Endless Curiosity

I got involved with someone and never should have. She turned out to be someone other than she appeared :(

If you could change one Lit moment, what would it be? It could be a choice or a missed opportunity, or any kind of redo.
I got a wonderful PM from a Litster that I had crushed on from afar for a long time. I was so excited when he finally sent me a note! I took my time writing (what I thought) was a witty, charming, flirty, smart response.

And...crickets. Never heard from him again.

Love can be tough. Is a broken e-heart easier or worse than a real-time heartbreak?

I think that fully depends on the degree of closure involved. Sometimes an e broken heart has no closure as the person may just vanish or end the relationship without warning. However, I think they are both equally painful and I wouldn't say one was better or worse than another. Pain is pain.

I think heartbreak, if you truly love someone, is the same either way. I would think the lingering heartache could be easier online than real-time. Particularly if you would continue to run into the ex in person. It's easier to avoid someone online. The other side of that is that you might not get the closure you need online, particularly if the person just vanished without making a clean break.

Either way, heartbreak sucks. Badly.

Neither is easy for me. A broken heart is still a broken heart, regardless of the circumstances. I don't separate the situation based on cyber or real life, because the people involved are real regardless. It's probably why I'm such a recluse now.

I've never experienced an e-heart break, so it's tough for me to pipe in. I'll agree what UW says and add, anytime emotions are involved, trust is built and things go askew, heartbreak hurts. Here or there, the heart needs time to heal.

On multiple occasions I have had people say they PMed me, only I never received the PM. My PMs are off for now because of that very thing. I'd rather not have people secretly resenting me for not replying to something I never even saw. :p Lit's servers suck.

Not that I think I'm the person in question. Just saying.

Well, that's a well-timed question. Right in the teeth! :D

Like SMN I can't compare as I haven't suffered both. Only I haven't had the real life sort. All the women I've fucked before settling down have resided in a different state. Well, actually, except one. Big state.

Anyway, I imagine heartbreak is heartbreak. Even though I've only had the e-variety it still feels like having my chest ripped out.

Having suffered both, I'd say they are no different. The mechanisms of the environment may differ, but it's the strength of the attachment and the intensity of emotion that define the depth of the heartbreak.

Grief is tough, no matter the venue.

They're equal.....it all depends how much you put into either of them. I have been hurt before in real life and online and to be honest, hurt is hurt regardless of the source. :(

I don't actually exist. I'm just an app on your phone.

Awkward to find out this way I know, but...

OK kids, mommy is sick today. You can play games or whatever today, but no fighting!

And don't mess with the stove.

I'm going back to bed.

Didn't you play lava floor as a kid????

You know, the floor is lava, so you have to climb on the furniture to move around. If you slip off, you die cuz it's lava?

Do you have good Jewish Deli's down there? You need some top quality chicken soup. I'd bring it over if I could.

If not, and you have the energy, here's a highly rated recipe.

Get better soon, or we're gonna be rudderless here (sailor terminology). You know us, we need discipline ;)
