You've said this quite a few times now, at first I thought you were just engaging in election-year hyperbole.

Wat, in your opinion, will be the harbinger of the American demise? War? Famine? Financial Crisis? Homosexuals? Cat boxes in elementary school restrooms?

America has weathered all of the above before and still remains strong.

1. All empires eventually fall. 2. I think that the environmental crisis is the long-term threat. Short-term threats are potential nuclear war, political violence/terrorism, and some kind of Chinese economic collapse turning into a domino effect for us, prompted by a massive sell-off by desperate Chinese investors (normally, a good thing to regain our real estate and other assets, but all at once could trigger a housing crash). China's economy is very soft right now, and we could hedge against this by disengaging a bit more from China and becoming more self-reliant (and no, I'm not advocating a trade war). There are ways to reduce the risk. There are very practical ways to ward against that. I hope that our leaders have the foresight to do their part to prevent such things. That's all the more reason not to vote for a deranged, demented narcissist with autocratic leanings and delusions of grandeur.

As I said ....if you believe your civilization is in ending...in any real sense of the worst "ending", voting should not be your first response...especially if you believe you're trying to protect your family....because voting does not protect them in that situation.

Your emotional intensity in regard to Trump is driven by a narrow perspective and a defensive justification to maintain your hatred. There is no credible evidence for half of what you believe about Donald Trump. You've been brainwashed.

Exactly. Nothing good can come of it. Most folks would like to be left alone, and sensible government, if such can be found, would honor that. What bothers me is, it's more likely that sensible government is a forlorn fucking hope.
