Ever Decreasing AH...

7 lbs is still very impressive Mat.

Time to get back on the wagon methinks...

It's just so much harder when it's cold...

Thank you. I seem to be sticking to my self-set target of a pound a week....7lbs in 6 weeks. It's not a huge loss, and every now and then I'd love to step on the scales and see it register a 2 or 3 pound loss in one go....such a boost. But I'm far too lazy to do that, and at least this way, it doesn't feel like a diet, and I'm in no way deprived.

The only thing I have to monitor, because of the gall stones problem, is my fat intake. I try to keep that as low as possible. Very low in fact. No fried food if I can help it, can't remember when I last had a fried egg or bacon. I eat only boiled or poached eggs or omelette with virtually no fat in the pan (wipe it over with some olive oil on a piece of kitchen towel, just enough that the omelette doesn't stick). I do have fried potatoes, but they are virtually char grilled - I do the same as the omelette to stop sticking. Not the same flavour at all as full blown chips, which I haven't eaten now for over weeks, but pretty good all the same. And for a real treat, I grill ONE rasher of unsmoked streaky bacon - that's half of one day's allocation of 'extras' on my regime, so I savour it, have it maybe once a week, usually on the day after I weigh in (only do that once a week).

Loads and loads of fruit and fresh veg. Salad now, I have to be in the mood for. It has to be a really hot day in a hot season for that. I just use it in sandwiches.

Dieting really is a pain in the arse, but it has to be done. Over the last 2 years, since I gave up work, and went to be with Min, I've put on around 1 1/2 stone...contentment will do that to you. Add that to the indulgence of eating far too much fatty food (I have very low food tastes), and too much food generally......*sigh*......it's now or never.

well I had a bagel with full fat cream cheese and smoked salmon for breakfast, um...

But on the plus side I slept well last night so feel quite energetic (for me) and it's sunny so I think I'll go for a run, burn some of it off. At least brekkie was high protein as well as high fat.

That's kinda the problem with the wedding being so far off - I've lost the impetus, but I really need to start now, because I have about 2 more stone to shed and it won;t be healthy if I try and do that in 4 months or whatever. If I start now I have a year, almost exactly.

<cracks whip>
C'mon gal, you harrassed yourself into writing 400 words last night, mebbe you can harrass yoursxelf into exercise today.

tbh, the hardest bit is putting your running gear on, I think. It's pretty much downhill from there because you're committed.

ps- sorry for talking to myself. This thread is acting like my journal of weight loss and it helps :D

ps- Mat - do you have to stay away from 'good' fats like avocado and olive oil as well?

Whipping yourself sounds like hard work. I'll go get mine...

right. bosom is now firmly strapped down. Leggings (for shame-fuelled impetus to exercise) are donned. Just the last frontier - trainers- to go now...

Why is putting trainers on the *hardest* part of exercising <sigh>

I'm still holding at 225 pounds, even though I cut back a few things in my diet, and have been exercising more again. Maybe it's just waiting to kick in?

Okay Okay - I have got to tell you all about something I have found that blew my mind....

A company Called LIFEFORCE aka pill free vitamins offers a product called Herbal Body Wrap -

I didn't believe their claims... More Hype ya'know?
But then - after careful researching - I decided what the hell... I have spent more on a girdle (LOLOLOLOL).

I ordered it, took my measurements, cooked it, then poured it into my bath water... I target wrapped my lower abs, there I stayed for about 1 1/2 hours.

I took my measurements again and HOLY SHIT - I lost 7.25 inches mostly around my hips and belly....

I was energized, my skin felt incredible, and the blahs were gone.
A beautiful pair of slacks that I had bought in April and promptly gained too much weight to wear are actually LOOSE on me today... Its amazing ----

Look into it... Its WORTH IT... and wonder of wonders it actually works....

I used to do that in cincinnati...didnt always work long term but it felt wonderful and skin was lovely. Hubby used to set up surprise wraps when I felt horrid. Only weird thing was the lady made me hop on a trampoline after I was wrapped for 20 minutes. She said it helped the minerals and herbs soak in better.

Now that is weird LOL.... Hot baths do the same thing (opening the pores I assume?)...
Getting ready to take my 2nd say measure ments - hmmmmm

I don't want to do anything today. I totally want to give up, but my shoes are on and it's nice outside.... *extracts ass from chair*

I've started going to two kung fu classes a week again. Monday and Tuesday. But I've been coming close to passing out each time from heat exhaustion. I'm a physical mess, and still the same 225 as ever. Maybe the weight lifting I'm doing on the side will help shift the weight around from fat to muscle *hopes*

Imagining that for a minute.

Thank you for making me smile :)

*giggles* well it was rather amusing. She wrapped me head to toes. So all that showed was eyes finger tips and toe tips. I would waddle in to the other room after being wrapped and hop up on one of those mini trampolines with the bar to hold on to. She'd flip on the tv for me and hop away i went. :D :D

V...I found a home kit...might order it and see what its like and you can find recipes online for different wrap solutions to try as well.

thee~ your work out would probably do better if you had your kung fu workouts further apart from each other...plus it would give your muscles more time to heal in between sessions.

Gave in and bought a set of scales. The read out in kg., st/lbs, and pounds, so it works for both of us. (Wife hasn't got her head around stones yet).

And thankfully, another pound one.
Managing to stick to my one pound a week target so far. Would love the occasiona 2 or 3lb loss though, just for the ooomph it would give my diet.

I was waiting for muscle recovery to get within a suitible time period to facilitate a two time a week schedule. My muscles feel fine by the time I get to my next workout. I was starting to feel twitching from not working out twice a week.

It's the rest of me that is feeling crap. My lungs and heart and skin...

epsom salt baths for the skin sweets. Though damned if I can find any over here:( Maybe it is called something else and I haven't figured it out yet.

Thanks honey.

Just going to repeat what I posted on the Mood Thread:

I can't find the 'disappearing AH' thread, so I'm just going to post on here.

Went to the gym tonight, been going for 11 weeks, and they do an interim check on weight, measurements, blood pressure after 10 (didn't go last week, wasn't well). Wow!! Did I do well.

Like I said earlier, I've lost a stone (14lb), and from all the measurements (upper arms, bust, waist, 'tummy', hips, thighs, knees), I have lost a grand total of 15 1/2 inches off my body in those 10 weeks!! Whoop!

And my blood pressure has dropped dramatically....135/79 (believe me, for me that's fantastically good), even after the walk to the gym and up two flights of stairs.

My joints feel much better, I ache less, I have more energy....to say I'm pleased is putting it mildly. I have a real buzz going on now.

Now I just have to keep it going for another 40 weeks.

:nana: :D :nana: :D :nana:

Just wanted to share. I am lovin the South Beach diet plan. Really hard the first day but up hill after that. Solid food and no allergy problems since I started. Lost 10 pounds in the first two weeks when you can't have any carbs or fruit. Today I started adding carbs back in. I'll post how it goes.

I've lost 22 pounds so far, since July. I started out by doing the "You On A Diet" program by Dr's Oz and Roizen. It's a great way to start, if you have never been able to follow a diet. It changed my whole mentality about food. I'm working out about an hour a day, doing something, usually half cardio and half yoga or weights.

I just embarked on a holistic detox diet(the 'You Are What You Eat' detox), because I'm still having a lot of aches and pains and skin issues. We'll see how that goes. Uh, I'm a vegan right now, but I can deal.
