Freeport Adventurers

Jeselynn

I felt myself being moved but could not see who or how. My vision seemed blocked with haze and my mind could not clear it.

I know such things would happen. but how could i tell those i was with if i could not control my lips and words.

Everyone began moving at a steady pace. i was on a stead with Perrin , I could tell he was worried.

As i stopped the chanting, i felt aa presence in my mind. a touch someone faraway. seemingly trying to help hurry the spell along so that it might lift. I felt strength .

Clearing my throat, i tryed to talk....' Can you under... stand ...?'
'Aree...you aaable to make sensse of me?'

Perrin

Perrin looks over at Arciris. He nods his head sadly. "I have been seeking a cure for this for many years. So far I have had no luck at all. I join many adventures just for the chance that I may find a way to end it. A lot of what happens to me has to do with my upbringing. I was abandoned out in the cold as a wee baby and was taken in by a family of Polar bears. I have never been able to find out about my family, but the bears took good care of me. I owe them my life, so if this curse is what I have to bear for their love they gave me ; then so be it. "

Edge

"shhh," I shush them as Perrin finishes. In the silence, I strain to listen. "Did no one else hear that?"
I glance quickly around, mostly a defensive reaction given my almost certainty that the sound had come from Jeselynn. When I saw no threat, I moved closer and lowered my head to hers.
"Are you trying to speak to us, dear?"

Tanthalas rode ahead on Thunderbolt. It had been a rather long day and he would be much happeir when he had gotten some grub in his belly. Just then he hears edge go shhh. Turning to look at the others, pulling thunderbolt to a stop he watches the forest line. "Did no one else hear that?" Still not seeing any threat, he looks back at Edge as he rides up beside Jeselynn. Seeing him lower his head to her's, Tanthalas watched on. Reading thier lips the best he can, he waited for Jeselynn replie....

Perrin

Edge says "Shhh" and Perrin quiets down. He had heard Jeselynn mumbling before but could not make heads or tails of what was being said. He stood there and waited to see if Edge might be able to make it out.

OOC: Just wondering if your accepting new people into this game? If so I'd certainly like to join up. If possible. Also if I were to join up. What "level" of power would we be at? Novices? Medium grade? etc..etc./

Arciris

Seeing little repose form the mage, I scan the area for signs of pursuit.
" She may require a proper healer, and the rest of us could use a good night sleep. I suggest we head back to Freeport. We can warn the ruling council about the hobgoblins, heal up and start fresh in the morning. Besides a night boasting of our deeds in a crowded, inn may prove entertaining. I'll bet you'll not knock back the chance to impress some pretty serving maid, Eh Perrin? SUL, I'm a Paladin not a monk."
Turning my horse in a circle I waited for an answer.
" Unless anyone has a better idea?. "

Tanthalas nodded. "Aye, that would be very nice indeed. I have never been to freeport so this might be very intersting." Riding forwards a bit he stopped beside Jeselynn. Leaning closer he listened. "But I dont think she's hurt. I think she's casting a spell. It's better to be safe then sorry though.....".....

Perrin

Perrin looks at the others. " I am not sure if that would be a wise idea. Jeselynn seemed to be on a tight schedule and may not appreciate a detour of a few days like that. I saw we move further down the trail and set up camp for the night. Then if there is no improvement by morning, we will go back to town. "

Arciris

" It's settled then. She once spoke of a mountain of fire has anyone heard of it. Maybe we should try to reach it."

"Good idea Arciris, maybe the people there would be able to help us get her back to normal. "

Arciris

" There is mountain range to the north, is a small bet that's where she was taking us. We will need to make a litter to drag along behind the horses, just until we can find a cart or she improves enough to ride."
Perrin took his axe and made short work of a few trees, Halia supplied the ropes and in a short time later we continued on towards the mountain range. I kept my horse close to Jeselynn waiting for any sign of improvement. A few short hours in to the journey we where able to purchase a run down cart from a small village, we warn them of the danger the Hobgoblin brought and one of them promised to venture to Freeport and warn the town. This much relived me and I was able to keep my mind focused on the road ahead.

Tanthalas rode ahead of the rest scouting out the area. Every now and then he had seen some animal tracks as well as hobgoblin tracks. HE had wanted to rush off the first time he had saw the hobgoblin tracks but decvidec against it. HE had been hunting them for several years now by himself and it felt good to be with other's for once. Every now and then he would ride back to the others and inform them of what was ahead but mostly he rode alone, silently looking for any thing amiss on the way to these mountains that they had spoke of....

Jeselynn

Slipping in and out of sleep.. I heard them. i knew they had moved me and that we were moving towards the right mountains..

Feeling my strength i sat and asked them to stop.. 'we must find the winged-steads' i spoke..

Perrin

Even though he was near the front of the party, Perrins sensitive hearing brought Jeselynns words to his ears. "Winged steads, what is she talking about?" Perrin turns to the others to see if they understand what she is talking about .

Braak Thayne

I could see the group approaching the mountain range. They were still a couple of days away. I went to the Great Hall to inform the council of their approach. They decided that I should greet them on the road, and then watch over them from a distance. I leave the Great Hall and go to my chambers to cast the spells I need to.

"Dragons" I say to the group as they round a bend in the road. I appear as a spectral apprarition to the group before me. The horses aren't frightened by my spell, instinctively knowing that it won't harm them.

Arciris

" Sul!, a spectral minion stand back I will attempt to turn him"
Racing the horse forward, I mouthed the words to the turn undead spell only to feel the spell fail. I was sure that the spell work but the apparition remained, drawing sword I charged again. Swinging low in the saddle, I drove the point of my blade where the heart would be. The weapon passed straight though, with no effect.
" Damn no effect" Circling around back to my companions. I prepared for another pass.

Braak Thayne

"You can't harm this me. This is just a projection of my image. Continue on your chosen path and I will guide you to where you need to go" I say to the paladin.

Haila

Haila looks at the Paladins fruitless efforts to hurt the spectural being. She is concerned since she has not dealt with the undead much. She looks over at the others to see what they want to do, when the Spectre speaks. She is not convinced that he is telling the truth, but follows him, since there is nothing more that she can do.

Jeselynn

watching as the apperation appeared, I tried to sit up..

'welcome' i spoke, before falling back into the makeshift bad.

Braak Thayne

"Rest easy young lady, you will be safe soon enough" I say to the woman on the makeshift litter.

"I am Braak Thayne, a novice of the Order of the Dragons, and I will appear like this from time to time to guide you along your journey. I am not undead, but this is an image of me. I am real and you will meet me soon enough. I will be watching your progress constantly until we meet" I say to the rest of the group.

My spectral form stands in the road in front of them. I watch to guage their reactions to my explanations. They are protective of one another, this is a good sign.

Arciris

" You talk a fine story Braak Thayne, Dragons!" I scoffed
" Our lady welcomed you, but her life rest in our hands, Fancy spells and welcoming word are well and good. What proof do you have of you intentions."
Not yet ready to give in to his words I put myself between him and the litter.

Braak Thayne

I look at the paladin with a slightly wicked grin starting to form on my face. A cautious one, and skeptical at that. I look around and spot what I need about 50 yards behind the party. I make a gesture with my left hand and a lightning bolt arcs out and strikes a dead tree behind the party, snapping the trunk near the base of the tree.

"That my dear paladin could have been you. I have the power to kill most if not all of this party without endangering myself, yet I have made no hostile actions against any of you. I will guide you along the path necessary, and help out when you need it. That is what I have been instructed to do by my High Priest" I say to the party. "My intentions are only to help you, not to harm."

I continue to stand there, not making any threatening moves, just waiting there patiently for the party's reaction.

Perrin

Perrin looked the power of the Apparation and realized that without Jeselynn's magic, there was little they could do on a direct attack. It was better to go along and see what this creatures intentions were. If they were evil, they may be in a better position at that point to do something about it. That was better than getting zapped right here where they stood.

Perrin looked over at the Paladin. "Lets go with him. He could have killed us like he said, but decided not to. We have nothing to lose with following him. "
