Endless Curiosity

Let's just say my grandmother called me "brazen" on more than one occasion in my youth, but, in my defense, I was kind of a Tom Boy. I played football, fished, etc. It wasn't until after I was tackled one day during a game that I decided I couldn't play with the boys anymore. The guy just stayed on top of me and whispered, "You know? You're getting a lot easier to hold on to."..then he winked at me as I pushed him off.
That was the last game I played with them. I didn't mind getting tackled ever before.. but his comment made me feel weird.

Typically, I prefer to be lured, not chased. Occasionally, I will chase a man who very clearly wishes to be caught.

I like being chased.

I'm no good at chasing.

I know what you like. ;)

There is also much to be said for the back-and-forth dance between two people who enjoy a bit of both. :)

I feel like playing tag you're it.

In all seriousness I think it is human nature to enjoy someone taking the effort to "chase."

Let's talk about this next! Can we, VT?:cattail:

To chase, or not to chase? Ladies, how do you feel about chasing men? Gentlemen, how do you feel about being chased?

I don't chase. But I have been rather successful in getting men who I want to chase me, to chase me.

I'd rather run toward a common goal together.... That being hopefully fucking one another senseless:D:rose:

I know it it can be problematic when we categorize people into groups, especially binary groups - This or That. But it is a natural process and does sometimes help us discuss and understand the world around ourselves.

We have explored with some great participation the ways different people act and react on Lit. Men versus Women. Single versus Attached. Even assholes from those that are not.

So my question is, what other ways do you look at people on Lit? Do you have other measures or categories? Let's discuss these.

About the only lingering shyness I have is that I really am not a chaser. I've just try to be chasable

I tend to see Lit in three groups: The Chronically Bored, The Fun Seekers, and The Unfulfilled and Searching.

I fall into the latter, and my best interactions have been with those. The Fun Seekers are fun, for a minute. And I avoid the Chronically Bored like the plague ;)

There are overlaps, too. You can weave in and out. And there are sub groups. But we could break that down into a million individual categories, so my broad generalizations are just that. :):rose:

Other categories: the Trolls, the Love Spammers, the Nostalgic

Very interesting.

Obviously we don't wear tags as to which we are, so I assume you have to interact with people before learning which they are. Some may be obvious at first contact, but others may take longer to figure out. I assume.

I wonder where I fall? I fear I may be one of the Chronically Boring.

Your AV's are never boring - I really like this one :)

I don't categorize people. We're all individuals. The only major thing I have is that I like nice people. I don't like mean or shady people. After that, everyone is a unique individual to me and I try not to be judgmental.

How do you determine who is mean or shady without some judgement? I agree with this, btw, but just for the sake of discussion.

I think all of us take people on an individual basis, or at least try to. But with millions of individuals out there, what makes you decide on one or two you'd like to interact with?

I also think humans use categories to narrow the field. It's done with judgement, yes, but not the nasty, negative kind. Simply in the way we decide to divide our time between this person and this person and decide that person is worth ignoring.

(I'll wager I just moved myself to the ignore pile! :D:rose: )

Like!

btw - in my book you moved to the more interesting "pile". :)

Mean or shady has to do with the way people treat others. I guess you could say that's a judgement call.

I think everyone falls along various spectrums, and it's that unique mix that makes others attractive to us. It comes down to personal chemistry. For example. When pming and chatting on the threads, I have a preference to interact with those who use grammar and spelling reasonably well. If I'm limericking, I much prefer to do it with those who use the proper form and cadence. However, I might overlook that preference if I also find them witty, engaging or possessing other characteristic I find appealing which outweigh the negatives.

You're absolutely right, we spend our limited time with those who we most enjoy being with. Intellectually, sexually, or simply from an entertainment standpoint.

That's one of those words that sounds as though it ought to be something terrifically naughty. ;)

As in "Fuck, I can barely walk, he limericked the hell out of me last night"?

or

"C'mere you naughty little minx, I'm gonna give you that limericking you deserve"

:D
