I don't think anyone's tried to track me down, but I don't have FB. And I highly doubt anyone wants to see my design/art/code feed on Twitter and Instagram.
I've never tried to find out more on someone with the tid bits of information they have shared. Not my style. When trust is built, naturally more RL stuff is shared. Seems like a two way street.

I have one email address for regular, everyday stuff and another for "fun" stuff, mostly. Lit is tied to one, and FB is tied to the everyday one. So I think that keeps FB from matching anything up from Lit, maybe. But I did have what you're talking about happen one time; the only thing I can think of is that he has my phone number and was in my contacts. Fortunately, it's someone I totally trust.

To answer part of VT's question, you have an option to "ignore" the request, so I've done that with people I don't want to "socialize" with. If they were a Litster and asked me about, I would tell them that I simply preferred to keep r/l and lit separate. Anyone with half a brain should understand that.
