Evil Dead - Army of Darkness Thread

Kate

Kate looked over at the sound of footsteps to see Nate walking towards her, an axe still in his hand. She looked at him and said, "I have no idea what that was but I am going to go and check. But I don't think that I should go out there alone."

Kate expected to see a grin light up Nate's face but got nothing. She turned and walked into the woods and heard the footsteps behind her and knew that Nate was there. She didn't feel so foolish anymore and if anything was out there then Nate had brought the axe with him. She looked behind him and saw with a smile that he had.

Nate saw the challenge on her face as she spoke, "I have no idea what that was but I am going to go and check. But I don't think that I should go out there alone." She was obviously expecting him to make a sophomoric pass. He didn't, maybe that worked for Jeremy and Silver and the rest, but it had never been his style. Plus, why bother? She was obviously going to end up sharing a bed with Jeremy or that N'Sync boy. He followed her quietly, occasionally shifting the comforting weight of the axe in his hand.

Whatever had made that scream was probably not friendly, he was glad he'd brought the axe with him. It made him feel better to have a weapon. Even if he didn't have a shot with her, it also gave him a little twinge of pride to feel like the big protector with Kate.

Kate

Kate looked over at Nate and thought that he looked handsome and that she would get to know him but for some reason he was trying to keep his distance. She stopped until he was standing beside her and looked at his face, a smile on her face. She moved closer to him and said, "Thanks Nate. I don't think that any of those chickens in that cabin would have come out here."

She stood there and waited to see the look on his face and wondered what he was going to say. She looked at him and he was indeed handsome but there was still something there that was making him keep his distance from her.

Nate came to a stop as Kate did, wondering what it was she wanted. She smiled and moved closer to him, speaking softly

"Thanks Nate. I don't think that any of those chickens in that cabin would have come out here." The misogynistic part of him in the back of his head immediately started going off in alarms, but he ignored it. He smiled himself and returned her look. "Well, stacking wood gets real old after a while, and I didn't have anything better to do. Besides, most of those guys are just looking for a piece of ass while they're up here, they're too busy macking to investigate screams and the like I suppose.."

Kate

Kate looked back at the cabin then at Nate, "Yeah. I know what you mean about those guys in there wanting a piece of ass. That security person Jeremy made a pass at me in there but I'm just not interested and anyway we have to find out where that scream came from and if anyone is hurt out there."

Kate grabbed Nate's arm and began running deeper into the woods, not really knowing where to go but there was the hope that she would find someone alive. She didn't really know what she would find and she thanked god that Nate and his axe were with her.

As the two of them went deeper and deeper into the forest Nate began to feel uneasy. He felt as if something was following him, watching him. He didn't like the feeling of it. He'd always been a perceptive person, he could usually tell a decent person from an asshole at a glance or a handshake. This felt like all the assholes he'd ever seen, added and multiplied a thousandfold... This felt Evil. He tried to shake it off, but the sensation only grew stronger and stronger.

They came to a clear spot in the middle of the forest, blood was splashed over the leaves and on the trunks of trees. Too much blood.. Nobody could loose that much blood and live. Tree trunks nearby were shattered, the damage looked fresh, and not caused by lightning. The hairs stood up on the back of his neck and his arms. There wasn't a body, signs of a struggle, yes, but no body. Also, no clear trail, the kind that would be left by dragging something, or by two or three men carrying something heavy. That sort of burden would leave a trail a mile wide either way.. He thought he saw a person's foosteps entering and leaving the clearing, and a small trail of blood on what he assumed was the exit path.

He frowned and looked up at the sky for a moment, he saw the red sun, part of it already obscured by the mountains. A cold wave of horror washed through him, swept him under, consumed him. He froze momentarily, and then began to back away, towards the cabin, nearly dragging Kate.

"We should go.. We should go Now!" His voice was starting to get shaky. "We don't want to be out here after dark with whoever..." he looked around again. "Whatever caused this..." He pulled her towards the cabin, looking at her imploringly. Normally he wasn't one to scare easily, but with the thing in the forest, and the grisly scene, he was terror-stricken.

ooc: I don't want to interupt anybody, but I'm surprised this thread is doing so well. I truly enjoyed the movie, I honestly did, but army of darkness thread is kind of a turn off for me. I mean, their is one girl through out the whole movie, (she is hot by the way), and other than that, there is nothing else sexual about it, and that includes Ash. Hes a funny guy, but I can't really say that hes a babe magnet. I mean, hes decent looking guy, but I doubt hes ravishingly sexy.

Kate

Kate hated being pulled along without knowing why and Nate was pulling her along so hard it was almost as if he wanted to pull her arm out of the socket. She tried to pull away from him and find out why he looked and sounded scared, no he was terrified. It was then that she heard a noise that seemed to rip straight into her soul and turn her blood to ice at the same time.

"What the hell was that?!" she shouted at Nate who kept on pulling her along, straight towards the cabin.

Nate felt her resistance to being pulled and tried to stomp down his fear a bit. Then that horrible noise echoed throughout the forest and his terror returned with a vengeance. She was starting to get panicky too, he could hear it in her voice.

"What the hell was that?!" He nearly screamed for a second, then managed to tone his voice down to merely loud.

"I don't know, and let's not find out first hand! Now come on or I'm going to throw you over my shoulder and carry you!!" He gave her a look for a second, trying to convey to her his absolute seriousness before he began to move more quickly, running as fast as he could while attempting to drag her along. "Come on! COME ON! THERE'S SOMETHING OUT HERE!"

Kate

Kate looked back into the forest and then at Nate and almost shouted out but she knew it wouldn't do any good. There was something out there that wasn't human and it was coming after the two of them. Kate began to run as fast as she could, keeping up with Nate who was setting a fast pace.

She knew that he wanted to be inside that cabin where it was safe. There was another noise but this one sounded closer than the first. She began to run harder and shouted out, "Oh god, there are two of those things, whatever they are out there. We have to get to the cabin!"

Ooc: uhhh, thanks for that High King. I believe the thread for criticizing movies is in the general forum, if you could direct your complaints about Bruce Campbell's sexuality over there and let us role play, that would be great, thanks.

Frank locked the back door, coming back into the room.
"Ok, who's still out there?"
Jim looked out the window.
"That hot chick with the nice rack is walking out into the forest, holding hands with that macho guy."
Frank cursed, "So, someone screams bloody murder and they decide to go out in the forest and make out? Well, someone's priorities are literally fucked."
The scream came again, this time inside the house. Frank looked into the bedroom, where it came from. One of the other women was in there, looking at a window that had now crashed in. He walked up to her.
"Hey... you, you ok?"
She looked back at him, her eyes that of a misty inhuman recognition. She screamed, running for him. Frank ran out of the room, but landing with a gruff as she talked him right before the couch.
"I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR SOUL!"
She held onto his firey hair, and pulled him up, then, with a great force, pounded it against the floorboards. He screamed in pain, seeing red cross his vision.
She scratched his back, hitting and pounding him as much as he could.
Just then he heard a shotgun being cocked, at least he thought it was a shotgun. Please, let someone have a shotgun.

Trees began to crack behind them with growing frequency as they ran, Nate was headed full tilt now. His mind was beginning to fray a bit and random thoughts passed through his head as he nearly seemed to fly over the ground. Thank god for Uncle Chuck, who had taught him woodcraft, who had taught him to run through a forest and never trip. He looked back over his shoulder he almost screamed at what he saw, or more importantly, what he didn't see.

Trees were going off like gunshots, splitting in half. Leaves were being pushed forward as if by a small bulldozer, vines whipped out of the thing's way. But there was nothing there! Whatever was following them couldn't be seen, except by the evidence it left.

His breathing was becoming ragged, his lungs burning. Damn those cigarettes! They were almost there, just a little further. He could see the trees beginning to thin up ahead.

That was when he tripped. It was as if a vine had wrapped itself around his ankle with malovolent consciousness. He felt his balance going and pivoted on his trapped ankle. He hurled Kate as hard as he could toward the edge of the forest as he flew forward, barely remembering to relax as he slammed into the ground. Dirt filled his mouth and his grip loosened on the axe, but immediately tightened again. Lights danced behind his eyes and the world spun sickeningly for a moment. He growled ferally to himself, this was Not how he was going to die, killed by some invisible thing.

Then he realized he hadn't imagined the vine's intent, its sentience, the loathsome thing was rapidly twining up his leg. He looked up and saw Kate being attacked by more of the vines, grabbing both of her legs and one of her wrists. The fraying of his sanity increased incredibly, and he began to dance along the edge of the void of madness. Something inside of him, that hard part of himself that had always come forward and whispered advice to him in times of great need, surged forth and took control of him.

He howled a blood-curdling, wordless scream of rage at the thing, defiance of its very existance. It was a primal scream, echoing through the aeons from his earliest ancestors. He pulled himself up and swung the axe one-handed, severing the snake-like vine that had tripped him. He almost seemed to hear a cry of annoyance from the invisible thing and a manic grin split his face. He howled again, adrenaline bringing him up into an intense high and seeming to slow the world around him. He spun through the jelly-like air and saw Kate.

The world broke up into impressions. Something warm flowing down from his forehead, along his cheeks, into his eyes, obscuring his vision. Vines rapidly tying Kate up and trying to drag her down. Her wrists and ankles bound, another curling along her back toward her throat. His scream echoed throughout the forest a third time as he launched himself upward and forward, his axe a shining steel crescent as it sliced through the air toward one of the vines binding her wrist.

WHat the...?
Screams were emanating from the woods, and the winds was picking up outside, blowing against the side of the house, seeming as though it intended to push the walls in.
Then, the gay kid wanders into the bedroom to get tossed out inot the den again and grabbed by the head by some sadistic-looking bitch, who started to pound his head into the floorboards...the last part didn't surprise me much, I'd gotten the beating your head into the floor routine a few times myself...but the look on her face...
Something was very wrong with this picture.
I looked around, grabbing the nearest weapon...The shotgun I'd brought in from the car.
I pumped it once, the sound seeming to echo even with all that was going on. As it did, I thought I saw a light spark in the guy's face, then it struck the wooden floor again with a thump. I wasn't sure if I could shoot her...I mean, I'd just met her, actually, I'm not sure who it was, but she looked familiar...
Fuck it...She wanted to do this...it was showtime. I looked down at the weapon, thinking, she wouldn't believe I'd do it anyway...Threats don't work unless they think you'll back them up.
I dropped the gun and reached out to her, grabbing her by the upper arms and pulling her off of him. SHe flailed wildly, fighting me every inch.
"Come on, Honey," I coaxed, "Relax a little...I'm trying to keep the peace..."
She threw her weight backward, breaking my grasp and sending me crashing into the near wall. I struck the floor chest first, shaking the impact off and turning my head to see the gay kid doing the same. I rolled onto my back and looked up to see the girl floating above him, shifting her glance between him and me.
What the hell? The bitch flies???
"Alright, Honey, I don't know what you're on, but you've abviously taken too much of it. I'll tell you what I do know, though," I said, standing and looking to my right for the shotgun again. "At first, I was gonna take it easy on you...I mean, We're not even in S-Mart, I kinda' out of my jurisdiction...or maybe nobody told you that I'm the law...sorta,' kinda.' I'm giving you one chance to settle your ass down before I bring it like you've never seen it brought..."
SHe grinned. I noticed then that her eyes seemed to glow red in the darkness, and her hands were curled like claws.
"That's what I was hoping you'd say," I responded.
I lunged for the shotgun...

Frank's last hit with the floor had him passed out. Blood spilled from his open mouth, as he breathed in and out shallowly.
Jim was on the move though, he was behind the apparent flying bitch, and moving slowly. He saw the uptight guy threaten for her to calm down. Yeah, that'll work. Just tell her to stop defying the laws of gravity and be normal again.
Then, he saw him lunge for the shotgun, Jim lunged as well.
He tackled the bitch in the air, sending them both down. She was now on her stomach, flailing like mad. Jim held onto her with all his stength, feeling her squirm under his grip.
"Come on, shoot the bitch!" he said, holding her down tightly. He didn't want to let up, since she would then be on him, It was such a good thing her head was nowhere near him. Otherwise he might have been really scared about Johnny Shotgun and his bullet playing band.
"SHOOT HER!"

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

I had the shotgun in a second, surpised whne the other of the two brothers tackled the bitch, pinning her to the floor. SHe was on top of her, shouting, "Come on, shoot the bitch! SHOOT HER!"
I stepped colser, making sure the buckshot didn't hit the kid as well, the aimed and pulled the trigger.
CLICK!
What the...?
I looked at the gun, then looked to where I'd grabbed the shotgun from to see the box of ammo, unopened.
I grabbed for it, quickly tearing off the plastic wrapping and ripping off the cardboard lid. I grabbed for one shell, popped it in the chamber, then pumped the shotgun again.
"Okay, bitch," I said, "Now you've had it..."
I stepped forward, aiming the weapon again. SHe looked up at me, her face suddenly human...
"Wait," she said, her voice almost childlike in its innocence. "Wait, I'm scared...I don't...I don't want to die..."
SHe started to cry.

Kate

Kate struggled even harder against the vines and looked at Nate who was cutting at the vines that were wrapped around him. He cut himself free of them and moved towards her, slicing into one of the vines that was wrapped around her right wrist. She looked at him and pleaded with him to help and he brought the axe down, slicing through the vine that was wrapped around her right leg.

He looked at her and said that he would get her out but before he could bring the axe down again several vines flew out from behind Kate and slammed into Nate, knocking him to the ground. Kate watched as he began to get to his feet but before he could move towards her the vines wrapped themselves around Kate and began to drag her backwards. She looked at Nate, her eyes pleading, "Nate.... help me!"

The corresponding impacts of the vines and the ground brought Nate to a semblance of his senses. The blinding fury that had been fogging his mind cleared, and he realized that cutting the vines piecemeal wasn't going to work. All this was going on in his mind as he was rolling onto his feet. Time was rapidly speeding up again, the slowness that had afforded him his advantage earlier was gone. Now was the time to act.

He leapt forward again, slamming his axe down into several of the vines, severing them with a satisfying crack. Without pause he brought the axe up to waist level and slammed it down again, clearing most of the remaining vines. Nate grabbed Kate around the waist with his free arm and jerked her up, snapping the last of the vines and throwing her over his shoulder. He knew he didn't have any time to waste and began through the forest again.

This time he watched where he was going, Kate was still too shocked to run, plus he didn't want to waste any time in putting her down. He leapt over several more vines and finally cleared the forest, headed straight for the cabin at a dead run.

"FOR CHRIST'S SAKE OPEN THE DOOR!! THERE'S SOMETHING OUT HERE!! LET US IN GODDAMN YOU!"

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

I could hear something going on outside, but my attention was fully focused on the scene in front of me. THe girl, face streaked now with tears, eyes puffy, body small beneath the kid on top of her. All seen above the barrel of the shotgun.
"Please...don't...don't kill me," she whimpered.
When words like that are spoken, you can't help but be sympathetic.
I lowered the shotgun, looking at the girl with a combination of pity and confusion.
"FOR CHRIST'S SAKE OPEN THE DOOR!! THERE'S SOMETHING OUT HERE!! LET US IN GODDAMN YOU!"
Nate's voice, coming from the other side of the door. I looked to Simon, who sat nearby, eyes wide, looking around as though he didn't know where he was.
"Simon, quick," I shouted, "Open the door, let them in!"
Almost the second I spoke, I felt the shotgun being jolted from my grip. I looked down to see the girl, her face contorted again, just as it had been when she'd been hovering in the air before us. The kid who'd pinned her down was laying on his back, apparently thrown in as much surprise as I was in.
She grabbed Simon by the ankle and pulled him to the floor, dragging him into the living room. And shit! The bitch was flying all over again.
I dropped to my knees, grabbing the shotgun again and lifting it, seeing Simon's chubby face wide with fear.
I took aim, pointing the barrel straight at the girl's head, and shouting, "Silver, get the goddamn door!"
I pulled the trigger.

Lily was in shock as the woman screamed and lunged at people. She seemed inhuman the way she spoke was like dry leaves crackling. Jeremy shot her and she fell to the ground, Lily quickly hurried over to Frank and knelt beside him her eyes filled with worry when she saw the blood. She checked his pulse, it was shallow and faint. Somehow his skull wasn't cracked but he definatly suffered alot of head trama. "Frank" she said softly hoping he would hear her "Frank it's Lily please try to wake up" she gently wiped the blood from his lip. "Please Frank"

Frank mumbled something, incoherent. He was swimming through a black fog, something he was trying so desperately to escape from. Something held onto his legs though. All he could do was move frantically.
Jim ran towards the door, cutting Silver off. He held onto it, glancing back at the floating woman. Jeremy finaly got enough balls to shoot the mother fucker, pieces of her head flew in every direction. Jim voered his face, leaning against the door.
Some more screaming was heard outside, getting closer. He looked at it doubtful.
"Ok," his voice wavered somewhat, "What if they are like that thing too. What if they are all evil and dead and..." he held onto the door, looking back at all of them.
"How do we know? We had enough trouble fighting one of those bastards, but two?"
He looked at his brother, the poor guy. He seemed to be semi conscious.
In truth, he was. Swimming up, finding that spot once again. He fluttered his eyes open, looking at the woman above him.
"Margaret," he leaned up, kissing her, than fell back to sleep.
Jim eyed the now dead carcass.
"Jeremy, reload that shotgun. Silver, you get one loaded too. I'll open the door slowly, make sure we know if they are normal or not before they come in. They could be... they could be anything."
His heart was jackhammering against his chest, and he felt like he was going to have a heart attack in a couple of minutes.
No one noticed the beheaded corpse moving slowly.

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

What now? I thought. Would I go to jail? Would I be sent to some mental hospital? The possibilities were endless, but I doubted there were laws on the books about it being wrong to kill some floating bitch who intends to injure your friends...Hell, in Texas, I could have shot her for drinking beer on my front lawn, nonetheless the shit she was actually doing, attacking the kid, throwing me against the wall.
One of the two brothers (what were their friggin' names?!) had cut Silver off, keeping the door closed.
"Ok," he began, sounding out of sorts, which was only natural, "What if they are like that thing too. What if they are all evil and dead and..."
"How do we know? We had enough trouble fighting one of those bastards, but two?"
The kid had a point, but I doubted leaving them out there would help any. Behind me, the gay kid was muttering something to someone, but I paid no attention as to who.
Reload the shotgun, he said then, ordering Silver to take one up as well. Now he was talking. If they were like the headless bitch was, we'd have three headless bitches, or two headless bitches and a headless Nate.
I grabbed up the shells and loaded the shotgun, not stopping with one shell this time.
Silver grabbed the rifle, being as it was closer and already loaded.
"Alright, kid," I said, as we approached the door, weapons poised to shoot. I pumped the shotgun once, making sure it was ready, "open it up and say hello."

Kate

Kate slowly raised her head and let out a scream as soon as she saw the trees being smashed down by something that was coming ever closer to them. Suddenly the thing changed and Kate could see what it was, it was the most hideous thing that she had ever seen- it looked like something out of a horror movie. It changed back into its invisible form and began to move towards them once again, obviously after their blood.

She then heard Nate bang on the door once again and hoped that they would get into the cabin before the thing that was after them got to them.

Lily felt a moment of relief when Frank's eyes fluttered open. He muttered some woman's name and kissed her then he fell back once again out cold. She touched her lips and blushed then shaking her head she once again tried to awaken him. It seemed she was suceeding when the supposed corpse moved with sudden speed and grabbed her leg out from under her. She gave a shriek and began kicking at the creature. It held on tightly it's long nails digging into her skin making her cry out in pain. "Let me go damn you!" she managed to kick the hand holding her but it's grip remained strong. "SOMEONE GET THIS THING OFF OF ME!"

Let's hear it for the Baddies!

Evil Dead – Army of Darkness Thread
The Boss: The Black Rose

Hello folks: I stumbled across your little corner of the fanfic universe here and couldn’t help but want to jump in. I’ve written plenty of fanfic and RPG material over the years and love the Evil Dead series. Seeing that you’re already overflowing with characters, both main and otherwise, I figured I could help out with other things. You’ve always got to have a bad guy right? In this case the ‘great evil’. Most of us want to put more detailing on our own characters than the baddies, that’s where I come in. I’ll help ‘flesh out’ as it were the baddies. Give you cool background effects to help take that nice safe feeling of control away from you just a bit more…he he he…put a bit more ‘terror’ in this horror story.

Please let me know if you don’t want me involved and I’ll go back to enjoying the show. I’ll give a sample posting here and you can let me know. The Black Rose, if you do have any sort of story line I’d like to get with you and make sure I go in the right direction if you don’t mind.

Either way , thanks for the fun guys and gals, and remember, “Dead by Dawn…”

A quick recap to bring those of us entering late in the game us up to speed. Please let me know if there are any mistakes. I’ve taken and consolidated the info from all the previous posts. Figured it might make a handy quick reference guide. In Game posting to follow afterwards.

The HEROS (PCs):
Jeremy (Quiet_Cool): S-Mart security officer and driver of a Nova P.O.S. of which he’s in love with. Thinks chicks dig the uniform and his car. Infamous as “The J-Man”. Friends with Silver. Invented the phrase “Wild Elmo.” Brought a shotgun but left it in the car. Last seen beheading one of the NPC females (deadite) by way of shotgun and currently reloading in preparation for whoever’s outside the cabin.

Frank (poohlive): Brother of Jim. Thinks his brother and just about everyone else who doesn’t immediately jump in the sack with him is gay (to include his brother…makes you wonder don’t it?) Interested in valium, we’re still not sure if for himself or someone else. Last seen, Frank had been knocked out by deadite female and was drifting in and out of consciousness.

Jim (poohlive): Brother of Frank. Suffering from a freak accident with a dye bottle and now has hair the color of the sun. (What is that like hot blonde or orangy yellow, you decide.) Insists he’s not gay and can’t distinguish between the color pink and white. Both he and Frank are the grandsons of the old researcher couple who originally unleashed the Evil Dead. Currently wearing a Santa hat in an attempt to cover his hair. Likes Limp Bizket and Linkin Park for some unknown reason. Currently holding the front door to the cabin shut.

Kate (Andelus): Somehow managed to get roped into a hunting trip with a bunch of guys she didn’t know. She hopes she doesn’t have to turn the hose on anyone she’s in the bush with. Discovered the Necronomicon (right?) at the cabin and currently has it in her bag. Last seen being hauled from the woods by Nate after being attacked by the woods.

Lily (Lady_Siren): Blonde. Likes Jim but is disappointed by his choice of alternate lifestyle. Irritated with Jeremy’s “God’s gift to women’ complex. Last seen tending to the unconscious Frank and being attacked and WOUNDED (uh oh) by the decapitated deadite.

Nate (Moridin187): Stockboy at S-Mart. A hannger-on who has no life of his own and isn’t happy about it. Drives a duck-tape supported VW Bug. Irritates the heck out of Jeremy. Brought a shotgun and pistol both by chair in living room. Smoker of the great Camel cigarette. Subconsciously has something against his hand and wants to have evil invade it so he can cut it off…probably just to get the cool chainsaw. Currently has ‘The Ax.” Last seen running from the woods with Kate over his shoulder having just escaped being attack by the woods and banging on the front door of the cabin trying to get in.

Earl: (PmTick): Shaman, 67. Knows of the evils of the woods and is trying to get others of his tribe to help bless the cabin and fight the evil. Currently waiting on ‘Joseph’ to be brought from the reservation to talk with the cabin’s occupants.

The CANNON FODDER (NPCs): (Don’t know which female the current deadite is)
Jess: Blonde, 19, perky Daisy Duke type complete with appropriate outfit. Unknown current status.

Simon: Really Fat Guy in Hawaiian shirt. Currently in shock watching the scene in the living room.

No-Name “Simon’s Friend” : Semi-Fat Guy. Both he and Simon are friends of Jeremy from school. Unknown current status.

Julie: Dumb, Brunette Bimbo and Anna’s best friend. Possibly current deadite female?

Aaron: The ‘School Geek’, big glasses, trusty with a gun and buddy of Jim. Unknown current status.

Jacob Silvermen: AKA “Silver”. Tom Cruise at the end of Risky Business, totally cool and in demand. Friend of Jeremy. Drives a jet black ’69 Mustang. Last seen loading up a rifle in the living room.

Anna: Smart and fairly good looking. She’s very cautious and might actually survive more than two scenes. Yeah roight….other possibility for current deadite female?

UNKNOWN NPCs
Joseph: another member of Earl’s tribe of the same age as the cabin’s current occupants.

*************IC**************
The serenity of the calm and dark night sky seemed to go on forever. Looking out over the dark forest it was near to impossible to imagine what was taking place below the dark canopies of the trees. The moon seemed to bleed as clouds rolled across it blotting it out time and again. But as the moon looked down it could see within the dark forest at the horrors taking place around and within a small cabin.

Trees rippled like the waves of the ocean as the moon watched a pair of humans being chased through the depths of the darkened forest. Once it appeared as if the living forest enveloped them, but with a scream most primal the two emerged again, breaking for the false safety of the small cabin. Nipping at their heels was the evil that ruled over the forest dwellers. It glided over the land in silence, as the ground split and the fires of hell seeming to spread it’s dark light across the ground in the wake of the evil. More trees split or shattered as the evil passed, it’s sheer presence enough to disrupt the very elements of the world.

As it reached the clearing of the cabin it gave pause, almost as if afraid to leave the deep shadows of the forest. It had already braved the house once, delivering one of it’s minions forth in an attempt to subvert from within. But now as it watched the pair of scratched and clothes torn forms try and gain entry to the cabin it almost seemed to turn away.

The moon saw this was no defeat, but rather the evil avoiding the small group of humans who’d been watching the entire scene for some time. Their fire and rituals now gone, they seemed to be transfixed on the events transpiring before them.

The evil shifted and seemed to draw itself up, preparing for a charge. Then with the explosion of a nearby tree trunk, it launched itself into the clearing heading straight for the pair. It ignored the small rocky grave, worn down by years of harsh weather, and glided past. Its presence was almost as if an invisible wall preceded it, disrupting everything with it’s ferocity.

Meanwhile, within the cabin: The nails sent fire shooting through Lily’s leg as the headless corpse clawed her, drawing rivulets of blood from the wounds. The corpse dug its nails into her leg, trying to pull itself towards her. You could still see shards of glass from the broken-in window embedded in the corpse’s skin. A prism of colored gore continued to spray from the gaping wound where the head had been, splattering everyone close by.

“I’LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL!!!” Screeched the disembodied head from its resting-place across the room. The head, still lying on its side looked towards Lily as if directing it’s body where to go. Its pupil-less eyes stared as its mouth contorted into a hideous grin. “THE ONLY THING YOU’LL HUNT HERE IS YOUR SOUL!” It continued. “YOU’LL NEVER LEAVE HERE ALIVE!”

Ooc: Got the personalities a little cross wired, it it's ok. Frank is the dye job reject and Jim is the Homophobe. It's good though, I have no objections. With an actual evil character, it will be more fun now.

Jim looked back at the now shreiking corpse. The carnage was simply awesome. All of this happening within a matter of minutes. His hand had just released the door from it's hunges.
He tried to push it back, but it woudln't go. In a matter of seconds a huge warm wind brushed into the house. The door pushed against him, hard, and he fell back to the back wall.
Frank was no wide awake. It usually happens when someone starts screaming right in your ear.
He moved to the side, trying to get away from the noise, but saw the body instead, A headless corpse clawing at Lily who was no screaming.
He began kicking the thing heartily, but it didn't help.
"Someone help her!"
He was too disoriented to do anything but kick. Even his legs felt like jello, he was doing little more than agitating the evil carcass.
