I've always found that I'm happier when I'm the one that's wanted. Maybe because when it's me that wants, I want too much and I'm always disappointed.

This may sound strange to some, coming from a D/s'er, but it has to be pretty equal for me to be satisfied with the relationship. If I want you more than you want me, I feel ..superfluous, needy, or like we are sitting side by side and watching two different movies. I don't care for that.

Alternately, if you want me more than I want you I feel harried, pressured, like I'm walking on eggshells. Tipping the scales a little one way or the other other is fine, as long as we are 80 percent or greater on the same page. I don't care for a one sided relationship going either way.

In all honesty, I'm not sure I've ever been the one "wanted" (at least not IRL).
I think though, that being "wanted" actually kind of scares the crap out of me...probably an "I'm not worthy, what happens when she finds that out...blah blah..."
Also, I guess I kind of like the "thrill of the chase?"

That all said, I think I would like to try being "the wanted one." At least for a little bit?

Well, until reading Collar's answer I'd say definitely the one who is wanted. That's been my experience and it works for me. I like to be in control and have things all nice and orderly. Plus, it also allows me to be comfortable being...well...me. I'm focused and intense and usually running in several directions at once. A little overwhelming for some.

Buuuuuuuut, wanting is important. There needs to be a strong attraction on my end or I do get bored, or not engage at all. So, while I want to be the wanted, the ratio can't be too skewed.

Aaaaaand, mildly related.... Any playtime for me on Lit is geared to working out my force/submission kink. My two foray's were spattered with panic attacks, rampant insecurity, and bolting for the hills. I suspect giving up control is rather like being the wanter. Vulnerable. Not my forte, apparently.

I now refer to the above period as my "Kink Breakdown".

There is the most bizarre drama going on in the GB. It's been running a year or more at this point. Crazy - and I do mean crazy - poster whose been accused of being everything from a performance alt, to a female impersonator, to bat-shit crazy, to a bot. There's stalking, weird one-sided crushes, a complete inability to comprehend the written word, and continuous fit throwing. I've never seen anything remotely similar....

Every time I take a Lit break I expect the drama to have wrapped up, but nope. Still going strong.

There is this guy Gavin, currently on here as JoanneA. He's completely whacked. This is his third incarnation here as far as I have seen.

And to the mods, I'm not giving anything away here. He posted pics of phone screen shots showing that his name is Gavin.

I can't remember his first user name (first that I saw, anyway), but in that he had a link to his tumblr (also showing his full name). It was nothing but him with different facial expressions. Very, very creepy. His posts read like he is about 11, but his pics look like he's about 25. This guy is completely over the cuckoo's nest. Everything he posts is bizarre, even when I think he is trying to truly connect he fails miserably. Sad, really. We mostly ignore him (on the BDSM threads), but occasionally somebody gives him some well meaning advice, which he promptly escalates into something totally pathetic and bizarre.

I will try and find his original two user names, because they are even more bizarre than the current him. This guy is scary crazy...
