Gator eats boy's pet turtle at Florida aquarium

FORT WALTON BEACH A horrified 8-year-old boy watched as his pet turtle disappeared into an alligator's jaws at an aquarium in the Florida Panhandle.

Colton Guthrie had donated his pet red-eared slider, Tomalina, to the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach when the turtle outgrew her home aquarium. Colton's mother told the Northwest Florida Daily News Tuesday that the family saw workers place Tomalina in an exhibit Thursday with other red-eared sliders and an alligator.

Although the alligator had long ignored the other turtles, Brenda Guthrie said the gator ate Tomalina as Colton shouted, "Oh no, alligator, let it go!"

The Gulfarium has apologized to the Guthries' and gave them a special meet-and-greet with the dolphins

Nice & cool here already tonight. The Harley from up front just left so I can go tip over til 4 am when it gets home. It's been a hard physcial day here & I have to be up early to load the truck for the 100th town bday party I have to work troop support wise tomorrow.

Yep it's nipply out there.
Been up since 4 when the Harley pulled in. Got some of the truck loaded & didn't break a sweat. It's even cool enough I can wear my hair down today.

Have fun. I have an event today & invted to the Voodoo lounge tonight but I might pass on that to crawl into the cave & sleep.

We don't actually have Navy here too often. But Fridays are my normal Military days. Today was a 12 hour event for me with some wonderful friends, professional music (southern rock) and we raised a ton of awareness as well as enough money to ship over 80 lbs of the Christmas care packages overseas.
