Flight into the future (closed for haremfaery)

Katie had to laugh. "I'm always up for flirting. I don't know if you will be. But it sure looks like you haven't had any R&R in awhile." She left to get the sewing kit.

"You're allowed to yell. I won't think any less of you. Frankly, I'm surprised that you're still coherent. I'll go get something for you." Katie thought she should check the medicine cabinet and see if they had any antibiotics, or anything for pain. She was sure there was some percocet, maybe something stronger from when she pulled the muscle in her back.

"Okay, I'll get you something to bite on." She jumped up again and went to the kitchen. She came back with a linen dishtowel. She knelt by him and folded the towel. She handed it to him.

"Anything else? Are we ready to do this?" She made sure she had everything she needed close at hand. She took the hemostat and positioned herself so that she could pull the shrapnel out in one swift movement. She hoped. Then she would clean the wound and sew it up. And pray it didn't get infected.

((You can take the 'operation' from here so Rex can react or pass out or whatever he's going to do.))

Before Katie could get started Rex pulled his dog tags off from around his neck, “if any thing should happen to me would you see that my parents get these.” Then he thought about where he was and frowned, “well maybe my sister is still alive or maybe she might have had kids. In any event would you try to find someone that might want to know what happened to me.” He laid the dog tags in the palm of her hand. “One last thing do you think it would be too much to ask if I could have a kiss from the prettiest girl that I have ever known?” Katie smiled and leaned down and gave Rex a kiss.

“Ok I’m ready go to it.” He took the rolled up towel and put it between his teeth and clamped down on it knowing that if the pain got too much he would just more than likely pass out. All he could think of was that kiss and the potential that may have been behind it. Rex closed his eyes and felt excruciating pain the moment she started to pull the shrapnel from his leg. He screamed into the towel his teeth nearly biting through the material. He could hear her say ’I think I got it’ then all he could remember was taking the towel out of his mouth and yelling “Morphine.”

When Rex finally came to he was lying in a bed with the covers over him. He could feel a dull pain in his leg. Katie was there when he opened his eyes. He was able to muster a weak grin, “were you able to save my leg Doc?”

Katie felt her eyes tearing up. If this was some actor trying to get into his part, he was doing an excellent job. If it was really true and Rex was somehow transported into the future, it was even sadder.

When Rex asked for a kiss, how could she deny him? She knelt next to the couch and leaned over. She put one hand on his cheek and kissed him on the lips. Her own parted a little and she kissed his lower lip. the kiss was long and slow and tender. She pulled away. Her eyes shone with unshed tears.

She swallowed. "Okay. Here we go."

Katie tried to work quickly. She couldn't imagine how badly this must hurt. She thought it was a blessing that Rex passed out. She cleaned up his leg and sewed the wound with a sterilized needle. She found antibiotics that she could give him. They were a refill that she ended up not needing when she had gotten a sinus infection. She hoped they would be strong enough.

She checked his pulse, it was a little fast, but it was strong and his breathing seemed okay. She got sheets and a real pillow and made up the couch as best she could into a bed. She heated up some soup in the kitchen and made herself a sandwich. She could feed Rex when he woke up. She sat on the floor next to him checking him every now and again.

She took his knapsack and went through it. She felt bad looking through his things but she needed to try and understand what was going on. ((You can write what she finds in there--does he smoke, for instance?)) The things looked worn from use, but not as if they came from an antique shop or anything like that. She felt a strange creepy feeling that Rex was telling the truth and he was actually from the past.

She was so relieved to see him awake. She smiled back, "Yes, but I don't think you'll ever be able to play the violin again." She hoped he didn't really play it, she didn't want to freak him out. "How are you feeling? Do you think you could eat some soup? Then I have antibiotics for you to take. How bad is the pain? I have some pain pills for you, too. You should probably take something sooner rather than later." She had found the morphine in his knapsack, but she wasn't sure if he should have something that strong, or what sort of dose to give him.

As Rex focused on his surroundings better he realized that he was still on the couch where he started from. Katie had apparently made it up like a bed. It was still much more comfortable than the thin mattress he had been sleeping on in the barracks at the airfield. When asked how he felt, Rex was brought back to reality and the extreme pain in his leg, “it hurts quite a bit. Do you think you got all the metal out. Aren’t you a regular Florence Nightingale, all you need is a white uniform and a little white cap. You could be my nurse anytime.” All he could muster was a weak grin. “There is a syringe of morphine in my knapsack. I think that it would be a good thing to give me a shot of that. It is a measured dose so you can’t give me too much.”That is when he glanced over and saw the contents of his knapsack strewn out on the table in front of the sofa. It hit him that this was the extent of his life, some first aid supplies, one can of rations, ammunition for his revolver, compass, German/English translator and most of all a syringe of morphine. “You should keep all the stuff in my knapsack and someday you can tell your grandchildren that you saved the life of a WWII fighter pilot in 2010.”

“I think I could eat some soup it seems like forever that I have eaten anything at least not in this century anyway. You might have to feed me because I’m not sure that I am up to sitting up just yet.” That’s when it hit him that he was still dressed in only his boxer shorts and there was only a sheet covering him. She had to have moved him around to get the sheet under him. He blushed knowing that at times boxers can offer little coverage depending on how they were situated. Katie could very well have gotten a glimpse of his manhood thru the fly in his shorts. Just the thought caused his cock to stir.

“So Katie besides riding horses and saving wounded pilots what else do you do? I know one thing your boyfriend isn’t going to be happy with you playing nurse for me.”

"I only saw one piece. Once you passed out I cleaned it pretty good. I think I would have seen any other pieces." Katie said. If she has missed something, she would have to take him to the hospital and deal with the fallout.

"For someone in pain, you sure are flirty. Yes, I saw the syringe. That's going to knock you out, I think. I don't know for how long." Katie laughed. "I know I shouldn't, but I believe you. That you somehow flew your plane right into the future. Maybe it's because I read too much science fiction. Maybe I'm crazy. But if we can't find a way to get you back where you belong...things could get complicated."

"I'll get the soup and then after you eat, I can give you the morphine. I do have some pain pills, I don't think they are as strong as the morphine, but they'll have to do. They made me pretty happy when I pulled a muscle in my back." She smiled at the memory of how silly she had been. Everything was funny to her and everything she said was funny. Her friends thought she was just hysterical.

"Let's see if we can prop you up and then I'll feed you." Katie disappeared to go to the kitchen. She had some chicken and barley soup in the fridge. It was part of a big batch her mom had made. They froze most but left some out. She set the soup on the coffee table. She grabbed a few throw pillows to put underneath the bed pillow Rex was resting on. "If you can just lean forward a little, I'll stuff this pillow behind you. On three."

She got Rex settled without too much pain. She sat on the floor so she could feed him. "I'm going to college--business administration. I help mom and dad with the farm. We call it a farm, but it's been a bed and breakfast for years now. We get some local companies who use the place for business meetings. Some people come and stay to enjoy the antique shops, or just to get away to someplace a little romantic, or do enjoy the riding or the hiking trails." She looked at Rex. "I guess my boyfriend would be a little miffed--if I had a boyfriend. I broke up with a guy a few months ago. I haven't dated anyone since."

“Katie, I am so sorry. It is totally inappropriate for me to be flirting with a young girl that I barely know. I hope you will accept my apology. I think that what with the pain and just the whole situation has jarred my sense of propriety. As for the morphine it is just a light dose enough to take the pain away till one can be evacuated to a field hospital but not enough to render a person unconscious.”

She had spoke of some soup to eat and went in to the kitchen and in very short order was back with a bowl of steaming hot chicken soup. “Do you always keep soup heated on the stove in the event a wounded stranger from the past drops in on you?” Katie had propped him up on the sofa and sat on the floor to feed him. As she began to feed him the soup she started to tell him about herself, about going to college and helping her parents on the farm. Rex thought back to helping his father on their farm back in Kansas. They raised wheat and milo and an occasional crop of alphalfa.

Again she mentioned a bed and breakfast. “What is this bed and breakfast that you have mentioned before? You rent out a bed for a stranger to sleep in then serve them breakfast in the morning? That seems to be an awfully strange practice. Do you have bunks made up out in the barn?” Rex figured that the bed and breakfast must do fairly well as they had a real nice house if not furnished rather strangely.

Rex’s ears perked up when Katie mentioned about not having a boyfriend. This was a girl that he thought would be nice to date. “Uh Katie when did you say that your father was going to be home? If you don’t mind I would like to ask his permission to call on you. Although I don’t have any idea where I am going to be staying. That and I have no clothes appropriate to wear to call on a pretty girl such as yourself.”

"Hey, it's alright. There's no law that says you aren't allowed to flirt. I just think maybe you should take it easy for awhile." Katie patted his arm.

"The soups was already made, I just nuked it." She fed him another spoonful.

"You don't know what a Bed and Breakfast is? I guess it's sort of like a hotel. Or an old fashioned inn. People rooms and they get one meal a day--breakfast. Most people come here because it's romantic. There are quaint things they can spend the day doing. And at night, they stay in one of our romantic rooms. They have antique furniture and fireplaces. Back in the day, it was a boarding house." Katie laughed. This is a big ol' farm house, we have thirteen guest rooms here in the house. We can host 26 people easily, more if we fill all the beds." She fed him more soup.

"My parents are gone on a vacation this week. We try to fit things around when the place isn't in use. We get lots of people between Christmas and New Years. This year, we didn't have bookings for the week, so they took advantage of it." She looked at him and frowned a little. "You want to ask my dad permission? You don't have to ask anyone's permission but me."

"The soups was already made, I just nuked it." Rex stopped before taking another spoonful of soup, “and just what is nuked it mean?” He gave her a quizzical look wondering if this was something that he should be eating.

Rex remembered back to when they would have farm help stay in their bunk house during harvest and they would pay a dollar a day which included their meals. He was wondering how much a room for a night with breakfast would be in 2010. He figured that it would probably be at least 10 times as much. With a full house that would be over $260 a night.

"So do you live here with your parents and if they are on vacation does that mean you are here all by yourself?" Suddenly Rex was worried about where he would go. He couldn’t stay here with Katie living alone here that just wouldn’t be right. “It just wouldn’t be right to ask you out without asking your father’s permission. Although I’m not sure how he is going to feel about a fighter pilot from 1944 wanting to date his daughter.” Now she would know that he was interested in her. What if she was just waiting for him to get better so she could get rid of him.

"I reheated it in the microwave. It's faster than the stove. It vibrates the molecules to heat them up." Sure, Katie, he would understand that. "I'm not really sure how it works really, I only know that it does."

((haha, wait till he finds out how much a loaf of bread costs.))

"I probably shouldn't tell you--in case you are an ax murderer or something, but yes, I'm here by myself." Rex was in no shape to do anything to her, so she wasn't all that worried about him. She was more worried about how she would explain a WWII pilot to her parents.

"Dude, it's the 21st century. Guys don't have to ask fathers before they ask girls out." Katie smiled and shook her head. "I agree, I'm much more worried about explaining you to my parents, now that I suppose I believe you because as Sherlock Holmes said, 'when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'"

She fed Rex more of the soup. He was nearly finished. "Rex. I'm the first girl you've met--the ONLY girl you've met since you arrived and you want to date me. I think you need to get your strength back and we get some things figured out before we worry about dating."

He was looking a little pale again. She wondered if she should give him that shot of morphine.

Rex forced himself to sit up a little bit. “Show me this thing that you called a microwave. I would like to see what kind of device can heat up soup so much faster than the burner on the stove with the flame up high.”

An ax murderer? Is that what she thought of him. Maybe she got that impression because he had a 45 cal. Revolver strapped to his waist when she first saw him. Maybe ax murderers were more common in the 21st Century. “I assure you Katie I have no interest at all in causing you any harm."

“You know of Sherlock Holmes? I have read many of the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I grew up reading his books when ever I could get my hands on one.” Rex was in awe that books that were so old by now still were known and apparently even read by the people in 2010.

Rex’s heart dropped when she made the comment about figuring things out before worrying about dating. It was obvious that she had no interest in him but to get him better and probably figure out how to get rid of him. All he could think about was how back home the pretty girls were so few and far between. And what few young available girls there were they didn’t stay that way very long. For the first time since arriving at this place Rex felt lonely and all alone. The tears welled up in his eyes and he turned his head not wanting Katie to see him cry.

"Shouldn't you stay still? What if you fall? Won't it make your leg hurt more? I thought you said you wanted the morphine?" Katie asked. Maybe the pain was making Rex stupid. "I can, but I think you should stay put for now. What if you start to bleed again? I can turn on the TV and let you watch it until you fall asleep." That's what her mother always let her do when she was sick. But not in the main living room.

"I was sort of teasing about the ax murdered thing. If you wanted to hurt me could could have shot me back at the plane."

"Sur. I've only read some of the Holmes stories, but I've seen a bunch of movies and TV shows. And I have some books by an author who continued the stories by having Holmes in retirement and taking on a female apprentice of sorts. I'll bring it to you when you are up to reading." Katie tried to think of other books that they would both know, but she was drawing a blank. She would have to look some things up on the internet.

Katie felt Rex's mood change. She frowned a little. "Rex. What's wrong? Are you in pain?" She put a hand on his arm and leaned in to look at him. "What can I do for you? Do you need the morphine?"

Rex had never in his life felt so alone. Not even when flying at 30,000 feet all alone in the cockpit of his fighter. When Katie put her hand on his arm and asked what was wrong he turned to her tears in his eyes unable to hide the saddness that he was feeling. “Katie if I truly have traveled through time and landed in the 21st century with no clue as to how I might ever get back to my time then I am all alone here. You are the only person in the whole world that I know. To my knowledge I have no family or friends, I left them all back 66 years ago.”

He reached out and pulled her to him laying his head on her shoulder beginning to cry. “What is going to become of me. How are you going to get rid of me when I am better and able to walk?“ Rex raised his head from her shoulder and his eyes locked with hers. He starred into her beautiful hazel eyes and reached his hand up to run his fingers through her gorgeous red hair. Without thinking he pulled her too him and kissed her, pressing his lips to hers wanting something from her but not really sure what that was.

The kiss was brief and Rex have expected to be slapped across the face for being so forward. “I’m sorry Katie, I don’t know what came over me. Please forgive me.” He could ill afford to have the only person he knew in this strange new world mad at him.

Katie felt so sorry for Rex. She could not imagine being plunked alone in a strange place, let alone a strange time. Everyone he knew was dead or very old. So many things he didn't understand about this world. her heart went out to him.

She put her arms around him. When he kissed her, it took her by surprise. The kiss was too brief for her to decide if she was going to respond or not. She kept her arms around him a bit longer.

"It's all right. We are so prudish in the 21st century." Katie assured him.

"We could try and see if any of your relatives are alive, or if they have children... but I don't think that would be such a good idea. Think how strange that would sound."

"I can try to contact someone who could help send you back to your own time, but we would have to be careful. I'm afraid some people would want to keep you under wraps and try to figure out what happened. That would not be a good thing." Katie was thinking out loud. "I'm sure once I explain to my parents you can stay here as long as you like. But we can worry about all these things later. Right now you need to heal. Do you want the morphine?" She stroked his hair.

Rex was glad that she hadn’t slapped him for the kiss that he stole from her. Even though it didn’t last very long the feel of her lips against his had been electrifying. That and she kept her arms around him for a bit longer than the kiss. The feel of her body against his caused his heart to beat a bit more rapidly and his breathing to increase. How he hoped that she wasn’t able to tell that he was getting turned on by her.

“How would we go about finding out if I have any living relatives. We would probably have to go back to Kansas where I grew up. Thinking about it if I did have any nieces or nephews they would be in their 60’s more than likely. It might not be too big of a shock if they were approached in the right way. I have no idea how I would get their. Maybe I could fly my plane there but that might be a bit difficult to do.” Rex was rambling nearly over whelmed with his situation pretty much knowing that he was never going to be able to get back to the time that he had left.

Katie had mentioned the morphine asking whether he needed it or not as she ran her fingers through his hair. Rex just closed his eyes enjoying the feel of her fingers in his hair, “I’ve been thinking about so much else I have almost forgotten about the pain. My leg hurts but nothing that I can’t live with. Maybe we had better hold off on the morphine for now nurse Katie,” he smiled.

"I can see if I can find any of your relatives on the internet. I know you don't know what that is, but one of the things it can do is help you look up information really quickly. So much is at your fingertips. I'll get the laptop in a minute." Katie felt like she was doing a horrible job of explaining these things. She was a visual learner herself and she thought showing Rex her laptop would be more helpful.

"No, no. No flying your plane is not happening. They'd think you were a terrorist and shoot you down. In fact, I'm surprised you didn't show up on radar somewhere. You were lucky."

Katie smiled. "Okay. But if it gets really bad let me know. I'm going to get you the antibiotic. I also have something that I think will take the edge off the pain. I got them when I pulled a muscle really bad. It really helped. Made me a little silly and I couldn't drive, but it took the pain away." She helped Rex settle back on the couch. "I'll be right back."

Katie went upstairs to find the meds and her laptop. She came back down in short order and set the things on the coffee table. "I'll get you a gals of water." She disappeared into the kitchen and came back with the water. She knelt next to the couch and handed Rex the capsule and water.

She opened her tote and pulled out the laptop. She opened t up and turned it on. "Did you have computers in 1940-whatever?" She let the lappy cycle through to the desktop. She opened her browser. "Kansas, you said? What last name should I try? Did you have any brothers?"

She pulled some kind of flat device out of a cloth bag. It was hinged and opened up like a book, but there were no pages. She pushed a button and it wasn’t long before images appeared on some kind of screen. Opposite the screen was a key board some what like what he had seen on a typewriter. She pushed a couple of buttons and the screen changed with all sorts of words and pictures on it. Rex reached out and ran his hand onto the screen. It felt like a pane of glass.

Yes, Kansas and the last name is Burten. I had a sister Mary and a brother William. They were both younger than me. The last time I saw them was in the fall of 1944 when I shipped out for England. My sister was 20 and my brother was only 17. That would make my sister 86 and my brother 83. If they are still alive they may very well have grandchildren now or for that matter even great grand children. I would probably have to go to Topeka the capitol of Kansas and search through records to see if I could find any information on my family. Maybe even go to the county seat where I grew up”

Every time Katie pushed some buttons on the keyboard the images would change in a blink of an eye. She was typing faster than he could keep up and the images kept changing. Rex had no idea what this device did and where the images were coming from. He just knew that he was feeling a bit better and the pain had started to subside. He leaned back on the sofa and watched Katie as her fingers ran over the key board. Rex reached out his hand and put it on her back rubbing gently.

Katie watched as Rex looked with wonder at her laptop. She remembered some quote about any technology being sufficiently advanced looked like magic, or something. She imagined that's what it must be like for Rex.

Katie typed in 'William Burten' on the lookup page. An 83 year old could very well be alive and listed. Rex's sister probably got married and would be much harder to track down. "We can do a lot of research right here online. We don't have to go to the county seat to get information like you used to--or send letters and whatnot. A lot of people have put genealogical information online now. But the site I'm on--that's just like one big national phone book."

((You'll have to decide if she can find a phone number.))

""But I still think we should wait before we contact your relatives. I mean--it would freak me out if I got a phone call in my eighties from my brother who just got transported through time." She leaned forward, "Aha." She lifted the laptop so Rex could see it.

Rex couldn’t believe what was coming up on the screen as Katie typed on the keyboard. It wasn’t like a typewriter that typed the letters each finger touched line after line. She would type a series of letters and the screen would change and included pictures. He couldn’t imagine where this was all coming from. This hinged device that she had in her lap wasn’t more than an inch thick.

“What is this online that you keep talking about? My parents phone number is … well I guess was NI-22816. It was a party line that our family shared with 7 other neighbors. What do you suppose would happen if you called that number now. Do you think there would be any chance that someone in my family could still have the same number?”

Rex thought about what she was saying about calling and trying to reach a relative on the phone. That would be quite a shock “Maybe it would be best to try and track down any relatives I might still have alive and find out where they live and figure out a way of somehow me going to meet them in person.”

He was getting hot sitting on the sofa under the covers that she had provided so he reached down and threw them off not realizing that he was still only dressed in the boxer shorts that he had been wearing. To add to his embarrassment his dick which had been hard earlier and poking out of his shorts was now soft but still out from the open fly and clearly visible to Katie sitting right next to him. His one hand was still resting on her back where he had been rubbing her and his other came up quickly to try and cover himself.

Katie scratched the back of her head absently while she tried to think how to explain how computers and the internet worked. She didn't really know herself.

"Some things on on my laptop itself. But being online is like being connected to dictionaries and atlases and encyclopedias and newspapers...all sorts of things all over the world that you can search. Or like a giant card catalog at the library." She was sure she wasn't doing a good job of this at all. Talk about Future Shock. Poor Rex.

"Phone numbers have changed since then. We now have area codes and no one uses those letters anymore. So, I suppose they might have the same number...but with the area code in front. No more party lines either." She wasn't even going to mention cell phones. Not yet, anyway.

"I still think contacting them at all may not be the best thing to do...at least not for awhile. First we have to get you healthy."

It was then that he flung off his covers. Katie looked away quickly when she realized Rex had exposed himself to her. Her cheeks burned.

"I, uh. Maybe I should take your temperature. If you have a fever that means an infection." Then what the hell was she going to do? "Or maybe I should go find you some pajama bottoms to wear. How are you feeling?" She carefully kept her eyes on his face and felt his forehead. "Can I get you anything?"

“Maybe you could get me my gun and I could put myself out of my misery. Katie actually I am feeling fine. I am so grateful for all that you have done for me. Maybe it would be best if I did have something else to wear so I can quit embarrassing myself and you”

Rex was struggling to understand her explanation of the internet. He was familiar with the card catalog at the library. He used to use it a lot in college when doing research for a paper. He would look up a topic and the cards would tell him where to go in the library to find a book on the subject. He watched the screen change every time she typed a few words. The pictures and information that kept coming up on the screen in a mere instant was unbelievable.

“You are probably right about not trying to contact possible family members right now. With your excellent care I shouldn’t be laid up too long and in your hair. How does it feel to be the only person in the whole world that I know. And the only person that you know close to your own age from 1944?"

Katie frowned and twisted so she could look at Rex. "Don't even talk like that. I have you gun locked up in the safe." Then she laughed. I have two older brothers, it's not like I don't know what a penis looks like. But it is a little weird having you flash me." She smirked. "At least it's nothing to be ashamed of." She cleared her throat.

"I have to say, this is very strange. I keep thinking I'll wake up. But it has to be weird for you. I can't even wrap my brain around how it happened or what I'm going to do with you. In this day and age you need a social security card, a driver's license...Things could get tricky. But...one thing at a time."

She put the laptop on Rex's chest. Take a look at these and see if you think any of them could be a relative." The screen had had names and addresses under Burten in his hometown. "You use this to move the cursor, do this the scroll the screen so you can see more. Play with it a bit if you want. I guess I'll have to teach you how to use the laptop. That should help while away some time for you." She stood up, "Okay, be right back."

Katie trotted upstairs to get a pair of her brother's pajama bottoms. When she came back down she said, "How about I look at you leg and see if I need to change the dressing before we get these on you?"

"At least it's nothing to be ashamed of." Rex was taken a bit by surprised had she really commented on his penis. He knew that he was not too small. A lot of the English girls he had met at the pubs around the airfield had seemed to be appreciative of his dick and he had always seemed to be able to please them. This was different though and quite strange to hear it from Katie. Rex must surely have turned several shades of red.

“What is a social security card and what is a drivers license?” Rex realized that even though he found himself propelled into the future landing in the US the language had changed tremendously. It seemed that every other word out of Katie’s mouth was foreign to him. She had spoken of a micro wave that heated up soup faster than on the burner of a range. She told him the framed blank picture on the wall was a television and he still had no clue as to what that was.

“What the heck is a cursor?” There was a short list of names with the last name of Burten from around his home town. None of which meant anything to him. But he figured that there might be a possibility that some may very well be relatives of his.

She told him that she would have to teach him how to use a laptop so that it would help while she was away from him for some time. Rex frowned at the thought of Katie not being around. He wasn’t sure that he wanted to be alone just yet in this new world. He had never been as frightened as he was about the prospect of being left alone not even when engaged in a vicious dog fight with a German fighter. “Will you have to leave me? Where will you go and how long would you be gone?” Suddenly Rex realized that she was going to think that he was a chicken, scared of being left by himself. He tried to muster up his courage and not to show that he was afraid.

“Let me adjust my boxers before you take a look at my bandage. I wouldn’t want to embarrass you further. Then please be careful when you help me get those pajama bottoms on.”

Katie just grinned at Rex. She couldn't help it. The way he blushed made her feel safe. It was one thing to have an invalid in the house when she was all alone, but a healthy man? That could be a little scary.

((I did some research and Social security began in 1935, with income tax beginning in 1937. I don't know how it worked back then, so it's possible Rex would really know about it. However driver's licenses began back when cars became popular. So that he would know about. Wikipedia is my friend. Just sayin' :) ))

Katie rubbed her forehead. "Geez, I don't even know where to begin with all of this." Maybe she should find a timeline for Rex to read to get the high points of what he missed over the last 65 years.

"Hey, hey. Calm down. I'm just running upstairs, I'm not leaving." She patted his arm. "Is your leg is bothering you more than you realize?" She stood up. "I think maybe you've have too much excitement for one day. Let me take a look at your leg, then we'll get these pajama bottoms on you, and then we'll kick back and watch some old movies that won't freak you out and you can have a nap."

She smirked when Rex talked about adjusting his boxers. "Okay, let's see that leg."

((You can decide if the dressing needs changing just yet. Then Katie can get him into the PJs.))

“Katie my leg isn’t all that bad. It is just a bit sore and throbbing a little but nothing that is too uncomfortable. I think the pills that you gave me must have worked.” Once she checked the bandage and found that it wasn’t in too bad of shape she was going to have to help him on with the pajama bottoms as he wasn’t going to be able to bend his leg to get them pulled up. That meant that she would have to see him in his boxers again. He hoped that his manhood didn’t start acting up and poke it’s head out of the fly.

She talked about watching some old movies. He wondered exactly how old and would they actually be old to him or only to her. Rex remembered at a very early age going to the movie house in a neighboring town on a Saturday night with his parents to watch silent movies. He recalled that it wasn’t until the time of the depression in 1929 or there abouts that the movies came out with sound and you didn’t have to read what the actors were saying. When in HS he could remember taking a date to the Saturday movie and watching an actor by the name of John Wayne in The Three Musketeers a western serial. He even remembered the first sound movie that he ever saw and that was Romeo and Juliet. Norma Shearer played the role of Juliet and she was really cute.

Katie started to put the pajamas on over his legs bringing him out of his daydream. She worked the pants up over his knees and it was just about the time for the moment of truth. She was going to have to uncover him to slip the pants up to his waist as he tried to arch his back and raise his butt off the sofa. Rex thought that maybe he had better take a quick look to see if he was covered but Katie didn’t seem to mind one way or another as she pulled the covers off of him to pull the pajamas up.

Katie looked up at the clock on the wall. "I guess when you are ready to sleep I'll give you one of the pain pills, that should help you stay comfortable overnight."
She worked the pajama bottoms up Rex's legs being as careful as she could with the wounded one. The muscles in his legs were firm and he had a really nice chest. She snapped herself out of it. "Okay, on three." It was hard not to look at his crotch, she had to pull the pants up fast. She didn't want to hurt his leg. She got the pants over his butt when he lifted up. And another good look at his cock. Her cheeks went red. She pulled the sheet back over him. "Are you okay? Do you want to watch a movie and maybe take a nap?"
