Free Levi Johnston

At times, Box, I honestly think my 13 year old daughter has a better grasp of the nuances of relationships and politics than you appear to.

If I were Levi, I'd insist on a pre-nup or something before agreeing to this. But then, it is a proverbial "shotgun wedding", so I doubt that he got the chance.

The other option is to flee the country. Or at least go to Puerto Rico, until one could be sure that Palin isn't going to be VP.

I think all he needs to do is get out of Alaska if Obama wins. Once she goes back to just being the gov. he oughta be safe in . . . Arkansas, that's where he ought to go, Arkansas.

Actually, as long as she doesn't become Pres, he should be safe in any state but Alaska.

Suppose McCain wins and serves out his term. I don't see Palin beating say, Hillary, in 2012. And while Hill is scary enough, she has no personal beef with Levi.

You know, he doesn't really have to marry the girl if he doesn't want to. He may have to pay child support, but he doesn't have to marry her. I think he was also aware she was the daughter of the governor.

By the way, I have seen Bristol Palin on the stage with her mother and siblings. She is a real hotty, and sharing a bed with her every night is certainly not the worst thing in the world.

Sometimes, just sometimes, Box, you astound me at how naive you really are?

Do you really see the world as that black and white? He has no way on earth of getting out of this 'alive' while the media is watching his every move. Ma in law just wouldn't allow it.

And as you should know, I believe you've been married a long time now, sharing a bed at night with a hotty, is the tiniest part of a marriage. You actually have to share lives. F O R E V E R !!!!!

I still don't see just why the kid is dangerous to anybody. Bristol Palin is pregnant, and he is the man who impregnated her. This is extremely well known. I'm pretty sure he will marry her, if she wants to get married, judging from his presence at the RNC. However, if he chooses NOT to do so, there is not much to be done about it. A lot of pressure can be brought against him, and that is probably already happening, but he cannot legally be forced into marriage, nor can Bristol Palin. As for taking some kind of deadly vengeance, I can't see that either. If he suddenly disappears because he gets out of Dodge or because he is deep in an ice crevasse, it would be all the same.

Of course, I think the resolution will be a wedding in November. The election will have been decided and Sarah can be the Mother of the Bride and governor of Alaska while planning her move to Washington DC. The demands on the VP-elect are pretty minimal, although she will need to get up to speed on the latest in WashDC.

Dear me, that comes across as an incredibly naive statement.

He really had no chance to decide for himself if he wanted to go the RNC. Perhaps he wanted to support Bristol, perhaps he was just told to go. Seeing as Mama Palin hadn't had the sense to forewarn her family of the impending spotlight in time for him to pull that MySpace page (or at least make it private) I wouldn't be surprised if Levi didn't even know about the pregnancy being made public before he was invited to join the family.

And the pics I've seen of the young couple taken at the convention, they both look pretty haunted, hunted and harried.

I just feel so sorry for them both. They are currently being pressured into an "acceptable" position by political powers far beyond anything any of them (mama included) has even dreamed of.

By the way, I never thought that I'd live to see the day that a female pol seemed more dangerous and Bobbitesque than Hillary. But Sarah Palin has achieved that. Which is why if McCain wins (and I think that he might), Hillary will kick Palin's ass in 2012. And part of me (strange for a lifelong Republican) wants her to do just that.

Hell, Obama is scarier than Hillary, IMO. Mostly because he's too vague and too full of Newspeak for my liking. Plus, anyone connected to Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright makes me nervous.

Guess the saying is true, "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

Must be.

Dude, I have Obama's books on audio. I seriously would gladly share them with you. I don't think Barack would mind, although his publisher might.

Barack isn't perfect. Duh! But he IS the better choice, IMHO.

I think he would forgive me for missing out on the minuscule royalty. And I am arrogant enough to believe that actually knowing more about him would change your mind.

All you have to do is ask and give me an address. I really am that confident. I honestly believe that anyone who understands where he is coming from will vote for him.

I've been voting since 1984 and I can say that for the first time. Does that mean anything to you? I hope so.

Why would you say that? If he had really wanted to stay home, what would Mama Palin have done? Drugged him and crammed him into the trunk of the car? Had he refused, there would have been some pressure, and he would have wondered why. After all, he was nobody but the fiance of the pregnant daughter of the governor of Alaska. Once he knew that she was to be the nominee for VP, that might have been a different matter.

Of course, there's no reason to think that he was unwilling. He would have wanted to go, if nothing else to curry favor with his future mother-in-law. As far as I can see, he would have had no reason not to go. This is a moot point now.

As for them looking haunted, hunted and harried, that's exactly what they were and are. We had two ordinary young people and they are suddenly thrust into the spotlight of the world, with no practice in that sort of situation. Anybody would have felt the same under the same circumstances.

As for pressure to marry, of course they are subject to it. Practically every eligible young bachelor who impregnates a young woman is pressured by his and her parents to marry her, and she is pressured to marry him. The spotlight might make the pressure stronger and more public, but it's basically the same thing.

I still think the whole question is moot, because he has no intention of refusing to marry her, and she wants to marry him also.

ETA: When was that Myspace page written? From what I've read, it was about two years ago. Presumably, he would have matured enough to accept responsibility by now.

I don't know about "Injuns." It's a shortened form of "Indians" which is an historical error, but not a racial slur. As somebody suggested, why not ask Cloudy if she finds the term offensive.

"Cajun" is a similar short form of Acadian, and that doesn't bother anybody. For "Injun" I suppose it is the way the word is said, and the attitude of the speaker or writer. Personally, I seldom, if ever, use the term.

By the way, being called a "Paleface" doesn't bother me.

Box, shereads made a joke about Injuns.

I continued the joke, as did Rob, and then cloudy, too.

Then I changed the joke to a flirtatious and sexual nature because cloudy is flirtatious and sexual.

No one really wanted to discuss the outmoded term of "Injuns".

:rose:

We could discuss Cloudy's beautiful Native American breasts.

You know, keeping it in theme while continuing the flirtatious, sexual bent. ;)

You're taller than me.

How does that work while prone?

;)

Actually, I think we're pretty much the same height, but we'll have to be, um, "prone" on a bed next to each other to make sure. ;)

Wait! Cloudy's breastses are bent?

Well, I'm sure they are at least curved. :D

That does sound like a lot more fun than bickering over whatever it is that this thread is about.
