Firstly, interesting weekend at Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian F1 Grand Prix. Oscar took another step forwards, Lando seemed to be plagued by a series of minor mistakes, meaning he never got the chance to pressurize the Aussie into overloading his softer tyres.

Bit older than most of you here, being in my 60s now, actually remember the classic 1976 season, made into the 'Rush' film, featuring James Hunt & Niki Lauda. First GP attended was the 1977 British at Silverstone.

Does the original poster mind if other motor sports than just F1 are mentioned here? Ask this because to be honest i'm more of a 2-wheel man, although i do follow and enjoy 4-wheel sport, particular F1. But what a price difference, 3 day Grandstand ticket for British Moto GP is about £150. Equivalent for F1 is about £600. Guess which i attend almost every year?

I know this is an F1 thread but anyone follow rally racing? Any suggestions on where to go and watch? Not sure it deserves its own thread

At Zandvoort today, Lando took P1 in FP3 with a pace 6/10ths faster than his pole qualifying time last year at the same track.

Where do you think improvement like that is coming from? The car or the driver or both?

Ah, nevermind, I checked and find the conditions were wet as hell last year. It's kind of amazing the delta isn't a lot greater

Rant and rave here about all things F1.
Welp, a new season is about to open and

(almost) all these guys are still just as pretty as ever!

There's one exception, and he's a dog in every other way too, not just his face.

This video is pretty informative on what's changing this year. Hopefully it leads to more overtaking as they claim

How is everyone enjoying this season? Definitely seems more fun with a lot more overtaking. cars are seemingly faster. It looks like Mercedes will run away with both championships this time, especially with the Middle East races off the calendar.
To me, Piastri was the revelation last season and this season it seems to be Antonelli. It's good for racing, I think that the younger drivers are pushing the established ones.
