Flaunting the Fitness

You look amazing!!
I haven't been to a fitness center in many years, but after having lost 60 kg's over the last 14 years, and surgery to remove excess skin on my stomach in October, and a breast lift 8 weeks ago I'm going to start in October after a vacation to get my upper body muscles toned. On a good work day I walk between 20-30000 steps, and ride a bicycle a good bit as well, so I have strong legs.

😁 Thanks!

I haven’t really done anything but put on cute workout clothes, but thanks! 😄

Yay! Thank you! I know you have some pics to share too, hotcpu. 😁

Thank you. I understand feeling the pressure of a personal fitness goal. What kind of surgery are you preparing for (if I may pry)?
I'm getting bypass surgery... I'm a diabetic, and have sleep apnea. I've reached a plateau in weight loss.

Everyone has their own reasons to start getting healthier.
For me, it’s been my mental health.
Before I started running, I had so many bad days.
There was a particularly bad day that left me crying on the phone to my sister in an empty bathtub for hours about all the pressure I was feeling that finally lead me to seek something just for me.
Now I’m running almost daily, and with that comes needing better nutrition to run further or faster, and the time that I spend with myself outside when before I was indoors ALL the time… that’s been priceless.

With your job being intense and indoors, mostly inside a closed windowless air conditioned operating room, spending time out in the vast open spaces is a must to keep a balance and allow deep breathing of natural air.

It seems that you are feeling better for your change in outlook.

Thank you for sharing that, Moochieanu.

A gorgeous place to get fit.
Health and mental fitness are intimately linked. It is so good to read you now feel better and this is having effect on your eating and giving you ambition to run faster.

It really is a great place to be outside. I dunno so much about my ambitions yet, as it’s only been since the middle of June that I started this journey, but I’m definitely feeling better, stronger, both physically and mentally. 🌷

Thank you for sharing about your experience and a lovely picture 😊

Thanks, Ice. Doing what I can to get myself through this crazy life. 😊

definitely a beautiful place to go for a run or hike and you look amazing

Thank you. I’m so blessed to live in a truly beautiful place. 😊

Wow! That much weight loss sounds like you’re getting yourself very healthy. Congratulations. 🌷

Most days are better. I like to take each one at a time lately. You’re right, most days before I started running, I wouldn’t even see the sun. Now I’m seeing the sun rise through trees or over the ocean while I run. Nature can be absolutely breathtaking and it’s great to be reminded of it daily. 🌷

Thank you for sharing that, Moochienanu.

I think it means more to know someone’s motivations. Glad to see you, sexfan. 🌷

I try and workout but I find myself always lacking in the motivation to stick with it

That’s a little bit of why I started this thread, so we can cheer each other on as we work towards our goals. Thank you for sharing! 😊

I have a bit of a minimalist running outfit. Gif in the link

This made me giggle so hard! Thank you! 😊

Facing a heart surgery is scary, and it definitely sounds like you have some tough physical barriers, but they’re not unconquerable. If you don’t already have one, you should see about chatting with a diabetic educator (it’s an advance practice nurse who specializes in helping people with diabetes) about your upcoming CABG and what you can do about your weight before it. Good luck. 🍀

I feel you so much!
Two years ago it was the same for me
I am the classic guy who starts eating when ever my mental health is bad
At one point I had to decide get fit again or lose the control over my physical and mental health
So I started to go for regular runs
And exactly this decision was the break point for me
After that I not only got mentally healthy again I also got my fit body back

So I feel what you mean by every word!
It is nice to hear from people who feel the same and managed to get better like me ☺️

Happy that you are feel well now 🥰

Sorry, I meant gastric bypass...

Here is my before and after photos from this morning’s run.
You know what I like best about these pics? It's the attitude. Absolutely love it. Keep running and keep your positivity. Running/good aerobic exercises without over doing are the best way to show yourself love.
