Regan Thompson
Age: 18
5'2, 110 lbs, 36c breasts, long auburn hair, green eyes, thick dark lashes

"Hey, Regan! I heard you got captain again! Congrats!"

The shout came from down the hallway. Regan turned and smiled at her friend, waving as she kept walking. Usually she would stop, but she was already gonna be late to her next class, which so happened to be the one that her softball coach taught... Spectacular. That would be running laps before practice.

Hurrying now, Regan jogged towards the last class on the left. The bell rang when she was halfway there and she grimaced.

Damn.

As quietly as possible she opened the closed door and slipped inside, but of course all eyes were upon her, including his.

"Uh, sorry I'm late sir..." She began to say.

Jason Rowles
25
6'4" 183 pounds, lean yet muscular with good definition, brown hair and blue eyes, goatee

Jason Rowles turned and shook his head. "Miss Thompson, that's the second time this week you've been tardy for my class. See me after class so that we can figure out what you owe me at practice this afternoon," he said before turning back to the board.

He quickly immersed himself in the lecture for the day. He taught English Lit, and they were going over some of the required reading. He knew he was being checked out by most of the girls in the class, as well as Alex Mason, the only openly gay man in the school. He was okay with it, and actually was one of the teachers Alex talked to about his future.

"Okay ladies and gentlemen. You have another four chapters to read in The Book Thief tonight. Don't groan either. You all decided not to read for today's class, so now you have to make up for it," he said. He chuckled as everyone groaned, and Alex raised his hand.

"Yes Mr. Morgan," Jason said.

"Mr. R...Do we really have to read? I read and was ready for today," he said. Jason chuckled. Alex was what some would consider the teacher's pet, but he was a great kid who just wanted to be known for what he did, and not his sexual preference.

"If you read the chapters, then you only have two chapters. These chapters are when the book really takes off, so I think you'll find that the reading takes off. Be warned, if you skip, there may or may not be a quiz next class. So be ready," he said, then the bell for the end of the day rang.

"Alright. Have a great day, and Miss Thompson, park it!" he said, chuckling because he knew she'd try to sneak out to get away and to the field. She was his star player, but he never figured out why she always chose to be late.

After the class filed out and the halls were empty, Jason looked at Regan. "No sprints, no running. You're just going to have to write me an explanation as to why you were late, and hope that it's good enough to let you off the hook," he said, knowing she'd take it as an easy assignment.

"Just know that if it's not to my satisfaction, you'll be running or doing something else for the rest of the week. Now get to the field, and get there on time!" he called after her, seeing her leaving for practice. He closed the door and quickly stripped down before changing out of his work clothes and into shorts and a t-shirt. He wasn't ripped, but kept himself fit and muscular enough to draw attention from students and his co-workers. He was still only in his second year, but he was well liked, and had taken the softball team to the state tournament his first year there.

He grabbed his bag and hat, flipping his sunglasses onto the brim of the cap, and then slipped his sandals on. He closed and locked his classroom before making his way out to the field. He smiled when he saw that everyone, including Regan, was on time. He slipped his cleats on and then stretched. "Warm up and get a few laps around the field, then come stretch fully," he said, knowing the girls would know what to do. It might be the first practice of the year, but he knew every girl except for two freshmen who made the cut for the varsity roster.

Regan sighed and nodded when Mr Rowles instructed her to stay after class. What a shitty beginning to the day... She walked over and had a seat at her desk. Her eyes trailed up to Rowles and she couldn't resist admitting to herself how good he looked that day, and every day... Of course every other girl in class was thinking the same thing.

Her mind drifted as he lecture the class. She enjoyed reading but if she were honest she would have to admit she found lit class boring, even with the incredibly sexy and witty Mr Rowles teaching it. She focused on his words finally and heard him instructing them to read four chapters and groaned along with the rest of the class.

Class passed and finally they were dismissed. Regan was just about to make a break for it when he caught her and made her sit again.

"Damn", she muttered under her breath.

Rowles instructed her to write an essay. No laps. An essay. She could do that. He dismissed her and she grabbed up her bag, waving over her shoulder as he yelled for her to be on time.

And she was. She rushed to the locker room as changed out of the skirt and tank top she had worn to classes, into a pair of tight athletic shorts and a body hugging Under Armour shirt. Some of the girls wore only sports bras on the hottest of days, but Regan was catcher, and a damn good one at that. All that gear didn't feel very good without a shirt on.

She was standing on the field chatting with a new freshman pitcher, giving her advice, when Rowles came out. Her eyes immediately trailed over his gorgeous body, hidden beneath the clothes. She had seen him without a shirt before on hot days and hoped today was hot enough as well.

The coach's eyes briefly connected with hers and she gathered the team around to do stretches. After that was done the coach asked them all to run two laps, then break off into teams and begin practicing. Alli was to team up with the nervous new pitcher and help ease her into the team.

After laps she did just that. As she walked over to get her gear, Rowle was right there.

"I made it on time, Coach" she said, giving him a saucy smile as she bent over, ass facing him, to strap on her leg gear.

Jordan chuckled at Regan's attempt to be cheeky. He knew he was young, and knew that he was able to have fun with the girls. He also knew when to be their coach and when to be their friend. He looked at her, bending over in front of him, and was happy he was wearing compression shorts. He usually got down and got into the swing of things, getting just as dirty as the girls, but now it was to hide his growing erection.

Jordan never thought about crossing the line with his students, or even his co-workers, but his body seemed to react to beautiful women, and there were plenty around him. He cleared his throat and then said, "You have 4 pitchers to work through today. I want you putting them through a few innings of pitching each, and then tell me how they do. I need to know control, velocity, and pitching options. So figure out which pitchers are my starters, and which are my backups."

He called the girls in after stretching and had the outfielders shag fly balls, hitting to each other and switching off between hitting the fly balls and catching them. He took turns belting ground balls at his girls. Whenever someone did something wrong, he moved on and came back to them. If they made a mistake again, he told them to grab the bat and hit it at him. He only did it a few times with the freshman second baseman, and ended up getting a little bit dirtier than usual laying out for a ground ball she drilled just inside his range.

"That is probably something you won't have to worry about," he said, dusting himself off and smiling as he shook the dirt out of his glove. "I want you to work on positioning your feet, and making sure you watch the ball into the glove. Then, plant your feet and throw. Take it slow until you get the hang of it, and then we can start to speed things up. I'm not going to slow the hits up, but if you need to, take a step or two back to give you a bit more time until you are comfortable," he finished, going back to hitting ground balls.

He was taking his time, waiting for Regan to tell him who his pitchers were going to be, before finally calling a scrimmage as his catcher came back. He waited to hear, but already had the rookies out in the field, and a few of his veterans grabbing bats and helmets. "So, who's it going to be this year?" he asked Regan, watching her pull her mask off as he waited for an answer.

Regan nodded her understanding when the coach asked her to go through their pitchers and pick out the starters. It was an unusually hot spring day, and all of the gear had Regan sweating by the time she was done. Two of the pitchers were gonna take them far, she thought. The other two could use some practice.

As she had been practicing with them she was always aware of her teammates and what they were doing. This included the coach. She saw him make a pretty spectacular catch at one point and smiled behind her mask as he stood and dusted himself off.

She headed in his direction to speak to him about what she had seen in their pitchers. As she walked, she pulled her helmet off, wiping her brow with her hand to get some of the sweat off.

"Lord it's hot" she muttered as she approached. "Katie and Carolina are gonna be our best bets for starting pitchers. Morgan and Jodi need some work. I can stay late with them whenever they're free if you want and work with them".

As she spoke, Regan took off her chest protector and poured a paper cup of water over her head and neck, the water trickling down over her pert breasts and tight belly as well. She didn't even notice, her head was solely in the game now.

"I'd like to get in some batting practice if I can, Coach" she said. "I know you wanna scrimmage though. Any chance you can meet up with me or stay late with me to throw me some?"

This was a usual occurrence for their team. They all worked hard to be the best, even if it meant staying late.

"Then I have to go home. I have an essay to write". She narrowed her eyes playfully at her teacher and coach. "I wouldn't wanna have to run more laps".

"So Katie and Carolina, huh?" Jason said. He figured as much. Katie had the nasty dropball, and combined with her rise ball and fastball, she could easily keep changing levels. Carolina had always had a good command for every bitch she threw, and he wasn't too sure about the new girls. "So what do Morgan and Jodi need to work most on?" he asked.

He listened to the rest of what she said, and had to keep his eyes fixed on her face. The water she poured on her head and neck made her white shirt see through. He could see her sports bra, which normally wouldn't bother him, but the hard nubs that were her nipples were definitely having an effect on him.

He cleared his throat again and then listened to her request. "Sure, we can stay late to work on hitting. I need to stay late anyways, so ask around if anyone needs it. I don't know who will stay, since it's the first day, but if anyone else does, I'd be happy to. I was actually going to work on my pitching anyways. Have a fastpitch game later this week that I'm apparently pitching for," he said, remembering the fastpitch league his friend Hugh had signed him up for.

He loved fastpitch, but hated having to juggle work, coaching, fastpitch, and then the constant stream of dates, or turning them down, that seemed to follow him whenever he talked to his family. Jason shook his head and then looked around, seeing everyone in place. "Okay, Katie and Carolina, take turns. Every inning, switch off. Fielders, make the play you think is best, and work on fundamentals. This is just to get you back into the swing of things. No need to hurl it, no need to kill the ball. Lets just get back into the softball mindset," he called out.

He moved behind the batter's box, positioning himself as the umpire. When Regan set herself, he called for the batter, and then placed a hand on her side to steady himself. He knew this his left knee had a habit of going out at the worst moments, so needed to make sure he didn't collapse on top of Regan.

Katie showed her drop and rise balls, striking out the side. Jason just chuckled and then waited for Carolina. It took fewer pitches, but she had three ground balls to get her out of the inning. Jason could already see the season shaping up. He crouched down again, not bothering to steady himself, and knew it was a bad idea as soon as his knee buckled on him. He pitched forward onto Regan, almost fully covering her, before he caught himself with his hands.

"Shit," he muttered under his breath, and then realized that he was pressed against Regan, and he was hard. He groaned inwardly before pushing himself up as fast as he could, and started to hobble around, working his knee. He looked around and smiled sheepishly at the girls. "Sorry about that. Old injury. It goes out from time to time, and always at the worst moments," he said. He hobbled over to Regan and offered his hand, helping her up. He chuckled and then looked at her. "Sorry for landing on you, but hey, great catch," he said, hearing the team laugh.

He looked at his watch and realized the time. "Okay, those of you who are planning to head out, get to it, as the buses will be leaving soon. Those of you who want to stay and work a little extra, I'll be here for a little while at least. If you need a ride, I'm more than happy to, and have plenty of room in my SUV," he called out, happy that the town he lived in had relaxed rules, since most everybody knew one another.

He smiled as he saw pretty much everybody leaving, before going to lightly jog, stretching his knee out and making sure he was good to pitch. He wasn't paying attention to everyone, and when he stopped to head to the mound, he realized it was just Regan who stayed. "Get your bat and lets go. When I run out of balls, just toss them back and we can keep going," he said, loosening up before getting ready and waiting for her.

"Morgan and Jodi need to focus on accuracy, both of them. Jodi tends to throw them outside a lot and Morgan is low. Quite a few wild pitches. Even a few past balls". Regan added that last bit because she knew it would get her point across. She was one of the best catchers around and it had to be an extremely wild pitch to get by her.

Coach agreed to a little hitting practice forever needed it and Regan nodded. Then he called for the players to hit the field. Regan replaced her chest protector and helmet before walking out to home plate. She let katie throw some practice pitches and then called out "balls in, comin down!"

All balls were trown in except for the one Katie held. One last practice pitch and Regan fired the ball to second. She had the lowest amount of bases stolen on her in their division, and that was why. She had a canon for an arm and pinpoint accuracy.

Regan settled down in her stance behind the plate to wait for the first batter. As she did she felt Jason move in behind her. His hand settled on her hip, and even though she was used to it, she still felt a tingle of excitement pulse through her. Who wouldn't with a man that hot in such close contact??

Katie and Carolina threw amazingly well. After every inning they rotated in and out. Just as Katie walked back up to the mound again Regan was taken off guard as Jason suddenly crashed into her back, knocking her into the dirt and sending dust flying. She felt his hard body press against her back, his strong arms wrap around her in an effort to stop the force of his body from landing on her... But most importantly she felt the hard ridge of what had to be his cock pressing against her ass. Surprised at what she felt she spun and looked at him.

He climbed up as fast as he had called and Regan watched as he worked out the kinks in his bad leg. She knew he had the injury, but he explained anyway since some girls wouldn't be aware of it. Regan was still on her ass on the ground and Jason helped her up, his strong hands clasping tightly around hers as he did.

He joked around, making them all laugh, and then released them all. Regan began packing her gear except for her batting helmet and gloves. When she looked up she was surprised to see everyone had left except she and the coach. Slackers, she muttered.

Jason began to stretch some and Regan grabbed her bat. She did that and pulled on her helmet. Jason threw her a few pitches which she hit, but they weren't the hits she wanted. They were all either ground balls or pop flys which frustrated Regan. She hated to have a bad day like that and always wanted to improve. Some would call her a perfectionist. She chose to say she just wanted to do her best.

Jason could see that Regan was frustrated with her hitting. He was throwing a little bit harder than what the pitchers in their division threw, and he also knew that he had a little more movement on his stuff than she was used to. The pop flies and ground balls were a testament to her being able to hit the ball though.

"Lets slow it down to what you'll be seeing," he said. He still threw good stuff, but what she'd expect to see. The only pitcher who could really match him when he went all out had graduated last year, and Regan had done well both times the teams played.

These hits were solid line drives, and she was spraying them across the outfield. He shook his head and grinned as she crushed a particularly lazy pitch of his. He knew that there were some pitchers who would throw a junk ball that got away. Regan wasn't the power hitting catcher, but instead was able to place her shots and use her speed to get the extra base.

"How ya feeling? Still wanting to go for more, or are you wanting some soft toss?" he asked, before firing a fastball by her. He grinned, toying with her, before throwing a curveball that seemed to just roll off the edge of the table and dropped under her bat. He paused and waited for her answer.

He was smiling as he remembered how she was hitting before he came. He had graduated a year early, so got his Master's, and then got a job at 21. Everyone had looked at him oddly for moving through his program so fast, but he wanted to be teaching. When the coaching position came up, he jumped. What it gave him was a catcher who tended to overswing, instead of keeping it short and compact, like she was now.

He shrugged and then looked up at her, before saying, "Repeat that for me. I was thinking about how much you've grown as a player." He was always pretty honest with his players and students, so knew she wouldn't be angry for his lapse in attention.

Once Jason slowed his pitches down some Regan was able to place her hits where she wanted them. She didn't have the best batting average but she was decent enough. Jason teased her some and she laughed along with him. She enjoyed his company and he was an incredible coach in we opinion. He got to know the players and was able to put them at ease along with giving them advice.

"I'm feeling a lot better now" she said and then smiled and rolled her eyes playfully when he admitted he had been daydreaming.

"I said I think I'm good to go now... Give me some good ones".

She squared herself up with the plate and got in her stance. Jason gave her one of his best and she swung, missing it by centimeters. She growled beneath her breath and shouted "again!". This time when the pitch came across it was square over the plate and a bit low, exactly where she liked them. She swung with all of her might and felt the bat connect with the ball.

She shielded her eyes and watched the ball soar out over left field and over the fence. With a saucy grin she winked at Jason.

"That all you got coach?" She joked. "I think I'm gonna call it quits on a good note... If you're done that is?" She asked as she pulled her helmet back off. She reached back and pulled her hair band out, freeing her long hair and shaking it out.

"I guess I need to write my essay now" she said, wrinkling her nose slightly.

Jason chuckled and then thought about it. For some reason, it seemed like Regan was late to his class more often than not. He wasn't sure an essay would do it justice, so decided that he was just going to talk to her and maybe get a straight answer.

"Regan, take a seat on the bench," he said, pulling up a bucket and popping the lid onto it. He sat down across from her and looked at her before beginning. "Since I started teaching and coaching here, it seems like if you have my class, you are more often than not late. It's kept you in amazing shape during softball season, but I want to know why you are always late," he said.

He thought about how she always seemed out of breath, almost flustered, and wondered what it could be. "Do I need to talk to your other teachers, or is something just taking up your time? You always seem flustered, like your mind is either somewhere else, or something is bothering you. You know you can talk to me if something's bothering you," he said, leaning forward slightly.

He was always an "open-door" teacher and coach. If his players or students had issues, about anything, they could talk to him. He wouldn't stop a conversation unless he was required to by the state, but otherwise, he liked to make sure that his students knew he was always there.

"So what's wrong?" he asked, then sat back to his original position, waiting patiently for her to compose her response, not fully knowing what to expect or if she would even tell him. He was pretty sure she would, so decided to just wait and hear her out fully.

Regan heard the seriousness in Jason's voice web he asked her to sit as she knew the joking was over. She felt a slow blush creep into her cheeks as she walked over and sat down. He pulled a bucket of balls over and sat down in front of her so they were eye to eye. She stared at toe of her cleat as he asked why she was always late.

She knew the real reason, but wasn't ready to disclose it to him yet... Only one other person knew the truth.

"I, uh, dunno coach... I guess I just talk a lot or something" she muttered softly. The lie was as transparent as a window but she couldn't think of anything else on the spot like that. "I promise I will try and be there on time from now on, sir" she said, finally meeting his eyes with her own green ones which were a little red rimmed, just as her cheeks had turned red as well.

She wasn't sure whether he would accept the lie or not. Surely he must know it wasn't the truth... She hated lying to a man she respected so much but the truth was something she couldn't admit to. In her eyes it made her a failure.

Jason smiled, seeing the lie for what it was. He knew that she must either be embarrassed, angry, or hiding what she was really doing. He took a deep breath, took her hand, and looked at her. "Regan, you're not being honest with me. I'm not going to get angry, but I don't want to punish my best player if it's something we can solve easily," he said.

He knew he was taking a risk by pushing her, but he needed to know if he could help, or if it was something out of his control. Hell, he'd gladly spend his free periods tutoring his students, or helping his players. He just wanted them to feel like they could trust him and come to him.

"Lets try this again. No lies, no anger, no embarrassment, no disappointment, just the truth. Why are you late more times than not to my class," he asked Regan softly, then waited for the truth, still holding her hand to let her know he was there for her and wasn't angry.

Regan's heart began to beat furiously in her chest as Jason took her hand. Her eyes travelled up to his again and stayed there as he spoke. She felt her face grow red again and she glanced down at her cleats before looking directly into his eyes again. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, allowing her head to fall back as she fought a battle within herself. Finally she looked at him again and nodded, signaling she would level with him.

"Every day before your class I have a free period... Except I don't use it to hang out or do homework. I, uh, have a meeting every day with, um, a guy from my Calculus class".

She realized she hadn't really explained like she should have, shrugged and looked down. "I'm failing calc, coach. I just don't get it. But I was afraid to tell you. I can't get kicked off this team" she told him, her eyes wide and looking a bit frightened at what she had just admitted.

A student who was under academic parole could be kicked off of any sports teams. But softball was so important to her. She didn't know what she would do if she lost it.

Jason smiled, and squeezed her hand softly to let her know everything was going to be okay. He wouldn't let a player fail a class if he could help them. He wouldn't give them the answers, but he would spend as much time as they needed tutoring them, even weekends if need be.

"You're lucky I have a math minor, and had to take a few semesters of calculus. I can talk to Mrs. Flaherty and get a textbook and tutor you if you'd like. I have a couple free periods, since this semester is only my english lit classes for 10-12 grade. Would you like that?" he asked.

He waited, trying to get her to relax as he slid onto the bench next to her and put his arm around her shoulder. He knew what softball meant to her, and to most of the girls. It was their chance to get into the colleges that might be academically outside of their range, and away from this small town for a couple years. It was also something to do outside of work and school.

Regan's eyes darted to Jason's as he squeezed her hand. She was quiet as he slid onto the bench beside her and wrapped his strong arm around her shoulder. She couldn't help but lean slightly into his embrace. His words were calm and reassuring as he spoke.

"You can help me?" She asked softly. "I... I'm not gonna kicked off the team?" His reassurance made her sag slightly in relief. The worry had been gnawing at her day and night. "I really suck at math... I might be beyond help" she joked feebly. In a way she was joking but in a way she meant it as well.

"I am sorry I've been late so often. It has nothing to do with you or your class, honest. I just always have to meet Kyle in the library... Which of course is across the school. I can never get there fast enough".

She was still wrapped in the embrace of his strong arm and suddenly realized that when she had relaxed, her hand had automatically gone to his thigh... It was an instinctual move and when she realized it she yanked her hand away quickly.

"I, uh... Oops" she muttered softly. "Sorry, coach".

"I can help you if you'd like me to," Jason said, smiling as he saw that Regan seemed to be relaxing now. He hadn't know she was failing calculus. He wondered what his other players were doing, and decided to check into that tomorrow in a free period.

"Okay, how about this. I have free periods 3rd and 6th hour. I can meet with you both times, or one or the other. What would you like to do?" he asked, wanting to make this as easy as he could for her. He didn't want or need his students and players stressed over issues that weren't relevant at the time.

He felt her hand on his thigh and gulped. Her hand was smaller than he though, but stronger than he realized. "It's okay," he said softly, chuckling nervously. He looked down at her and smiled before pulling her into a hug. "I want you to relax, and then think about what would work best for you. If you want, you can meet me when you want to work on the calc stuff, or in class and we can figure it out. Deal?" he asked, tilting her chin to make sure she saw how serious he was about helping her and not wanting her to be stressed about this.

Regan's heart was still racing within her chest. She had always had a good relationship with her coach but they had never had such an intimate conversation. "I will take whatever help you can give me sir" she finally said.

Jason hugged her close and she wrapped a thin but muscular arm around his waist and hugged him back.

His hand teacher up and cupped her chin softly, forcing her to look him in the eyes. She nodded in response to his question. "I can meet both 3rd an 6th hours. I am free then also. "I won't expect you to sit with me the entire time... Just if you're there in case I have a question?" She asked hesitantly.

"Thanks Jas...uh, I mean coach". Regan blushed furiously at her mistake. The situation felt so personal that for a moment in time she had forgotten who she was with. "I can't thank you enough".

Her lips were mere inches from his, there noses so close they almost touched. Her nostrils flared slightly in a soft exhale. Whatever was happening was making her whole body hum with pleasure, and she knew she needed to put an end to it.

But it felt so good...

Jason smiled and then moved back just a tad so she could see the smile. "You can call me Jason when we are alone. You are only 5 years younger than me. I'm not some stickler for details. So no more blushing, otherwise I'm going to have to make it a permanent fixture!" he said, teasing her a bit.

He thought about it. "I can continue to use them as planning periods, but if you are in there and need help, I'm happy to help you, with anything you need. All you have to do is ask, and if it's within my power, I'll help you. Understand?" he asked, making sure she knew he was there.

He knew he had the reputation for helping his students out, and this was no exception. It didn't matter about the sports, but he didn't want her to lose her chance of going to a great college because of one class. He waited and then suddenly thought. "Do you have a class that I need to get changed 3rd or 6th hour?" he asked, involuntarily leaning back to how close he was before.

Regan tilted her head back and laughed softly. "Sorry" she said quietly, almost in a whisper. She took a deep, yet shaky breath and blew it out.

"I do understand" she replied. "And I do have history during the sixth hour. If I could get it changed to fourth hour that would be fabulous."

Jason had leaned in closer again and this time Regan was more relaxed about it. She actually leaned forward a bit and teasingly bumped her forehead against his, not realizing how intimate that would seem when she did it.

"Can you work your magic and help me out, Coach?" She asked with a semi-flirty smile. She was slowly coming out of the slumpy mood she had got in when talking about calculus at first, and was returning to her normal, happy-go-lucky self.

Her cell phone chimed then, interrupting the mood. Wow a groan, she pulled it out.

The text read: "Mom: Where are you? Homework?"

Regan groaned. "It's uh, getting late" she said quietly.

Jason chuckled at her head bump. "Noggin," he said, referencing Finding Nemo. He loved his Disney movies, and it was one of his guilty pleasures whenever he was feeling like having a lazy night in. He'd pop a Disney movie in, grab a bowl of pop corn, and relax.

He thought about it. If the principal saw that it was to help her pass a class, he was pretty sure the class would get moved, especially since it was just from 6th to 4th hour. "I think I can," he said, wiggling his fingers and trying to look mysterious.

He noticed the text message warning, and then her reply to it. He looked around and nodded. "Do you have a car here, or do you need a lift?" he asked, wanting to make sure that she wouldn't get in trouble for him having kept her an hour and a half after practice normally ended.

"My SUV is in the shop right now... But it's ok, really" she said, giving him a small smile. "I don't live too far away. I can walk". She didn't want to impose upon him anymore than she already had. She was reluctant to leave. More so than she cared to admit.

Slowly she stood up and walked over to grab her bag of gear, swinging it over her shoulder. She sauntered back towards Jason and stopped in front of him. "Thanks again for everything... The batting, the class thing... The uh, support", she said smiling at him, her green eyes shining.

"Do I still need to write the essay?" She asked hopefully.

Jason chuckled and stood up, before taking her bag. "Help me carry stuff to the storage shed, and then I'll drop you off. You and I both know you'd get into trouble for walking home this late," he said with a smile. He had heard about Regan's mom, knowing her to be a stickler for safety, and for arriving soon after being needed.

He grabbed as much of the equipment as he could, before moving it to the shed. He locked it once everything was put up and then grabbed his stuff, followed by her bag, making her have to follow him. "Don't you like how persuasive I am," he said, grinning.

He was walking and could feel her eyes on him, so decided to play with her a bit, since they seemed to have broken the walls down just a bit. "Hey, no staring at my perfectly shaped ass. Keep it on my shoulders. I spend good time on those!" he said, before turning back and winking at her.

He tossed the gear into the trunk and then held the passenger door open for Regan. "Hop in, navigator. Tell me how to get to your place, and text your mom to see if I need to feed you, since there's chains around campus, and I don't want her thinking I don't take care of my players' every needs!" he said as he waited for her to climb into the SUV.

Regan rolled her eyes and grinned as Jason insisted on driving her home. He was right though.

"Yeah I guess my mom is kind of a psycho about certain things... She acts like I'm 5". She loaded her arms down with softball gear and followed behind Jason. They tossed it all in the shed and he locked it up before snatching up her personal gear.

Jason's teasing comment made Regan laugh softly. It struck too close to home. She might have maybe been staring at his perfect ass just a little bit. "Oh come on Jason, we all know you spend the majority of your work out on your ass" she said teasingly. "Hell, your ass is better than mine".

She followed him to his SUV and texted her mom. "She said dinner is over... Can I grab a salad somewhere?" She always ate salads in an effort to stay in shape, although there was little chance of her getting fat.

Jason held the door for her like a gentleman, making her smile. No one did that kind of stuff anymore. It was kind of refreshing. As she slid past him into the SUV, her foot slipped from the door frame and she stumbled back, into Jason's hard chest, with a soft gasp.

Jason immediately caught Regan, holding her steady. He chuckled softly, his arms around her waist to support her as he waited for her to regain her balance."I know you don't have a bum knee. What's your excuse? Getting even with me for almost knocking you over?" he asked, teasing her softly.

He finally closed the door as she hopped into the SUV. He chuckled and shook his head. She was so full of energy now. He liked it better that way. He got into the driver's side and started the SUV. "Okay, you said salad. Do you mean sitting down in a restaurant, or just getting something to go? We can do either, but if we sit down, I can get a gauge on what all you're having a problem with in calculus. Otherwise, we can talk about it tomorrow," he said as he waited for her to tell him what she wanted.

He was tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, wondering what the song was that was playing in his mind. He cleared his head and leaned back before turning slightly towards Regan, smiling pleasantly as he waited for her answer. He wasn't sure if she'd need to call her mom, so waited for her to do what she needed.

Regan sucked in a breath when she felt Jason's strong arms wrap around her and steady her. She laughed out loud and shook her head. "No, that's just pure clumsiness" she admitted.

He asked if she wanted to sit down and have a dinner or just grab it on the go. She thought about it. "I have nothing against sitting down somewhere... But we are both filthy so we can't go anywhere too fancy... Probably Sal's wouldn't let us step foot in the door", she said, naming one of the fancier restaurants nearby.

She leaned back in her seat and fired off a text to her mom, telling her they were stopping to eat before coming home. Her overprotective mom would probably raise holy hell at her when she got home but she could handle it. It would be worth it.

She had never understood why her parents were the way they were with her. Overbearing, overprotective, strict as hell. She didn't even date because of them. She was probably the only senior in her class who could count the number of dates she had had on one hand. It was ridiculous.

"The old diner uptown isn't too fancy, if you wanted to hit up somewhere like that?"
