Ever had a life changing event that literally changed you?

I worried about stupid stuff until my wife of 28 yrs passed on. The kids have kids of their own now. After recovering from a busted knee and avoiding the wheel chair, the head injury almost took me out.Having accepted permanent brain damage and adjusting to the new normal at this phase, I'm moving on. Nothing, I mean nothing, bothers me. I now love life more each day and laugh a little easier w/out fear of the unknown. I have faith of the heart.

You strike me as someone who has far less brain damage than most people here who've never had a head injury.

Just sayin.' ;)

I addressed the head-injury fetish in Like a Hole in the Head. Hmmm, will declaring oneself brain-damaged be the next big status fad? I got mine in infancy. Think of all those concussed footballers. Brain injury: America's excuse.

The "divorce ". Woman I was dating 20 years ago thought I was "too good to be true", did an Internet search on my name. One of the hits was a person with a similar name, 2000 miles away, 10 years old, white supremacist (Aryan Nation, Christian Identity), and a child molester. She thought I was him, could not be convinced otherwise. She put 4 gallons of water in the gas tank of my truck, called my employer, and more.
The dude she accused me of being is in Federal prison.
Needless to say I felt lower than whale shit after that. Was snakebit, wondering if I would get involved with another who turned out to be a psycho.

Having my daughter. She saved my life several times over.
