Once I got to high school, I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor. I had injured myself playing football and went to one, so of course I now wanted to be one. Then I found out my family (which never talked about money) gently informed me we didn't have enough money for me to go to college. So, instead of trying to become a chiropractor, I I volunteered to join the navy in the submarine force.

Did my 6 year stint and found that my new skills in the nuclear industry were coveted. So I went to work at a nuke plant. I started off as a field operator, then got my NRC license (think Homer Simpson), before transferring to training as an instructor.
