no, PSO is actually a Dreamcast game that got ported and upgraded to several different systems. Phantasy Star Online went from being a single offline mode to being an online/offline, purely online, MULTIPLAYER Offline/Online, and finally, team online game (the final version, Blue Burst, offered Solo mode in only eps 1 and 2, but you couldn't play it offline, while they added a purely multiplayer Ep 4 before being dropped by SEGA in favor of Phantasy Star Universe which is far less impressive)

ah yes....i enjoyed the PSU, i do however remember playing the one with coop... i'm so horrible idr which one that was... but it was fun ^^

PSO for the gamecube had a coop offline mode. Don't get me wrong. I played PSU. Bought it when it came out. Actually, I had it reserved. They gave me back thirty dollars when it came out, because the price went down to 20. After about 20 minutes, I was bored.

So.... being a total newbie and not really knowing anything about what I'm doing in WoW I ended up in an instance last night..... SOLO and didn't know it - yeah yeah it says on the map that the temple is a 5-man instance in the Swamp of Sorrows {obviously didn't see that til later} but every other quest on my log that is a dungeon says so and this one didn't and I made it all the way through the maze to the temple itself before I was ambushed by 6 monsters and of course died {it is SUCH a pain in the arse to find your corpse in a maze!} and I now know what those "portals" are with the cloudy light around them are

Ya'll can quit laughing at the dungeon virgin now

I think it can go without saying that as soon s I recovered my corpse I hearthstoned out of there

lol i was a orc hunter so the dungeons but ya i was like u at first didn't know what the crap it was when i started... was like oh ...cloudy... port lol

I prefer Oblivion to Warcraft. Mainly because Warcraft isn't as good as the trailer for Warcraft was.

and yeah, PSU had its moments. the only real draw for me was the main character's instructor, Karen Erra, in story mode

can't say i've played oblivion so i wouldn't really know on the vs there... i mainly liked FFXI>WoW but hey i had alot of friends on there

I didn't really like FFXI. The setup seemed wrong to me as both an online game and as Final Fantasy. But I do know that the only game worse than WoW is Everquest.

Well, at your level, then you should also avoid Scholomance (Western Plaguelands), Stratholme (Eastern Plaguelands) and Dire Maul (Feralas). Those are the main Instances in the 50-60 range. But I will say, doing Instances are fun and a good way to get nifty items (whether as loot from Bosses or as Reputation Rewards). If you have a good Guild, have them run you through them.

I do wish I had a good guild - I joined my ex-husband's {yes we are still very good friends and I feel sort of a commitment to him by joining the guild} and the members of my guild are rarely on, so I am doing a LOT of soloing {not that I mind until I get ambushed - lol}

I am sure before I reach level 80 {which at this rate will be early next month } I will find some friends to instance with

I'd found a couple of those ports before but was hesitant to go into them {much lower level than I am now} and tried explaining them to my BF and he thought I'd found the black portal... obviously I didn't describe them well enough until today when I told him about my adventure

Well, it could be worse. Just remember, if you're suddenly in an area with nothing but Elites, use every escape method possible to get out of there. Unless, you're one of the special classes that can survive taking on Elites by themselves.

I'm sorry to hear that your Guild doesn't help/isn't there. What Server do you play on? I stick with a mostly Social Guild on Shattered Hand and we are always there to help people out (plus, most of us have our favorite Instances that we love to run).

I'm on Durotan but my BF wants me to switch to a Hoarde PvP realm I get tired of dying right now - I can't imagine getting killed ALL the time

Well, Shattered Hand is a PVP server. There IS a certain thrill for surviving to level 80 on a PVP server. Whored is easy-mode, though. Having played both sides, it's odd to see that Alliance has to go into Contested Territory from level 16 onward, but Whored have the Barrens that they can get to 25 without being flagged for PVP. Also, Quest Rewards are better for Whored...go figure.

AphroditeReborn: Love hearing your newbie stories. haha, I always get a kick out of people's experiences... especially when I'm trying to teach a friend how to play and completely forget that they have no prior knowledge of the game. Don't feel bad though, we all started out that way.. I remember when I was first getting into WoW, I swore that wool must come from killing the little level 1 sheep.... imagine my surprise when I discovered that they didn't even have loot. heh.

Oh, and pvp servers aren't that bad especially right now when everyone is busy with WotLK. I play on Mal'Ganis.

with PSO, it's easier. All you have to get used to is the differences in droppage. item drops are different online

I'll say this, don't rush to 80...enjoy the game and the zones and the experiences. And learn your class. It's disappointing when you see a level 80 who doesn't have some of the basic abilities of their class nor has any knowledge of how to play it. Some of my earlier experiences are being in a group and hearing the Warrior (who was tanking) say they didn't have Taunt because while he was soloing things, he didn't need it. Oh, that was a hard lesson learned and a big repair bill.

Thanks all for support of my new addiction I am soloing most of the time and trying to learn my character, but again I agree that while soloing there are things I don't use - I am enjoying the experience and the exploration however I have not done an instance yet and frankly am scared to knowing that I don't know everything my druid can do - I've tagged a couple of times with one or two other players and found it fun to be the damage giver as my cat and also as the druid from a distance, but I am thinking that I will advance my levels and then work on my instances in the lower levels just for practice - I know the loot won't be good but I really don't care - I am still learning - after all it's been less than 50 days for me

LOL on the sheep! I found that my money makers are skinning and herbs and boy do they come in handy

*big grins* I have a level 22 Shaman that I managed to get that high in about three days - I had a blast, but now concentrating on taking my druid to 80 but I'm sure my shaman will make it there someday as well

I've had people sending me whispers asking me to join for a while now, but I didn't feel confident in my abilities and my character - My daughter finally convinced me last night to accept the invite from someone I didn't know and had never played with before and I just told them I was a newbie to instances and they still invited me It was so much fun! Took us 4 tries with the final boss but we did it! And I had some comments from the other players that I did fine

I had to share a n00b story a guild mate of mine told me the other night on vent hehe

His first toon was a hunter and his buddy that got him into playing wasa druid so when my guildmate finally figured out that you had to spend your points in the tree he asked his friend well how do I know what to spend my points in his friend responded with "well Im ballance myself but do whatever you think is best by reading what the points do" my friend goes "ok" and starts spending his points 3 points in marsman, 3 in survival, 3 in beast mastery and continues to do that. He then hits lvl 25 and gets invited to an instance. The guys in the instance ask him "well what spec are you" and my guild mate responds "Oh im a ballance hunter"

He had us all crackin up on vent in his defense though he is one of the best healing priests I have ever run with

That is funny I recently discovered vent myself and not sure how I might have played with others without it it is extremely handy - especially now that my guild {which is 99% family} is starting a new raiding group from the beginning so everyone can level the same - so we already have a leader {who luckily will be our tank} and she is already bossing people around - LOL {not me, it's my daughter - and she doesn't get it from me - *insert angel smiley here* LMAO}
