For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

I can't get into specifics but I was on the sidelines of a couple wargames where the Russian nuclear forces were simultaneously destroyed and no nuclear weapons were used. The scenarios were technologically possible and plausible and that was factoring in scenarios where the Russians compromised aspects of the operations.
I was trying to highlight the Russian actions. Things like make outrageous demands over and over until they become acceptable. Think no NATO for Ukraine. Another is don’t ask for everything at once. Consolidate gains and use them for spring boards for further concessions. Never forget that Russia does not negotiate in good faith. Another is to terrorize the civilian population so that they will welcome Russian occupation to end the violence. Sound familiar? Read up on Proud Profit and you will learn everything you need to know about how Russia approaches this war.

When the Russians reach their stage of issuing bullshit threats the problem is that they often back themselves into a corner where they think they have to do something to keep up appearances.

Like in the Baltic right now the idiots are violating airspace and taunting the smaller nations and I expect the Russians will soon enough shoot down a NATO member aircraft (civilian or military) because the fuckers used to do that shit way back when and they got away with it, too.

I don't think anyone is in the mood to put up with that kind of shit so if they do it things will get hairy pretty quick.

As they should.

Let's not also forget that Russian nuclear forces are a shadow of their former self. It's debatable whether those weapons would actually work - look at whats happened with their ballistic missile launches - and one failure immediately removes the credibility of their nuclear deterrent. What if they launched a nuke and it was a dud?

Now also, take a look at everything else thats happening. The Russian econmy is imploding. There was just a large demo in St Petersbug where they were singing some sng from Wan Lake which apparently has all sorts of connotations. Recruiting bonuses have been cut in half the oblasts because they don;t have the money ad these Russian soldiers are mercanaries - no money, no bodies. Recruiting was already drying up, Pokrovsk was Putin;s last big kick at the can and it's been a failure. Ukraine are making local advances here and there. Russian air defences are gone and Russia is a wide open target for Ukrainian missiles and drones.

Ukraine is winning by holding the line and destroying the Russian econmomy - Russia WILL implode at some point OR somene will bite the bullet, Putin will get the cop and a realist will take over and try to keep the Russian Federation together - it may not be too late to do that.

Trump and Putin conferences at this point are just a distraction with little meaning other than to flatter Trump's ego
Debatable if they work? Is this a debate between (Someone who doesn't mind if 1,000,000,000 children die) vs (Someone worse or crazier than that)

Idea: it's debatable whether the Pacific Ocean is deeper than 1 meter. Maybe you walk to Hawaii?

It's debatable whether ... you probably get the point though you seem confused about how debates work

See Baztrachian's post above. Russia's nuclear threats are jyst blowing smoke out their ass
And don't forget most of the scientits and engineers were Ukrainian
  • Russia's Mayak nuclear facility suffered a devastating disaster back in 2017.
  • Mayak was their only weapons-grade processing facility and it is kaput.
  • Russian nuclear cores have a shelf life of about ten years and that means anything older than 2015 is iffy at best for functionality.
  • NONE of the Soviet era nukes are functional at this point. Maybe they can be used as dirty bombs but they will NOT go critical. I doubt that the weapons themselves are in good shape given the damage that constant radioactive bombardment does to metal objects like weapons casings, delicate electronics, and etc.
  • Frankly, once you account for Russian corruption I'd expect that Russia has fewer than a dozen functional weapons. Maybe even none.
  • The bloody things cost money when they're just sitting around and Russia doesn't have that kind of money.

And here we go ...this is why Putin wanted to meet Trump again....to stall the delivery of Tomahawks to Ukraine
And Trump fell for it,...again

US President Donald Trump said that Russia wanted to end its war in Ukraine, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instead suggested that Moscow sought to pursue its invasion. Meeting Zelenskyy at the White House on Friday, Trump said President Vladimir Putin "wants to end the war," after Zelenskyy said that the Russian leader was "not ready" for peace.

Trump suggested it would be premature to give Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, saying that he hoped to secure peace with Russia first. "Hopefully they won't need it. Hopefully we'll be able to get the war over with without thinking about Tomahawks," Trump told journalists.

Trump added that he was confident of getting Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the invasion he launched in 2022, following a phone call with the Kremlin chief a day earlier. The US and Russian presidents agreed on Thursday to a new summit in the Hungarian capital Budapest, which would be their first since an August meeting in Alaska that failed to produce any kind of peace deal. "I think that President Putin wants to end the war," Trump said.

Of course Putin wants to end the fucking war. He wants Ukraine to surrender.

But Zelenskyy, who wore a dark suit for his third meeting with Trump in Washington since the US president's return to power, demurred, saying that Putin was "not ready" for peace. Ukraine has been lobbying Washington for Tomahawks for weeks, arguing that the missiles could help put pressure on Russia to end its brutal three-and-a-half year invasion. But on the eve of Zelenskyy's visit, Putin warned Trump in a call against delivering the weapons, saying it could escalate the war and jeopardise peace talks.

Latvia orders mass expulsions, requests NATO F-35s amid escalating Russian provocations

The Baltics are moving from protest to action. Following Russian fighter jets violating Estonian airspace and Moscow’s increasingly imperial rhetoric toward the region, Latvia has ordered the expulsion of hundreds of Russian citizens while requesting NATO F-35 patrols, closing what officials see as dangerous openings for Russian influence and potential invasion. Riga has taken a hard and visible step to avoid any precedent for Russian invasion, seeing their sovereignty being continually questioned by Russian media. Ordering mass expulsion of Russians citizens from the country, and now directly requesting additional security by NATO, the Baltics understand that Russian invasion is an all too real threat directly on their borders.

Under Soviet rule, Moscow moved large numbers of ethnic Russians into the Baltics to change local demographics. That left towns and districts where Russian-speakers are a big slice of the population, the exact communities Moscow says it now needs to protect, the same pretext it used to invade Ukraine. Because of that history, the Baltic governments treat migration and residency rules as national security, not just paperwork. Baltic capitals see Russia repeating the same Donbas playbook with them: Russia will label the Russian-speaking minority as prosecuted, giving pretext for invasion. While it also creates real human problems and business losses, ethnic Russians were given ample opportunity to come into compliance with the new immigration laws, and only those who refused are currently being expelled.

Public opinion across the Baltic States has hardened, especially as Russian state-linked media began using imperial-toned language, referring to Baltic capitals in dismissive terms that implicitly question their sovereignty; notably calling Estonia the Estland province and governate, which was its name under occupation by the Russian empire. That rhetoric normalizes the Russian claim that the post-Soviet map is contestable and feeds the question of protective responses, precisely the narrative the Baltics fear and one that Moscow might use to justify future invasion.

Russia’s Far East is FALLING Into Xi & Kim's Hands... Putin Can’t Stop It

When Russia invaded Ukraine, Putin believed victory was inevitable. Years later, isolation and war have forced him to depend on China and North Korea for survival. Now, according to Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Russia’s Far East is slipping away as Beijing and Pyongyang gain control through investment, labor, and influence. What began as Putin’s “pivot to the East” may end with Russia losing nearly half its territory. The question is—can Putin stop it?

Putin on edge! Ukraine hits hard as Trump steps in

Precise Ukrainian strikes are tearing apart Russia’s war machine — oil depots burn, ammunition warehouses explode, and Moscow’s economy is cracking at the seams. Putin is trying to save himself by negotiating "peace" with Trump in Budapest — but is this diplomacy or desperation?

Meanwhile, Russia is paying for North Korea’s and China’s support with its own land and sovereignty. Watch the Weekly Wrap-Up with Henry Keen — analysis, frontline updates, and explanations of how Ukraine’s strikes are changing the course of the war.

Zelensky’s Masterclass — Every Trap Became a Triumph

In today’s high-stakes White House meeting with President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky faced some of the toughest questions of his career — and he didn’t just survive them, he turned them into wins. Reporters tried to corner him with “gotcha” questions on missiles, escalation, and U.S. support, but Zelensky flipped every trap into a moment of control, confidence, and diplomatic skill.

This video breaks down how Zelensky outmaneuvered hostile media questions, stayed composed under pressure, and walked away from Washington with momentum firmly on his side. If you want to understand how world leaders handle tough moments — and why this meeting could change the trajectory of U.S.–Ukraine relations — you won’t want to miss this breakdown.

To date, Putin's strategy has not changed. He's stalling to protract the war in the belief that time is on his side

Trump TACO's again | Putin uses him as a Weapon against Ukraine

Zelensky and Trump's meeting was not good for Ukraine
No pro-Ukrainian rehetoric from Trump and no Tomahawks for Ukraine (like Biden, Trump does not wat to "escalate")
Trump wants to finish this war in any way possible - he does not accept Ukraine as an ally and is now mostly supporting Russia
Trump follows Putin's demands every time - Putin understands how to manipulate Trump
Trump wants Zelensky to "make a deal", failing to recognize that no deal with Russia is possible and that Putin doesn't care at all about how many Russians are slaughtered
Ukraine as no option but to keep fighting as long as Russia is attacking - Trump is delusional on this issue- or rather, if he's not delusional, he's siding with Russia and wants Ukraine to surrender so th war will go away

Zelensky’s first statement after the conversation with Trump.

I can't wait for Zelenskyy to do an interview ten years from now about what he really thinks of Trump.

A great leader and an outstanding statesman. Sad to see him continually having to deal with Trump stabbing Ukraine in the back as well as with Putin
Very diplomatic about Trump and the USA

Ukraine Forming New Artillery Brigades for Corps

As part of the transition to the corps structure of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, a “corps” set of military units is being created in each of these formations. One of these elements is artillery brigades. According to this plan, the old artillery brigades will be re-subordinated to the newly created corps, and new ones will be created.

Prior to the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the AFU included:
  • 26th Artillery Brigade named after General-Corporal Roman Dashkevich
  • 40th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Grand Duke Vytautas
  • 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Taras Tryasyl
  • 44th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Hetman Danylo Apostol
  • 45th Separate Artillery Brigade named after General Myron Tarnavskyi
  • 55th Separate Artillery Brigade “Zaporizhzhia Sich”
  • The 406th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Major General Oleksiy Almazov
Obviously, this number is not enough to fill the “corps” set for all the formed army corps.
  • the 27th Brigade was converted from a rocket brigade into an artillery unit, largely due to a shortage of ammunition for the BM-27 Uragan multiple rocket launchers it was previously equipped with.
  • Another rocket unit, the 107th, did not retain this name, but added the prefix “artillery”. Now its full name is the 107th Rocket Artillery Brigade.
  • In the Ukrainian Navy, the existing 32nd Artillery Brigade also became an artillery brigade.
  • Another artillery brigade, the 147th Artillery Brigade, was created as part of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became part of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces.
  • There are also reports of the formation of at least two new artillery brigades in the Armed Forces: 60th and 68th. Another artillery brigade was created within the National Guard.
In addition to these, several other artillery brigades were formed during the full-scale invasion, including the following:
  • The 148th as part of the Air Assault Forces and is now part of the 8th Air Assault Corps
  • 47th Brigade
  • 48th Brigade
Therefore, we may expect new reports on the creation of artillery brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukraine is manufacturing approx. 40 Bohdana 155mm guns a month, enough to equip a full artillery brigade for every Corps in the Ukrainian Army over the next few months and certainly by the summer of 2026.
