Edge

hings were getting far too odd. I was used to fighting men, by the dozens if necessary, but spectres appearing and speaking to us, offering to guide us, and the large man turning into the bear...
I shookmy head. Black Magic? I wondered.
For now, I would follow, but things were not looking to our favor at that moment. The unnatural were among us...

Arciris

Sheathing my sword it seem Perrin was right there was little we could do.
" Lead on Thayne."
Taking the rains to horse pulling the litter I fell in with the rest.

Braak Thayne

"Follow this road, about a half day's ride away are the ruins of a ancient tower. I will speak with you again there, until then I will be watching over you as you travel" I say to the group.

I slowly let me spectral form fade away as I continue watching the group's reaction. They are unsure of me, and in some ways of each other. Trust will start to develop in time.

Halia

Halia watches as the apparation disappears like it was made of mist. She shakes her head in wonder. "That must be some powerful magic to do what he did. I for one, am interested to see where this takes us all. "

See oocc before reading

I noticed movement amongst the trees. All turned as a lone figure came stumbling out. The man fell holding his side, blood could be seen seeping out from under the hand he used to keep his vitals in. Leaping from my horse, I raced over to the stricken man.
" Hold on man I will try to help you". Placing a hand on his forehead I recited a prayer.
He clutched at my sleeve
" Ambushed, Dead.... all dead..." he mumbled
" Easy there who is dead. And where are they"
" Killed by the leader, Garius they called him Garius"
My fist tighten and the name. Garius the man who murdered my wife and my infant son. The wounded man cried in pain, I looked down to see my hand rapped in the man's collar. Releasing my grip I laid him down gently. Turning I strode over to my horse. Drawing my sword I approached the litter.
" My lady I gave an oath to help you in you quest, Until this sword or my will is broken, but I swore stronger oaths over the graves of my family. ."
Thrusting the sword in to ground I held the hilt and kicked the flat of the blade. The sword shattered to pieces.
" I must honour those oath before all others. It is the reason I came to freeport, to pick up a lost trail. Now I have found him again I must see justice done." I choked on the last words They were hollow and I knew it. I was going to murder Garius and justice be damned. Reaching for the medallion I kept around my neck, I drew it out and removed it. Looking down at the symbol of Sul, I knelt down and placed it the hand of Jeselynn. I was unaware if she had heard a word I had spoken, but I was sure the other would fill her in.
" You may find a use for this certainly more than where I am going."
Standing I walked to Perrin Gripping his wrist in a warriors hand shake.
" Take care of her and see her safely to the temple. Perhaps they can help her."
Moving to Tanis
" Farewell Half elf, let not your thirst for revenge consume your as it has me. Move on and let it go. "
" Edge, well I've seen you can look after yourself. Halia Keep that spark in your eye and smile on your face. "
To all I spoke . " I regret leaving and perhaps I can catch up after. But this is something I must do. One man can enter the bandits camp and escape again before he is noticed. Farewell."
Mounting my horse I gripped the rains and headed off following the trail the man had left.

Tanthalas shook himself out of his stuper at the paladin's word's. "Fare thee well good sir. May your soul be cleansed and your your heart made anew." This was all a bit to much for him really, spectral creature's appearing saying they will lead them, a man changing in tro a bear, a paladin's who's heart was darker then it should of been. He wasn't ready for all of this. His goal had been to kill every hobgoblin in the realm yet it seemed even goal's change at time's. Bowing his head slightly he sigh's. He had only recently met these men and women yet he felt he belonged with them. "May Sul watch over you." He wisper's as the paladin rode off down the road. Looking at the other's he motion's his horse, Thunderbolt, ahead along the road. There where dark days ahead indeed....

Jeselynn

'Good luck on your journey, I hope you find peace. ' i spoke to the paladin.

watching him ride off, i whispered a small mental note .. i must remember to bless his journey once well..

and too watch over him.

Perrin

Perrin clasped the Paladines arm strongly. "Perhaps we will meet again on this tangled path of life. I was well from knowing you. Best luck in your quest. " Perrin watches as the Paladine rides off. He is more determined than ever to get Jeselynn to safety. They were down another fighter, making defense even more difficult.

Halia

Halia gave the paladin a big smile as he left. As she turned away from the others , she bit her lip. Such pain the paladin must have endured at the hands of that villian. Maybe this quest that Jeselynn had them on, would led them to a similar evil doer so that good could once again triumph.
