carrie..............So how did it go at the doctor's?
Fuck me if my monitor didn't die last fucking Tuesday. No fucking warning. One minute I was up and running the next thing I knew, I was fucking looking at a black fucking screen. Just picked up a new one yesterday and am back in fucking business! Fucking yippie! I fucking hate being without a fucking computer! LOL!

Hi Hun, The doc ordered an MRI to pinpoint which of 3 tumors it could be. 2 are operable and the other can only be taken care of with radiation. He will know more when he gets the results and we'll go from there. Thank You for asking. I'm getting frustrated to the point of saying FUCK IT and just dealing with it w/o going to any more docs. Hubby and the girls are saying no way I'm going to just forget it even if they have to hogtie me into the car to get me there!

We do fucking care! I have always felt a connection with you. I was born in Detroit, and grew up in Michigan. All of my summers while I was at home were spent in the upper pennisula.........some very good childhood memories!

Where did you spend your time when you came up here? There are lots of beautiful places to see. No wonder it's called "God's Country"! I love to go fucking agate hunting on Lake Superior!

It's not much fucking better up here! Actually it seems worse because it's so much farther to drive between gas stations!

My parents were from the Houghton/Hancock area. Actually Toivola. I have relatives all over the area up there. My sisters and I spent a lot of days on Agate Beach on Lake Superior. We would swim, sit on the beach and walk and look for agates. I knew it was time for us to come in out of the water when their lips started to turn blue. I have walked in that water as an adult and wondered how in the fuck we could ever stay in for as long as we did! Fucking water is like ice!
I have been all over up there and you're right, it's a beautiful place. I have been up to Copper Harbor and come back along the west shoreline, which is one of my favorite areas. Monks have a shop along the coast and they sell breads, cakes, chocolates and jams. We also went up Brockway Mountain Drive a number of times. There's a forest in that area that has never been cut for timber, and I have hiked that with my ex. I got off the path and stepped in mud so thick it took my hiking boot off! LOL!
Paradise is another one of my favorites because of the blueberry festival. One of my favorite memories is going into a local place and having coffee and blueberry shortcake for breakfast while the locals sat around having coffee and laughing at us! The falls in that area are also wonderful. I can't remember the spelling but I know it's an Indian name!
Porcupine Mountains is another beautiful area, the Black River, and I have spent a number of camping and canoeing trips in the Sylvania Wilderness area.
I would love to come back up there someday. But there are a lot of bad memories for me also.........

Hell...You were brave enough to put more than a foot in Lake Superior?? You got guts! LOL The falls You are talking about about are the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls and You're right...they are beautiful. Lots of falls up here because they drain into either Lake Superior or Lake Michigan and I live halfway between them.
LOL Have You been to Lake in the Clouds over in the Porcupines? My grandson stood on the escarpment when he was 2,almost 3 and threw rocks in the lake. He didn't understand that the lake was 2 miles below us and no way those rocks were going to reach it. I wouldn't know about the fucking hikers we could see, though. I've often wondered if any of those rocks hit them. LOL
We also saw some falls...wayyyy off the beaten path called Minedo Falls. I was trying to tell him the name of the falls and he kept saying "they're YOUR neato falls gramma??" Finally I said " no they're YOUR neato falls." "OHHHH, they're MY neato falls??" "Yes" . After that, he told everyone about HIS Neato Falls and how he's going to build a house and live there when he gets bigger. To this day he says he remembers that. (He's 14 now).

LOL! I sure love the area. And yes, I have seen the Lake in the Clouds. But I do not remember seeing the falls there. If I had seen them I bet I would want a fucking house right there also!

I will fucking get back up there someday. I have a cousin up there who I keep in touch with. When I do I would love to go back to the Porcupine Mountains and that whole area.

I am so pissed off right now. I got a letter from the doctor that the surgeon wants to work with, wanting me to come to his office for a consultation. The thing that pisses me off is that first off, because he is a plastic surgeon, He doesn't take insurance and he wants 300 bucks upfront when I get there, 2nd His office is 150 miles away (one way).3rd, it means I would have to take a day off without pay and gas is so expensive. 4th and 5th, the appointment is not until Sept 2nd and the "tentative" date for the surgery is the 15th. I am soooooo aggravated, I'm about to say fuck it and not have anything done about my eye at all.
