I think this depends greatly on my mood and my partner. So it can vary depending on the setting and moment...

Generally speaking, I happen to believe there is beauty all around us. So long as we know where to look. Part of my 'many people look but so few people see' soap box. If you are 'into' your partner, you will look past those things they view as flaws and insecurities and focus rather on those parts of them where you find beauty. In that vein, I like enough light to 'see' her. All her curves and all her flaws. Because her flaws are some of the very things I find so attractive. I love to explore and discover. Living in a state where it is legal for recreational use, I can tell you that it is a weird feeling.

Honest answer. I have never tried it. I have smelled the smoke second hand, but never partook myself. I think as long as people are responsible with it, it should be legal. Otherwise I don't know enough.

If it helps a person who is ill feel better, by all means give it to them. As far as making is legal? People are doing and going to continue to do it whether we make it legal or not. The government will tax the crap out of it like they do liquor and cigarettes. Legalize it. Tax it.

It takes the power and money from the drug cartels, increases tax revenue, and study after study shows marijuana is less harmful than alcohol.

I actually partake in neither alcohol nor marijuana, personally, but I'm a bit of an ascetic. I still respect other people's right to do so.

I once took a test designed to see where I fell on a political spectrum that judged economic issues on the X axis and personal freedom issues on the Y axis. I fell firmly in the "libertarian left." Basically I believe in socialized medicine and the government breaking up monopolies but if you crazy Texans want your guns that's fine and I'll just try to stay out of the pot smoke in California.

Meh. Why not? Not a user myself, but the criminalization seems ridiculous when compared to other recreational consumables. It's usage seem to yield less problematic results than alcohol, for one thing. And I agree with curvy, the government could just slap on a sin-tax.

Medical marijuana? Of course. Script? I wouldn't think so, but I don't really know anything about dosage for medical issues.

Haha, yeah. Though if you take that test you'll notice that a lot of those questions are about large international corporations and that's how they judge right/left. And I have a...distaste for big corporations. Oh well.

The only two questions they had on social support (that I remember) were about the government supporting art that couldn't make it on the free market and supporting people able to but unwilling to work. And my answers there were to the right. If nobody wants to buy their shitty art that's their problem.

On the topic of drugs, I'm marginally of the view that it's better overall for the state to take charge of legal distribution (together with support funded from the takings) with a view to driving out of business the other unsavoury aspects of the trade.

It's a marginal view because I can see plenty of downsides to that approach too, and it would take a very brave politician to act on it. As I understand it from the experts, though, it might be the least worst solution.
