Gamer Chicks

Just found this thread. Big variety of gamer here. Not too much on the console thing (Zoids:Battle Legends(GC), Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Wii), Wii Sports), but in other ways I am quite a bit of a gamer.

On the computer I play Diablo I and II, WarCraft II, StarCraft, Balder's Gate I and II, and Hubby not too long ago introduced me to a M.U.D. he used to play a long time ago.

Paper and Pencil I have played Paladium, D&D (1st Addition, thanks), Runescape, Vampire (2nd Edition), Werewolf, and Gamma World.

And finally my L.A.R.P. resume. Masquerade, Ascention(A time or two.), Apocalypse, and Changeling (Only a couple of times).

Alrighty, I've finally done it. And taken the plunge into WoW.

After playing consoles for ages, and the odd FPS on pc here and there.

So anyone have any tips and what not for a new WoW player?

Welcome to WoW. Say goodbye to your life as you know it ;). Have you chosen a class?

Ya it's just the ten day trial. But I'm a Night Elf Druid. If I like it enough to keep going after the 10 days then I might start something else. I'm not really liking the druid very much.

My first character was a night elf druid. I liked it, can do just about anything. At the lower levels everything sucks though. I mostly play my tauren shaman but dabbled a little with a blood elf mage at one point.

Tell me about it!  I just hit my 20 day mark in the 30 day free trial and I have already leveled my Night Elf Druid to 29 and my Dwarf Hunter to 8! I'm addicted!

haha so are you going to stick with it and renew after your trial is over? You know you wanna

haha OMG same here!

I started a Dwarf Warrior and am having SO much more fun. Got to level 8 the first night I was playing.

Oh another question. Are there points to assign at each level? Or is it just the talent points you get at lvl 10? etc.

OH! and how the heck do I get make my druid a bear!

You start getting the talent points at 10 (and every level after) which will determine the direction you'll be taking your character spec wise (caster, melee dps/tank, healer). I mostly leveled melee because it's easier to get gear and there's less time between mobs while questing (because you don't have to stop and drink to recharge your mana bar). There aren't any other points to assign. You also get new skills at all the even levels until 60, and then after that you get new skills every level (if I'm remembering correctly).

I can't remember the level, but at 10ish you get a quest from the druid trainers to get your bear over in moonglade :).

Oh hell yes! I was frustrated this morning when I logged on and all the realms are under maintenance until 2pm my time! that's addiction for ya!

Maintenance day is the worst.. but honestly, when else would I get anything done? haha :D

I know what you mean but I am thinking here is my plan for Tuesdays {until I get a job that is :rolleyes:} I will stay up all night on Monday night and go to bed around 8 am on Tuesday morning since that is when they start the maintenance :D {I'm EST btw}

*taps head* now I'm thinking like a true addict :D

haha, I used to do that when I was living in the states. I'm in south east asia right now, so maintenance starts at like 5pm usually, completely killing my normal evening of playing wow :(. Like I said.. I've got to catch up on my work sometime :D.

Wow...people on Trial Accounts. And complaints of Maintenance Day. I remember when Tuesdays meant you got no WoW time. That was fun...or better yet, when Blizzard nuked all of the Legacy Servers one month and we lost a week of WoW time (talk about withdrawls).

Of course, I remember Closed Beta when you got Talent Points at Level 2 and 40 was the Level limit and you could put enchants on Fishing Poles (ahh, nothing like watching people duel with glowing fishing rods). But, good luck on your journey to level 80. Have fun :).

wow...how did I miss this thread? also...too many gals into WoW....PSO is better, so how come there are so few gals playing it? makes us guys feel alone....

*sigh* Another Tuesday... whatever shall I do?

No seriously... hehe.

I slept in :D Maintenance should be done in a few more hours and I can live with that :D

My trial membership period is up today... and I hit level 47 last night... talking to my BF he says that's really not a lot of heavy game time playing but to know that I made it halfway to the top in less than a month... that's addiction to me

Dragon... forgive me... PSO? I'm new to the gaming world and have only heard of FF11 and WoW

no, PSO is actually a Dreamcast game that got ported and upgraded to several different systems. Phantasy Star Online went from being a single offline mode to being an online/offline, purely online, MULTIPLAYER Offline/Online, and finally, team online game (the final version, Blue Burst, offered Solo mode in only eps 1 and 2, but you couldn't play it offline, while they added a purely multiplayer Ep 4 before being dropped by SEGA in favor of Phantasy Star Universe which is far less impressive)
