Endless Curiosity

The mechanics of attraction. Most of us know what draws us to a person, personality, looks, great smile. But once there, what keeps your motor running. Their scent, the sound of their laugh, the twinkle in their eye? What does it for you?

I tend to fall for a woman who has that wild fiery twinkle in her eye. I've found it reflects a zest for life that is intoxicating, both as friends and as lovers.

Intelligence. The ability to retain eye contact during a conversation, whether we're talking about where to go for dinner, or sex. And a sense of humor is a must. Oh, facial hair is a bonus. Sounds shallow, I know. But there it is.

Intelligence, confidence, wit, and humor.

Dominance, a calm, steady personality that can offset my indecisiveness, break through some of my barriers and walls that I throw up. Someone that can tell me "No" and do it in such a way to make me reconsider, not get mad.

Someone who can challenge me. Someone who is my equal, or even better, at some - many - things. Intellectual and willing and able to have wide ranging conversations about science, politics, economics, religion, history, and everything going on in the world.

Someone who laughs at my jokes. Who makes good jokes themselves. Someone who enjoys a good "bad" pun.

Someone who likes sex. Who embraces it for fun. I used to prefer someone who I could lead down that road. Someone who was less experienced, and maybe a little more shy, but would "follow." Now, I'm not so sure that's what I want.

And, a great smile. A nice ass. Boobs. Yup, those are still kind of important....

Confidence, curiosity, kindness, and lately passion...whether it be for life in general, a new hobby, or old hobby. Passion for pleasure as well as for Living Life to Its' fullest.

What gets me there: A particular twist of humor or physical attraction. Yup, I’m that shallow. ;)

What keeps me there: I have a thing for smart men, preferably smarter than myself and of a completely different mental type. Otherwise I get bored quite easily. I also tend to be on the volatile side, so a level, controlled temperament is a plus.

What I appreciate: Scent. Smell plays a big part in my memory and mood.

Am I allowed to answer? ;)

For me, shared sense of humour and sense of fun play a vital part, both inside the bedroom and beyond. Life has many ups and downs, and I reckon that the best way of getting through the bad times is to be able to disconnect from them for a while and have a good laugh together. It's also handy that I can indulge fully my creativity and imagination in the knowledge that, if it all goes disastrously wrong, we don't take it too seriously and can share warm giggles about our mishaps for years to come.

@Mindfondler: of course. They let me in, for cryin' out loud. :D

On the subject of attraction, I am more of a do as I do and not as I say kind of guy. My deep physical preference is for petite women, generally blonde, who are shorter than I am. In practice, Only about one quarter of my lovers have fit that profile completely, and maybe another quarter have fit key parts of it but not all. Thus about half of my lovers attracted me without meeting any of these traits that I have held close for 50 years. Over time, I have come to the conclusion that the very best thing about any lover's body is that it is attached to HER. But the body isn't everything, is it?

I have dated women who might have considered Homer Simpson to be a bright guy, but only once each. Extensive formal education isn't essential but it does mean that we're going to have a little more in common than otherwise. I am addicted to laughter, so if you can't laugh with me, we're not going to make it for very long. Another must-have for the long term: devotion. You must persist in your devotion to me (which may or may not involve letting me redden your ass occasionally) and you must maintain mine. Truthfulness in all things, a willingness to enjoy the life you have in the moment, and enjoyment of sex are all going to keep me around until the cows come home. I need to hear a twinkle in your laugh and a purr in your sighs.

What first caught my attention was his AV that featured him with no shirt and a hand down his pants. What has kept it going for 9-10 months is who he is. Yes, he's sexy as fuck but he's also an amazing human being. I love the sound of his voice. The only nights I'm able to sleep all night are the ones where I get tpntalk to him on the phone right before I go to sleep. One of my favorite places to be is curled into his side, my head on his chest so I can hear his heart beating and his arms wrap around me. He doesn't wear cologne, but I love how he smells. He's just all-around my safe warm place and I'm attracted to every single bit of him.

This^. A must for a long-term relationship. Not as in I must have my way, or always come first, or even necessarily monogamy. More a mutual focus on wanting each other to be happy and the desire to make it so. :)

Co-signed regarding numerous women everywhere. Though staring down at legs is more my focus issue

Ahem. I have good legs. Just sayin'. :D
