There was once a state officially called the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Look it up. It's now something like 7 or 8 separate countries. What was once the Soviet Union is now 15 separate countries. NATO wanted to do the same to Russia, and imagined doing so after overthrowing Putin's government.

I have to say, if it was me running things, I'd be makimg sure Russian databases were hacked, getting addresses for every key person in Russian industry, finance and military, and using drones to target their homes or apartments at 2am, You'll generally get them then. Car bombs too. Gum up the works. Sand in the cogwheels. All the oligarchs who have kids and families overseas. Assassinations or car bombs and take their families all out. Make examples of them. Strip their bank accounts first tho. A little judicious persuasion. A few online xfers. And then just disappear them - bodiies thru a wood chipper and flush them away.

And target industrial plants during the day when more workers are there - kill key workers and even if the plant survives its effectiveness is reduced. Banks - target their data centers with mass drone attacks or cruise missiles and get their DR sites at the same time. Bring down the financial system by killing bank systems and bankers. Get the location of the bank IT Depts and blow the IT workers away. Heck, use drones to target ATM's and bak branches so cash can't go out. Hard to bring things back up if the IT workers are dead. Central bank? Blam. Govt Dept head offices. Blam. Water pumping stations. Electrical substations. Blam. Food supply? Blam.

All involved in the war. All legit targets.

Well, yeah.

And the Russians would deserve every bit of it.

It's not Siberia - Siberia is an arificial construct. There are numerous ethnic groups from the Volga on east, all of whin have been the victims of Russian colonization. This is probably as good as any, but even here some areas marked as Russian are dominated by other ethnic groups. Like Mari-El and Mordovia - both Volga Finnish groups.

Putin Announces Kursk Region Fully Liberated From Ukrainians​

Russia's top military leaders as well as President Vladimir Putin have on Saturday declared the full liberation of Russia's Kursk region, after Ukrainian forces invaded and occupied huge swathes of it starting last August.

The final fight was for the village of Gornal, which lies on the Ukrainian border. Fighting on the vicinity of the settlement became fierce earlier this month, and the tide was definitely in Moscow forces' favor after the capture of a key monastery complex. Russian forces accused the Ukrainian army of using the monastery as a military forward operating position.

Putin in a Saturday video address thanked Russian service members "who took part in defeating the neo-Nazi groups" who for over six months held hundreds of square kilometers of sovereign Russian territory. He declared the utter 'failure' of the invasion attempt.

"The Kiev regime’s adventure has completely failed, and the huge losses suffered by the enemy, including among the most combat-ready, trained and equipped, including by Western models of equipment… will certainly be reflected along the entire line of combat contact," he said.

Russia announced on Saturday that all Ukrainian troops have left the Kursk region.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made the announcement on Saturday after Ukraine President Zelenskyy met President Trump in Rome on Saturday.

Ukrainian officials have not publicly commented on the matter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine's incursion had “completely failed," according to the Associated Press.

I am not remotely interested in politics. But came across these pictures and found them to be interesting in that we already had NATO troops present and on the ground in the Ukraine since 2021.

Then as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve the largest shipment of US Tanks since the fall of the Soviet Union arrived in Bremerhaven, Germany. The equipment and 3,500 US troops will be deployed along NATO's eastern frontier.

Looks like that big material deliveries have been in the works and active all along.

Yes, before the war started, the US did exercises and training with Ukraine - I think it was the CA National Guard Air did regular annual exercises with them too

Ukraine has launched Brave1 Market, an online marketplace with the latest technologies for the Ukrainian military, Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced on April 28 during the Defense Tech Era conference. On the marketplace, military units can purchase equipment and weapons at their own expense. The minister compared the project to online marketplace Amazon, but instead of ordinary goods, the Ukrainian initiative will sell "innovations," he said.

"Brave1 Market will become the Amazon for the military, enabling units to buy the needed technologies on the front lines right now. This will help solve the problem of spreading effective technologies, as the military often does not know about solutions already available on the market that could help them complete their tasks more efficiently," Fedorov said.

Soldiers will be able to buy equipment and weapons with "ePoints" awarded to military units that confirm the destruction of Russian equipment using video recording from drones. According to the ministry, over 1,000 items, including drones, unmanned ground vehicles, electronic warfare and SIGINT (signals intelligence) systems, as well as components, AI-based technologies, software, and ammunition, are currently listed on the marketplace.

Ukrainian soldiers will also soon be able to leave reviews for specific products visible to other service members.
