No way! Get a Hawaiian Blizzard! :)

Also, Butters, if you ever head this way, I'll take you to Skyline. Ignore those haters.

Run, Butters! Run!
Skyline and it's "suspiciously yellow cheese". You'd have better luck with good Italian at Fazoli's.

Now, the mint Oreo Blizzard...

run? could i stroll, perhaps? even as an a school athlete (swimming/gymnastics/badminton/trampolining etc...,) i was never a runner.

as to yellow cheese, sometimes it is just the right thing - like in a 1/4lber mac cheeseburger. wouldn't be the same thing without it! :D:D

died and went to heaven this morning: his ma'am made blueberry waffles, using buttermilk which she doesn't do normally. Hot, with butter, drizzled with maple syrup - Oh Em Gee

BEST thing i've eaten in the USA to date, and that's saying something.

hmmphhh! Probably berries the size of a draft horse's eye. Tiny wild blue berries, please.

Like Cali strawberries. They are the size of a fist some of them. But our local produced ones at a 1/4 of the size pack 10X the flavour. They use way to much water on crops in Cali. Just bloats them up and dilutes the flavour. Okay if selling by the pound I guess.

Fried green tomatoes!!!! Yes.

One of the best things about summer for sure. After they're all crispy fried I even use them on sandwiches. Wondering if they'd taste as good baked in the oven?

Buttermilk in place of milk in most batters makes them better. :)

his ma'am's peach pie served up with vanilla ice cream and a handful of fresh from the garden blueberries

How is the MIL's pecan pie?

not had that yet, or at least if i have its memory has gotten lost amongst all the others. i'm sure it'll be as awesome as her others.

re her apple pie, though: it's different to how i cook mine... i tend to use firmer chunks of apple, with a little tartness to offset the sweet... her filling is more cooked down to a sort of apple compote, almost. still tastes pretty damned good, but she likes food cooked for longer than my personal preference. like the broccoli and green beans - i prefer mine to have a firmer texture but hers still taste pretty good :)

Hallelujah!

The English have FINALLY learned not to destroy vegetables, by reducing ALL OF THEM to the consistency of mushy peas!

Good morning, Butters! :D

We have different apples here, we don't have the Bramley for instance, which is a nice cooking apple.

Cooking things longer is a previous generational thing.
