Firefly/Serenity Revisited. OOC Thread/Casting Call.

I know the scarred adrenaline letdown and coppery taste that follows the putting down of a group attack.

I first felt the heavy metal of a revolver(yes,I'm old),in my hands at the age of eight.

I have,very recently,made a grown man shrink before me and pray.

I have played "stupid" during many of my past...let's call them "incarnations", when I sensed that it would serve me.

I have provided "protection" for several different kinds of people over the years.

I have,at times,begun a sentence without using the word "I".

If you want a "Jayne" who can provide something other than comic relief,then consider me for the role.

And don't fret about "finding him pussy". If I get frustrated,I'll take it out on someone in another thread.

You'll make a perfect Jayne. As for pussy, I had a vague notion that Jayne and Saffron would make an explosive match. She's all devious cunning and Jayne's so immune to that it'll bounce right off. Obviously it really depends on what Lilybean and yourself think of this idea, there'll be plenty of time to round up love interests for you both on other worlds.

When it comes to this forum, the skilled writers seem to be female more often than male. A lot of the guys who just come here looking for one sentence cyber threads could never write complex enough to handle a Firefly storyline, or at least they're not interested in trying.

Anyways, thanks for including me. I'll do my best to play Simon well. My offer to play Mal will stand if you end up not finding anyone, though. Writing is like acting for me really, so I'd also do my best to play him with what you had in mind, though it would be harder than playing Simon. Either way I'm content. I'm quite fond of Kaylee and the River/Simon interactions.

I'd also be able to take on various one-shot characters for jobs and such if you ever need.

It wouldn't be a FF/S thread without some colourful Chinese so here's a link for words and phrases as used in the 'verse.

Firefly/Serenity Chinese Pinyinary

I think, at least to start with, use of Chinese phrases should be followed by a translation at the foot of the post. To avoid confusion, I think we should all stick to this one pinyinary and the westernised spellings that it uses.

Here's a list of FF/S planets and moons, which we may or may not stick to. No reason why we can't use a bit of poetic licence and invent a world or two.

I'm also thinking we should cast someone to play an Alliance official of some kind, who can represent the Alliance's presence in the 'verse.

Which brings us to plotwork. How shall we open this thread and where will our first job offer take us? All thoughts and input gratefully received.

As ever, if there's something I haven't covered or considered, please feel free to call me on it. I'm pretty much making this up as I go along.

If there is a spot you think this goram fan can fit in, let me know. I have all the shows/movie on DVD, so I can brush up PDQ.

And as a Male, who (* gasp *) can write lots of words in a post, and can hold off on the sex stuff until applicable, I think I can do the job

I'll go and slink back off Miranda way and wait and see what happens.

I agree. In fact, it would make sense for Mal to want Jayne to keep a close eye on her. There obviously has to be something in it for Saffron, because otherwise she wouldn't be there. There's no reason why she can't mellow a little, for a while at least, as tension between her and Jayne hots up. I'm thinking it might be better to open the thread and then pick her up on job 1, throwing the cat among the crew and causing friction. People will disagree as to whether she should be on board and Saffron will have to prove she can be loyal for more than 5mins at a time in order to stick around.

Maybe there is this benefactor who enjoys pitting people against each other, so he sets up a challenge and invites a few different crews under the pretense that he has a job for them; however, all he is hiring them for a contest - first crew to retrieve said item (gotta come up with an item) gets paid. Maybe the item will take them straight into Alliance heavy territory? Or off onto one of the rural world?

Actually, coming up with an angle that would make Saffron the map or guide would be awesome and a forced reunion seems more likely.

Hmm...perhaps this is even a bit of game between the men. They continuous steal this statue from one another and Safforn knows the current holder of the statue because she once conned him.

Now, why is Saffron there? Was she invited or is she crashing the party?
