For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

New Ukraine Counterattack in Pokrovsk | Russians Horse "cavalry" again

(these aren't cossacks LOL) - they're horseback kamikaze charges....

Ukraine Strikes Hard in Hulaipole | Rus Attack Failed

Skala Brigade sent in to Hulaipole to recpver situtation after Ukrainian TF Brigade managed woefully badly

THere's some definite failings in the ZSU's command and command structure. To much of the old Soviet mentatlity still there.

Russia Targets Kyiv With All Night Missile Barrage

Russia used around 500 missiles and drones to target the civilian population - the purest form of Russian culture - major deliberate terrorist attack on civilians. The only thing Russia can do these days - murder civilians.

With Zelensky on the way to Florida, Russians launch a 15-hour barrage of missiles and drones onto Kyiv, deliberately targeting the capital and its residential buildings, as civilian infrastructure strains under sustained attack. Air defenses worked through the night as explosions echoed across the city. At the same time, the reality at the front tells a different story. Ukrainian forces continue to crush Russian units, advancing and tightening pressure across key sectors. Near Pokrovsk, roughly 500 Russian troops have been surrounded, cutting off escape routes and exposing the depth of Russia’s operational failures.

Desperation is becoming visible. Russian soldiers are now being filmed charging Ukrainian positions on horseback, an easy target for Ukrainian drones, with equipment shortages and logistical collapse inside the Russian army now reaching a breaking point.

Also near Pokrovsk, investigators report grave atrocities committed by Russian forces, adding to the growing body of evidence documenting systematic war crimes against civilians.

Inside Russia, the propaganda machine has gone into overdrive. State media and influencers are working nonstop to keep a steady flow of cannon fodder moving toward the front, recycling fear, lies, and historical myth to mask catastrophic losses.

We also look back at Poland’s toilet paper shortages of the early 1980s, a reminder of how authoritarian systems decay economically and socially long before they admit failure.

RUSSIA BACK TO THE 90S: ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

Tightening sanctions, rising interest rates on loans, and a sharp economic slowdown have pushed Russian industry to the brink of its most severe crisis. This was reported by The Moscow Times, citing a survey conducted by the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The problems being exoerienced by the Russian economy are worse than 1998 - the year when the Kremlin defaulted.....

Why Russia’s Winter Offensive Just Collapsed

Kupiansk has been lost by the Russians and it's unlikely they will capture Pokrovsk this winter......

For the last six months, the map of Donetsk has looked like a slow-motion catastrophe for Ukraine. But as the winter freeze sets in, the data shows a different story. Russia’s rate of advance hasn't just slowed; it has hit a culmination point where the cost of every meter is now threatening the stability of their entire front.

Zelensky is the Real Boss of the Peace Deal

Zelensky cannot legally sign away sovereign territory—Crimea or the Donbas—without a national referendum, a vote that current polling shows would fail by 85%. Furthermore, he commands an 800,000-man, battle-hardened army that will not lay down its arms for a deal they view as surrender, regardless of what Washington dictates.

This is Zelensky's "Veto Card." Trump can cut funding, and Putin can launch offensives, but neither can physically force the Ukrainian state to sign a suicide pact. Unless the peace deal offers terms that Zelensky can sell to his own population, he has the power to simply refuse to participate, turning Trump's "quick peace deal" into a humiliating, drawn-out foreign policy failure.

The War Reaches Moscow / North Koreans Defecting (to SOuth Korea)

Ukraine has successfully blinded the Black Sea Fleet by destroying the sensors and patrol systems that guard Russian naval bases. This systematic dismantling of maritime defenses leaves Russian submarines and high-value assets exposed to drone strikes. The destruction of these electronic eyes forces the Russian Navy into a defensive posture.

The war has simultaneously breached the internal security of Moscow. Attacks on police vehicles and senior officials prove that the Russian capital is no longer a safe zone. Kremlin resources are being diverted from the front lines to protect domestic infrastructure and government parking lots.

North Korean troops in Ukraine are breaking the coalition by attempting to defect to South Korea. These defections undermine the perceived strength of the alliance Vladimir Putin built for manpower. The psychological collapse of these proxy forces signals a failure of Russian military logistics.

Kyiv is attacking the capacity and legitimacy of the Russian Federation on multiple fronts. A government unable to secure its fleet or the loyalty of its allies is losing control of the geopolitical narrative. The initiative has shifted as Russia reacts to existential threats at home.

Russia's Logistical Apocalypse - the Railway Industry is Bankrupting

Russia's supposedly ‘invincible’ war machine is collapsing not on the front lines, but on the railways of Siberia. With Western companies pulling out, ‘Cassette Type Bearings’ and engine parts have hit the black market, and trains have started derailing due to “spalling”. Add to that Ukraine's ‘Relay Cabinet’ sabotage, and Russian logistics is having a full-blown heart attack.

In this video, we analyse the railway collapse and logistical apocalypse that the Kremlin is trying to hide:

BEARING CRISIS: How can a simple wheel part stop 50 trains at once?
CANNIBALISATION: Why is Russia forced to dismantle its sound carriages?
SABOTAGE WAR: How did boxes set alight with £5 worth of petrol blind the signalling system?
GEOPOLITICAL CHESS: Why are North Korean munitions and Chinese trade stranded in Siberia?

Russia's connection to Asia depends on a single tunnel and railway line, and the consequences of cutting that line.....

Say what? The idea that Marshal Zhukov never used horses is incorrect; horses were a practical necessity throughout much of the conflict, and Zhukov's armies made extensive use of them.
Well, I should say cavalry. Packhorses remained necessary, but you don't want to ride them against machine guns.

Russia has been unable to increase its military spending despite Putin’s priority on the war. It appears they simply don’t have the money or access to foreign loans.

Seems like the Russian economy really is collapsing

Look into the cost of goods and services. Putin has been forced to crank up the presses and inflation is set to explode. I also expect the opposition to become more open and vocal.

I don't know how Putin can get out to this trap he's set for himself. He really can't negotiate. He'll be left having to explain how he destroyed the economy and gutted his manpower for virtually no gains in Ukraine. That's political suicide.

I don't think there's any way out for him. THe moment he signs a cease fire / peace deal without the victory he has set as his objectives, he's toast. Someone will get him. And he can't win this....it's a lose-lose game for him. If they try to keep fighting, Russia will either disintegrate or the Russian Army will be slowly defeated over the next couple of years - and if the military collapses in a rout, he's done too. There's no way out for him at this point, whether he rea;izes it or not.

There's no way out for Russia either - the Ukrainians are doing too much damage to Russia for there to be any easy recovery. Not to mention the demographic hit Russia is taking losing so many men. One way or anither this war is finishing off Russia as a credible military threat, the demographic impacts is already huge and the economic impact is devastating and will get worse.

So yeah, I can't see any out for him either, desperate as Trump is to give him one.

Right now, the death itself appears well-substantiated. it's been widely covered by RU mainstream media with consistent details.

"Heart attack."

You understand the implications of what we're talking about here don't you? Putin has backed himself into a VERY dangerous corner. Russia is structured in such a manner that Putin cannot unilaterally order a nuclear strike, it takes a triumvirate consensus. But if he can purge and replace the other decision makers?????????????

Trump wants to stop the bleeding but more importantly he wants to begin reintegrating Russia back into the West. What NO ONE wants is to drive Russia further into the arms of the Chinese. And that's one of the reasons the Chinese are supporting Russia even though it's not in their best interests short term. The Chinese are positively salivating over the possibility of taking over Siberia.

It's questionable that the Russian nuclear deterrent even works now. The miaintenance money was likely stolen and the stuff won't work. The moment they try one and it's a dud, the deterrent threat is gone. It's an interesting quandary.

Trump wants to stop the bleeding but more importantly he wants to begin reintegrating Russia back into the West.

Nope. He doesn't want to "stop the bleeding". He wants Putin to win and he wants his kickbacks.

He's more than happy seeing Ukraine bleed, and seeing Ukrainian civilians die. When he says "stop the bleeeding," he's talking about Russian troops dying, as qwell as what he can do to help his buddy Putin. Ukrainie has long been aware that they are fightng not just Putin but Trump, and with that realization, Zelensky has adjusted his game to neutralize Trump as much as possible, back by Europe, who have now also realized Trump is NOT their friend, but rather a bew and openly declared enemy who is intent on stabbing Ukraine in the back at every opportunity. Sad, but that's what we voted in as President.

What NO ONE wants is to drive Russia further into the arms of the Chinese. And that's one of the reasons the Chinese are supporting Russia even though it's not in their best interests short term. The Chinese are positively salivating over the possibility of taking over Siberia.

That's not gong to change. China is already de facto taking possession of Siberia slowly but surely and that won't change. The collapseof the Russian Federation will play right into China's hands - unfortunately Putin cannpt take advantage of all the off ramos that have been offered to him. They way he's positoned himself, it's all or nothing, and Ukraine is now in a position where the tide is exorably turning and they may even win this and collapse Russia into the bargain.

Whetever happens here, Russia is toast. There will be NO peace deal. Whatever Trump concedes to, Putin will turn it down unless its total victory. This is why Trump keeps looping. Whatever Zelensky agrees to will not be enough for Putin - who wants total surrender, and THAT is what Trump is trying to engineer. Ridiculous mis-reading of Ukraine, as is using Witkoff and Kushner as "negotiators" - altho Rubio seems to be doing his best to bring negotiationbs back to reality- but whatever he achieves, Trump will stab anything realisticin the back and loop back to engineering a Ukrainian capitulation.

Ergo, the war will continue until Russia is defeated or collapses.

Russia ‘incapable’ of winning in Ukraine and now Trump must choose his side of history

“If you look at the situation objectively from a strategic point of view, you see that Russia is incapable to win in Ukraine.”

It’s up to President Trump to choose his side of history as he prepares to meet with President Zelesnky to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine, says Oleksandr Merezhko, head of the foreign affairs committee of the Ukrainian Parliament.

It's not the dud's that count, only one has to work.

You're wrong, Trump is not pro-Putin. He's a realist. Russia has been in Crimea and the Donbas since 2014, anyone that believes he's going to negotiate ANY OF THAT away is delusional and Trump isn't delusional. It appears that even Zelensky is beginning to face up to the reality of the situation.

Of course China's been salivating over Siberia for years and that's why Russian reintegration is so important. With Western reintegration Russia will have allies against China, as it stands now they'll be hung out to dry.

Further the entire Ukraine situation is NOT a matter of critical national interest. Obviously Europe is more concerned but in the end should Russia actually take Ukraine it would find itself in the same position as the dog that chases cars, and actually caught one. And in the end it would just be another case of European ebb and flow that's been going on throughout recorded history. On the other hand China is of critical national interest.

The Gatekeeper’s Death: Did Putin Just Kill His Own General?

On Christmas Day 2025, the Kremlin officially "closed the books" on the Shoigu era with the sudden death of Colonel-General Yuri Sadovenko. As the Chief of the Defense Ministry Apparatus for over a decade, Sadovenko was the ultimate "gatekeeper" who managed the flow of every ruble and every secret within the Russian military hierarchy. While official reports cite heart disease at age 56, the strategic timing—following a massive internal purge—suggests a calculated liquidation of a man who simply knew too much. This video breaks down the strategic logic of the Christmas purge, why a former gatekeeper is a mortal liability in an authoritarian system, and what this means for the stability of the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2026. We analyze the data to find the truth behind the mystery.

We also talked extensively about the front line today, December 26th.
