Four Alliance Epic 80's here... Warrior Tank, Healing Pally, Surv Hunter and a Rogue ( not Rouge) for those randy moments . Currently raiding Ulduar. I agree with earlier...gamer chicks are Huge turn on.


Could be convinced to move servers for the right gamerette!

Actually, if you REALLY want to go back, it depends on which Blizzard Lore you want to go with. Either way, the Whored started it. I'm not saying the Alliance didn't do some horrible things, too. But...2 words for you, Fel Orcs...need I say more? Plus, if it wasn't for the Whored, Guldan wouldn't have consorted with Archimonde, the World Tree wouldn't have been destroyed, the High Elves would have stayed high (on Arcane Magic), Arthas would never have become the Lich King, Sylvannas wouldn't have become a Banshee and Lorderon wouldn't have fallen. Oh, and the Undead/Forsaken wouldn't have died and suddenly forgotten how to speak Common (go figure).

Again, I'm not saying the Alliance are completely without blame here, we did stick the Orcs in "Internment Camps", we did slaughter our own people at Stratholme, we turned against our Allies, the High Elves, after helping to Liberate the Undercity our the Human King decides to try and kill Thrall and it is because of the Humans that the Lich King was rereleased.

Either way, stupid Fel Orcs and their Demon Worshipping ways.

And by the ways, "Death to the Horde!!!" Seriously, though...I'm too blasé about PvP.

So, anybody doing anything nifty in WoW? I'm trying to get the Loremaster of Northrend for my Tailor and the Dungeoneer of Northrend for my Tailor. Just 5 more Instances for Dungeoneer and a boatload more Quests for Loremaster /sigh, /wrist

Right now I am sitting here watching my daughter play FFXI... it seems so.... bland to me /shrug

The rest of the family {her sister, future brother in law, father, grandmother and mother {me}} have all tried to get her to come to WoW... to no avail /sad

Funny thing though this gamer family started with her dad and her grandmother on FFXI... her sister joined too... slowly they all moved over to WoW and none of them but my youngest is interested in FFXI anymore.... strange

lol well does she have alot of friends on there? that was my problem i had a set group i liked to do things with and 2 linkshells i was in, its been awhile since i've played sadly and it kills me to think of my friends on there... but i've heard they changed alot and for FF Mithra Rulez hehe

whee, title change and status update. Phantasy Star Zero has become Phantasy Star Portable, and does not currently support online gaming modes. More importantly, it does seem they have released a PSP version

My mistake, it looks like PSPortable is a scaled down version of PSUniverse's story mode, and Zero is still on

Having played other MMO's, WoW is one of the best. Not THE best. But one of the best. Game play is twitchy, Story doesn't suck but it isn't anywhere NEAR canon, graphics SHOULDN'T be awesome (you want graphics that are good enough that they look nice on a regular basis, but not too high end that most people can't play them) and yes, the Trailers are phenomenal. Having been a gamer since Pong, and a computer gamer since the Old Vic-20's, you want a game that will have the appeal for gamers to play but the graphics for many to enjoy. There's a HUGE reason that Console Systems have taken off over PC games...no need to upgrade every 6 months, just every 3-5 years. If PC games could remain viable for 3 to 5 years on the same graphics, then whole Industries would crumble. Either way, I'm glad that WoW doesn't have "über" graphics. It's good enough that it's not 8-bit. It runs decently on a machine that doesn't have to cost you more than $500 to make and, despite your Sig, there are more than 100 people playing it. Everybody has their own game-geekery. I've played WoW, SW: G, Eve: Online, EQ, DAoC and UO. All had their own version of Crack. I can go on and on for hours on what I liked about each (and what I didn't like about each, including WoW). Mostly, though, I like the Social Aspect of WoW. I like the Casual Aspect...I have a social life, I don't Raid 24/7, I don't play WoW all the time. I actually go out and do things, hang out with friends...although most of them I got hooked on WoW, so we talk about it.

Anyways, games rise and fall. Back in the day, Phantasy Star was pimp-tastic. Then Final Fantasy rose to nigh Legendary status. Legend of Zelda, Super Mario RPG, Neverwinter Nights...everything that goes up...must come down. WoW will eventually die. Subplanted by WoW 2 or some such. Or World of Starcraft (average lifespan of a Terran Marine is .5sec...who wants to play THAT toon?!?) or World of Diablo (I mean Diablo 3). Or whatever else comes out. Gamers are extremely fickle. We're always looking for the new and shiney...and as soon as we get it, we complain it's not new and/or not shiney enough. Look at any RPG, they have to tweak things unrealistically for balance (Champions had a section of Banned Character Concepts...I wonder if they're creatable in the upcoming Champions Online). Look at FPS games, who can realistically carry around 15+ different weapons, 1000+ rounds of ammo, 100+ grenades and explosives AND bunny hop all day? Or RTS games...Orcish Artillery was never...EVER a good strategy...but the Zergling Rush, the Stim Pack Marine Rush, the Ghoul Rush, the Tank Rush, etc, etc, etc...

Good games are in the Eye of the Beholder. Which was one of the best RPG's ever...aside from the Bard's Tale series. But I think I've rambled on long enough on this .

third, plot. (the only thing warcraft succeeds at)
fourth, playability (in most games, this is referred to as replay value. In online games, it's a measure of the fun of playing and everything that can be done....warcraft pales in comparison to PSO in this aspect, as in all others)

also, I ever really liked any of the D&D video games....they were kind of annoying (especially the Dragonlance ones....never could get past the first area in Heroes of the Lance)

Again, your criteria are matter of opinion. People on GameFAQs are voting Legend of Zelda, the Ocarina of Time as the Best Game of ALL time. PSO didn't even make the list. FF 7 was the second runner up. Both were good games, Zelda: OoT and FF: 7, but OoT had a terrible control scheme and was on a horrible system. FF: 7 was also a really good game but, PS 1 graphics weren't exactly the height of awesome. FF: 7 was also an unfinished game that they rushed out for the holiday season. Personally, I think WoW has some of the best Appeal, it is one of the few MMO's out there that allows for Solo content, it doesn't require you to spend 50+hrs a week to get one level...the group/raid content is there, but it isn't required. Gameplay. I think, having only played the Demo, is giving it only 1/100th of a chance. There is a HUGE difference in gameplay between Levels 1-10 and 70-80. The Classes, although some are similar, do offer a variety of abilities to melee, cast spells, ranged damage, etc. Playability. Having played from 1-80 on a few toons in WoW, having watched the game evolve from Closed Beta to Retail to Burning Crusade to Lich King...I've seen the game open up and expand. I'm sorry that you judge the entirety of the game on only 10 levels of it and only the opening few areas. Personally, I feel that Blizzard should have an Open Trial, create any kind of toon, give them maxed out gear, let people play in any dungeon and see the actual game, not just the intro areas...there is a LOT more to the game.

PS: The only D&D games I really liked were Eye of the Beholder, I didn't like the follow ups too much, Neverwinter Nights, first one only, and the other one I can't recall...it was a flight sim where you rode on a dragon. It was pretty nifty. Aside from that, though, the slew of D&D games have been fairly generic and mostly boring. Bard's Tale 1-3, Wasteland, Dragon Wars, Mars Saga, Ultima 1-8...those were good RPG's. Ahh, the old days of Floppy Swaps.

Hi, I'm Chris.

Just a bump for my new favorite thread. Been gaming since the Lone Wolf books when I was 11. From there I jumped to Doom (through DOS), then I actually lived in a collectible card shop for a while playing Magic the Gathering/Star Wars/Star Trek, and LAN Starcraft/Halflife/Baulder's Gate/Rogue Spear.

And then I got EverQuest.

So, four years later I sign off from EQ for the last time - after our raiding guild (best guild experience ever) closed up. 485 real days played.

Moved onto WoW - I have an 80 Shadow Priest, Horde of course.

Other games I dork out to:

Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, Might and Magic IV, Heroes of Might and Magic, Sim City, Thief, Dungeon Keeper, Vampire the Masquerade, D&D games like Eye of the Beholder, The Pools of Radiance and Temple of Elemental Evil, Counterstrike, CoD4, Hellgate London, Fallout 3, Call of Cthulhu, and more and more and more.

I've played through all of those, and most of the RTS games.

Also, pen and paper!

Advanced D&D - up to 3.5, Mage, Vampire, Werewolf, Palladium, GURPS, Rifts, Birthright (hehe), every other pen and paper RGP out there.


Anywho, I'm a big gamer. If the dork resume sparked any common interests I welcome any conversation!

Just dropping in to see how my thread is doing ... someone commented earlier that the WoW discussion is much like Creep, and I suppose I can't argue.

Anybody in here into the Nazi Zombies extension on Call of Duty?

That was me. As for Nazi Zombies...that soudns too Wolfenstein 3-D'ish to me. Right now, though, I haven't seen too many games that I'm all gung-ho for. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is going to be out soon for DLC, I'm excited for that. The previews I've read for Guitar Hero 5 is nice...I am one of those psychos with 4 Guitar controllers and 3 Drum sets. Dead Rising 2 looks nifty and I'm anxious to see more for Left 4 Dead 2.

As for WoW...only 3 more Dungeons left for Northrend Dungeoneer and a boatload more Quests for Northrend Loremaster...anybody else anxious for 3.2 to drop and the cheaper Epic Flying skill cost drop? I'm happy because I should only need to pay 3000 Gold for it instead of the 5000 Gold and I already have made my Epic Flying Carpet (woot).

Hey Everybody...it seems this thread has seen better days. How is everybody? What games are everybody playing? I'm still doing WoW. I just got the Loremaster of Northrend Achievement on my Mage. Now, I just have to get it for Outlands, Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor (sigh). Also, I've been playing Worms 2 on my 360...anxious for TMNT 4: Turtles in Time...

So how is everybody else? Anyone else excited about any new games? Anyone upset about a game?

Otherwise, this is just a somewhat lengthy bump.

I'm still just dorking out in WoW, still trying to kill frigging Yogg on 25 man, and trying to keep the guild and raid going through the summer months when everyone loses their motivation. All in all, it's getting rather boring and I'm not even working on achievements anymore. I'm having more fun teaching intelligent newbies how to play on non-raid nights than anything else.

Beyond that I'm impatiently waiting for Blizzard to release the next batch of crack. I have downloaded a couple of old school style adventure games, but have yet to find anything that really holds my attention for more than an hour or two.

But in all seriousness ... you might want to look into downloading the original Fallout for PC if you can find a torrent of it. Or even one of the old Diablo games.

I've been drooling over the old Diablo games and giving them serious consideration....but I know they're just going to make me even more impatient and make me want the new one even sooner. Sigh....it's Blizzard, we'll get it when they get around to it.

I may have to look into the original Fallout. I don't think I've ever played that one. Thanks for the suggestion.
