I am sorry if my loose lips sunk your Lit Ship, but those sailors need to know about our.. sprinkles.

When are you coming back?

and Our Spoon, too.

You cum to me, this time....*grins*

My 5-qt Calaphalon Dutch Oven has brought about a kitchen revolution.

Lamb stew cooked 2.5 hours @250 F in oven....meat was melting off the bones.

tort! thank you so much for posting the pictures! I'm off to order mine now:kiss:

Yay! I'm quite positive you will love it.

The book looks pretty cool!! Good job Collette and Tort! :rose: How long will it be available for purchase?

Thank you, sweets. As Collette said, there's no deadline.

Golly, I remember that recipe, it seems like such a long time ago, when it was posted.

Thank you dearlings, the two of you.

More than welcome, my friend. The book wouldn't exist without contributions from foodies like you.

mother of pearl!

a report from the hinterlands...
ala
the panapoly of
epicurean ecstasy(s)
at the nola jazzfest

tasted much
so much renewed...

but the mirleton!!!!

chayote squash
to those unaware...

casseroled with the holy trinity,
shrimp,
crawfish
and whoknowswhat spiceblend...

waited til the second day of the second week...

art neville, stevie wonder, a portentious afternoon rain...
zigaboo and cj chenier...

damn the mirleton!!!

a wonder still,
that so much is so strange
to not be tried...

the only disappointment was
so called
'crawfish bread'
a makeshift calzone of dubious construct....

catfish with a pecan-creme sauce,
beignets,
fresh fried cracklins,
and sausages of all types...

ahhh hell, the boudin and andouille!

the feast was for the ears...

the delicious treats were for
the service to the listening...

what great...
so great...

mirleton...

oh my!

I had this deep fried fish in Port ROyal, JA that was dressed with pickled chayote and peppers. You ate the whole thing, bones and all. Sooooo good.

If anyone is ever visiting Toronto.

I recommend a Greek place on the Danforth. It's called Mezes. I've been there a few times, and the food is always awesome. Even their salad is awesome. Mmmm... lamb kleftiko.

don't forget the sweet potato pies. or the coconut ones, either.

wish i had a shot of the pheasant and andouille gumbo.

the bad plus held their own.
so did richard thompson.
and trombone shorty gets my vote for best new find for me.
trombone shorty is a great find...

my find was caspar and the mighty 602 band (thursday)
and
a great afterfest side-party band from the uk,
the new mastersounds...
(hot instrumental grooves)
they played at hob as well...

snooks eaglin was ungodly good,
the raconteurs - a noisy mess...

so much... so much not seen.....

the food almost overwhelmed...
as well...

so much to try not tried...

next year?

i hate to be a fan of benny grunch,
but i'm nola...

and what a way to end...
radiators
v
nevilles
v
grunch
and d-trucks....

hadda stay near the gentilly
as the acura was a stink-mud-mess
and...

there were these particular belgian students who....

what a second weekend!

Some day, I must do JazzFest with you gentlemen.

Hey, CJack. Have you heard The Tallest Man on Earth? Acerbic Scandinavian troubador, with biting, funny lyrics. All his songs sound like old traditionals, unearthed rather than penned. I'm thinking you'd dig him.

i am making a paula dean recipe right now
i expect my arteries to be fully clogged by tomorrow

i'll report back if it turns out well

We all gotta go sometime. At least you'll shuffle off this mortal coil with a butter-slicked smile on your face.

:)

"Honey, I'm a cook, not a doctor."

I almost never cook like the woman, but I  her. Anyone who doesn't  Paula is not quite... right.

if i ate her food all the time i'd be as big as a house
but once in a while it's good to say fuck the fat and calories
