Evil Dead - Army of Darkness Thread

Lily felt tears slide down her cheeks as she struggled against the corpse. It was not clawing it's way up her body it's overly long nails digging into her. "Jim" she cried soflty hating this weakness. She struggled against it but it was extraordinarily stong. "Someone help!"

Jeremy (S-Mart security)

OOC: Uh, Grey Mugi, one complaint...in Jeremy's description, you forgot to mention "pompous ass." Just thought I'd bring that to light.

IC:
Shit! It figured. The door won't close and the dead bitch is alive and kickin' again. I should have seen this coming...well, maybe not so easily, but...
Oh, well, it looked like the J-Man was gonna have to save the day all over again.
I turned away from the door, leaving Simon to guard it with his rifle while I returned to the nearby violence.
I pointed the weapon at the body, watching the gay kid kick it (he even kicks like a queer! Shit, which one of the Backstreet Boys trained this kid to fight?).
"Alright," I announced, "Everybody who doesn't want their ass blown away, get the hell out of the way!"

Frank grabbed Lily, holding her close to him. With a final desperate kick, he watched the corpse fly to the oppostie wall. A sloppy noise met them as the corpse smacked against it's own blood. He moved over her body, so she wouldn't get hurt anymore.
Closing his eyes, he waited for a shot.

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

Finally, the gay kid and the chick were out of the damn way. Time to get busy.
I fired once, watching the right arm of the corpse burst, blood being launched across the room, then pumped the shotgun again and fired at the opposite leg, seperating it at the knee. The body still jerked around, trying to drag itself across the floor to where the two were huddled together.
I pumped again and fired, this time hitting it in the chest. It lay still then, body torn and bleeding from everywhere.
I waited.
Nothing happened.
"Fuck it," I muttered, then fired at it three more times, turning the body into an unrecognizable bloody lump on the floor.
It was quiet for a few seconds, everyone staring at the body in disbelief.
"Alright," I said, breaking the silence. "Let's get them inside and take care of whatever's outside."

Ooc: I'm pretty sure they came in when the door was burst open.

Jim was on the porch, looking back inside.
"I'd hate to dissapoint you, but nothing's out here. Whatever it was that burst through the door, along with the two new love birds, is gone now. Probably just a gust of wind or something."
The faces inside knew he was lying just as much to himself as the rest of them. He couldn't honestly say what he was thinking though. That somehow some magical evil force was after them.
Things like that happened on movies, not in real life.
"Ok, ok, everyone just calm down. Why don't we do the obvious thing (obvious for Evil dead, not for reality) we just bury the body, and then in the morning we can leave and pretend this never happened."
He closed the door after him, looking at his brother holding the girl with the tore up leg. Somewhere in the back of his mind he wanted to make a comment, but he forced himself not too.
Right now, more important things needed to be done than making fun of a hair cut.
"You ok Lily?" Frank asked, holding her close to him.

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

"Tomorrow?" I asked, amazed. I scanned through those standing around me.
"Are you all crazy?"
They just stared back.
"I say we get the fuck out of here tonight. I don't know what the hell is going on here, bu twhen headless bitches are grabbing and throwing people around..."
I didn't know what to say then. I thought hard on it for a moment, squeezing my eyes closed and feeling sweat trickle down my temples.
"We need a better plan. I say we toss that thing in the basement, or out in the woods somewhere to let the vultures pick it to pieces, then were make a run for our cars. I know who to depend on when I need help, and I can always count on my the old Nova outside."

The Calm Before the Storm...

OOC: A little door play here...

IC:
Dirt and rocks kicked up in a mighty cloud as the force leapt into the clearing, heading straight for its prey. It watched as they struggled to get within the safety of the cabin. Again and again they attempted to open the door each time failing much to the force’s glee. But just as it was upon them the door burst open and the two stumbled within, the door closing seconds later. Howling with frustration the force threw itself at the door, only to have the startling sensation of pain send it backwards. It glanced at the door, seeing the remnants of a symbol on the door. Even with the symbol having been partially wiped away, its power still remained. Enough to send the force retreating back into the woods. Having sensed its sentry inside also defeated, the force withdrew to lick its wounds. Slowly it began gathering itself up for a different approach.

The headless corpse lie still on the floor, gore leaking from it body as if it were a sieve. The head howled with pain as it watched its body being blasted limb from limb. “YOU’LL NEVER ESCAPE OUR GRASP! THIS CABIN WILL BE YOUR TOMB!” It screeched as its pupiless eyes slowly closed and the head fell silent.

The silence lasted a few moments, nothing making a sound. Then slowly the wind made its presence known once again as it calmly whispered through the old cabin. The fire started to crackle and pop again and the smell of smoke and burning food wafted in from the kitchen, mingling with the stench of the gore of the corpse. In the distance…a lone wolf slowly started to howl and once again things seemed to be ‘normal’…at least for now…

OOC: Thanks for the corrections folks...I'll try to do better next time. :D

OOC: Sorry for going quiet folks, had a busy holiday season >.<;;

IC:
Nate got into the cabin and once he was sure Kate was inside, collapsed against the wall. He sensed that someone was talking, but all he could hear was his own breathing and the pounding of blood in his ears. He was starting to calm down, the anger which had overtaken him earlier was passing. He heard Jeremy suggesting they get to their cars and spoke softly, but with more confidence than he'd had earlier.

"That's not a very good idea.. There's, there's.. Something out there..." His hand, already white from exertion, tightened its grasp of the axe's handle hard enough to make his knuckles pop.

Kate looked at the door and knew what lay on the other side- pure evil. And now everyone in the cabin was saying they were going to make a break for it and run to the cars to get away? They wouldn't make it to the cars with that thing out there. She looked at the door again and was relieved and also a little frightened that she heard nothing out there.

What was that thing out there planning to do with them all. She had a fair idea but she didn't want to think about it. The one thought that was going through her head was.... they were all going to die.

"Leave? We can't just leave, we have a rotting," Jim gave a hard look at the still screaming head, "Well, a corpse anyway. We can't just stuff it somewhere. Despite the weird headless thing, she was a human being, and deserves at least a burial."
He went into the bedroom, and came back with nice big bedspread. He wrapped up the body and the head inside it. Blood stains came out dark and red against the white linen.
"I don't care if you want to leave right after we finish this, but it has to be done."
He grabbed a shovel from the side of the house and moved beyond the back shed where he began digging. It was tough work, seeing as the ground was nothing more than hard dirt and rock.
Frank, on the other hand, was caring for Lily. He already had her on the couch, and was wrapping up her leg tightly. The bleeding had stopped, thank god, but she didn't look very well. Pale almost.
The poor thing. She had gone through hell almost. He wanted to make sure the rest of her time was better.
"It doesn't look like she's hurt bad, nothing that needs a doctor or anything."
He said more to himself than anybody else.

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

Okay, so technically I was out of my jurisdiction. There wasn't an S-Mart for miles, and we weren't inisde of it. Regardless, I was getting damn tired of being ignored.
"Look, if we stay here, we don't know what's gonna happen. hell, it just got dark out there and look what's happened already."
Still, I doubted they heard me.
One of the brothers was outside burying the body...wasn't that rich? The head was probably shouting stock quotes and he's worried about a proper burial...not to mention whatever the hell had scared the hell out of the other two who....GGRRRRrr....
I grabbed the shotgun. if the kid was so insistant on burying the body, I guess I should make it a little safer for him.
I walked carefully out to what he worked, digging at the hard dirt.
I can protect him, hell...I'm a security guard...

Nate saw Jeremy following the other kid out of the cabin and sighed. He quickly jacked several shells into the clip of his shotgun and loaded his .45. He handed the pistol to Kate and looked at her for a moment. "If anything unnatural comes in that door, or if we come back.. like her.. Empty this fucker into them and try and get the hell out of here." He grabbed the axe in his left hand, the shotgun in his right, and left the cabin, quickly catching up to Jeremy and the makeshift undertaker.

"This is a bad idea you guys... You don't know what's out here.." His eyes searched the forest nervously.

"Neither do you," Jim said, shoveling out another rock filled pile, "You come running at the cabin like a bat out of hell, and the only thing chasing you is wind. Come on, we all saw it, the door opened, you ran in, and the only thing that followed you was a warm gust on a starry night. Oh, I'm so scared, please, don't let the wind hurt me."
Yeah, ok, what was a bit sarcastic, but to tell the truth he was tired with people running their mouths about stuff when they had no clue what was going on. Yeah, so the girl flipped out, really flipped out, that doesn't mean evil has somehow awakened. God, is there anyone on this trip that hasn't spent half of their lives watching sci fi?
He finally finished up the shallow grave, with no thanks to the other men. Probably just wanted to impress the women anyway. Leaving the cabin with their huge weapons. Make it look all safe for the womenfolk while he finishes up burying the poor girl.
Those eyes, probably got some bad crank or something. That's why she went stir crazy. Hell, it made sense. She heard that tape recorder playing, and with the combination of her overdose, just flipped her lid and began thinking she could eat souls. Hell, who hasn't thought they could eat souls at one time or another?
Wiping the sweat from his brow, he lowered the bloody linen inside. Saying a quiet prayer, he filled it up again.
"You know, not to sound cinical or anything, but there are shovels leaning against the shed. Instead of protecting me from a summer cold, you might try helping."
He rubbed his nose, had he been coming down with something? Perhaps not. Might just be something in the air. It did smell a bit odd, like something weird had been put into a fire or something.
Smelled like evil?
He laughed silently, filling in the grave.

Kate

Kate gripped the pistol tight in her right hand and looked at the door, hoping that Nate and the others would come back alive, even the security guard. She walked over to the couch and sat down, still looking at the door. There was definitely something very wrong and very evil out there and it was after them. She didn't know what it was but she told herself that she wasn't going out there, not alone that was and she was never going out there at night.

Here comes Linda or ties that bind

OOC: A little more creative license here...it just 'popped in there'
honest...

IC:
Jim sighed heavily as he patted down the rocky soil, putting the finishing
touches on the grave. Leaning against the battered shovel he noticed what
looked like two pieces of wood which had been bound together to form a sort
of cross laying near the edge of the woods. He looked around, wondering if
this spot might have been used as a burial ground for pets and such but saw
no signs of other graves. Wearily he picked up the makeshift cross and
jabbed it deep into the ground, marking the final resting place of the poor
insane woman. Lightning flared, flashing brightly through the clouds.

He looked back at his two 'guards' who'd followed him out of the cabin
shortly after he'd started digging. They seemed edgy, their eyes constantly
scanning their surroundings. Their weapons moved in slow arcs as they swept
across the small cleared near the shed. There was something in the air that
made Jim just as nervous; he couldn't quite put his finger on it. It had
dissipated shortly after the insane woman had finally shut up...well, her
head had...but no that couldn't be right. There was no way her head could
have continued to make noise after it left it's body...the vocal chords
where in the throat...that was it...it had to be the escaping air and gore
that had made the sounds...they couldn't have been words...there was no
way...and the grabbing of people...just reflex actions, that was it.

Shaking his head to clear it of the fog that seemed to fill it, Jim turned
and started to head back to the cabin. Something on the ground glimmered,
catching his eye. He paused and turned back. There on the ground, some
sort of necklace...with a charm on the end. Curious he slowly kneeled down
to look at the tiny magnifying glass on a silver chain. Odd little thing
that it was, laying near where he'd dug the grave. Strange he hadn't seen
it earlier. Perhaps it had been buried and he uncovered it as he dug.
Shrugging, he reached down to pick it up, not noticing the sudden quiet that
came over the woods.

A mangled skeletal hand burst forth from the ground, seizing hold of his
wrist violently. Startled, Jim pulled away, falling backwards with a start.
The hand held fast, using Jim's momentum to pull it from it's earthly grave.
The headless skeletal remains of a woman 'sprang' from the ground, doing a
full turn in mid-air before landing with an eerie grace.

For a split second Jim thought this was the girl he'd just buried. But then
he realized she still had the arm and leg that had been blown off the other
corpse. Plus this one was nude, what little bits of skin were left.

The trio stood in shock a moment as the skeletal girl danced about the rocky
soil. The wind suddenly whispered through the trees carrying with it the
sound of a woman's voice, "Ash?" The figure gave pause as it finished a
perfect pirouette and turned before bolting suddenly for the woodshed.
Shots rang out, but fell short as the skeletal girl danced through the
buckshot and slipped into the woodshed, the door banging shut behind her.

Nate was thrown off at first by the sudden emergence of the zombie, but the bizarre was quickly becoming par for the course on this little outing. He unloaded a couple of shells at the spectre before it managed to get into the woodshed. For a moment he was content to leave it in there, then something occured to him.

"Uh.. Guys.. There's a chainsaw in there... And I just fixed it up a couple hours ago..."

Lily leaned against Frank feeling sick to her stomache. She had lost alot of blood and felt in shock from the experience.. That god for Frank. He held her lightly taking care of her and she felt somehow safe in his presence. Suddenly the door inched open and she paled even more if that was possible. She was so sure she saw or rather felt something then it was gone and she was left shaking in fear once more.

OOC: Uh, Lady_siren, the dead chic's in the woodshed...

"A chainsaw?" I asked. "A chainsaw? You come to the woods and decide for no apparent reason that you need to fix everything?"
I looked at the shed. Oh, well. I guess we need to take care of the bitch anyway.
I pumped the shotgun once, readying the next shot, then started to creep slowly toward the shed door, trying to remember if there was a back exit. i was almost certainthere wasn't, but not quite certain. i stopped after about five steps, glancing back.
"Hey, you guys wanna come along? I'll go point...but I'm not going alone..."

Ooc: I guess mugi took over Jim. That's ok though, it's why I picked two characters to begin with.

Frank held onto her, as she began screaming at the door. It had opened once more, but nothing came through. Another gust of wind.
She must had seen something though, he held onto her writhing body close to her.
"I'm going to put her in the bedroom, maybe she can get some sleep."
He picked her up from the ground, and moved into the bedroom.
"There you go," he said, putting her on the still clothed bed, "Shhhh, just relax."
He grabbed the sheets and pulled them tightly over here. He sat by her side, holding her head comforting.
"Go to sleep, in the morning, we'll leave. Go see a doctor," his words were soft, pleasing.

OOC: sorry my mistake! hehe

Lily's shivering finally stopped as Franks sootheing words penetrated her frightened mind. She reached up and lightly touched him strange hair and laughed softly "it's actually not to bad if you get used to it" a smile hovered on her lips as she attempted to make conversation. Anything to take her mind off what was happening.

"I thought fixing the chainsaw might come in handy for cutting up the wood... How the hell was I supposed to know there were going to be bloodthirsty zombies, evil trees, and the wicked bitch of the west flying around here?!? YOU NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING LIKE THAT WHEN YOU TOLD ME ABOUT THIS GODFORSAKEN HUNTING TRIP!!" A tic was developing in his cheek, but he ignored it. "You take point, I'll back you up." He quickly re-loaded his shotgun. "Lets do this and get the fuck back inside."

Like in some bad horror movie...

As if on cue, the door to the woodshed burst open and the sound of a roaring chainsaw cut through the night as the still headless zombie leapt from the shed. Deeper in the shed, amidst the clutter of the floor, another disembodied head lay beneath a pile of tarps. The face was unrecognizable, having nearly been split in two by something. It’s white eyes watched silently as it’s body advanced on the pair.

Nate stared at the ghastly image before him, a headless, chainsaw wielding zombie. This was beyond horror movie.. His mind simply failed to accept the reality of the sight his eyes beheld. He managed to snap himself out of his slight daze and yelled to his two companions. "DON'T HIT THE CHAINSAW OR IT'LL BLOW!" Without another word Nate took a deep breath and let it out three quarters of the way. He brought his shotgun up, aimed, and fired all five of its shells into the thing's elbows, trying to blow its arms off.

Jeremy (S-Mart Security)

I watched as Nate fired five shots at the thing. The buckshot scattered and struck bone here and there, but was basically ineffective. The pellets moved right between bones and tore through flesh, exiting the thing's back and sinking into the woodshed's walls.
Better learn from our mistakes, i thought, and depressed the safety, not bothering to waste bullets. It danced forward humming.
Who the Fuck is Ash? I thought, and a shiver crept through me, like a repassing dream.
Before I could think further on it, the chainsaw buzzed past my head. I ducked beneath it and thrusting the shotgun forward, poking the barrel into her stomach (or what was left of it) and pushing her backward.
I swung the shotgun like a club then, knocking her down. SHe dropped the chainsaw, but was already reaching over to pick it up.
"Okay, kid," I shouted. "Get the shovel, and let's get to work here..."
