Had to stop and say that "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" was awesome, as was "Nobunaga's Ambition." Both ate my brain. I was probably lucky that I did not own whatever console they were on at the time, or I probably would've forgotten to eat. As it was, it took the threat of grievous bodily injury to tear me away from then when I got the chance to play.

I was so happy to see Orson Scott Card give credit in "Ender's Game" for some of the strategy inspired by the game.

That and "Alpha Centauri" are games I'll play over and over, year after year, and it's still different every time. It orders my thoughts in ways I can't even define. Games that respond to good planning and patience. Yay!

Stinker is the skunk vanity pet you get for having 50 pets (achievment reward)

I'm working on getting my Little Fawn now (about 12 pets away)
Just got Stinker last night on my mage. Couldn't think of how i could obtain that 50th pet because every pet on the Auction House was a pet i already had. Then it occurred to me that there was the quest in West Fall for a pet chicken. Cost me 20 silver, i think, for the feed. Now i only have work on getting 24 more pets in order to get my fawn.

*hint*

If you are Alliance, you can go to Saldean's farm and speak with farmer Saldean and purchase some special chicken feed. Target any chicken at the farm and make a macro for "/chicken" and spam that to the chicken for a random amount of times. Then it will give you the quest. Feed it the special chicken feed and then it will give you a pet chicken.

If you are Horde, then you need to get the chicken feed off the neutral AH. You might have to fight off the farmer and any other npc's around the farm, but you will be able to get the pet chicken as well.

Good luck. ;)

On another note, started the Higher Learning Achievement on my druid. Only have the Violet Hold book to get now. Took me only 6 days to get this achievement on my mage. This time it has taken 5 weeks and i'm still trying to get that last book. *sighs* good things come to those who wait i guess :p

Hahaha, Portal!!!! "This was a triumph...I'm making a note here, huge success."

Anyhow, I'm addicted to WoW, just like "satindesire". I raid bleeding edge content and have way too many achievements. My main is max level, JCing/Inscript, and is a Draenei Tankadin ;). God, I love her :).

Do Doms play video games? Hmm..

I wonder what my odds are of finding a Dom, in my area, that plays WoW. I'd ballpark it at around the same drop rate as a Hyacinth Macaw.

First little PVP experience last night. We were heading into the outskirts of BFD to get a Corrupted Kor Gem for my little Belf pally, and came across a couple of Alliance types. One was a dwarf warrior that happened to be PVP flagged. His buddy sees us and hits the hearth button, as did he a second later.

I stepped forward, gave the dwarf a look, and started slapping him down. It was an interesting little fight, as I couldn't get stop slapping that "Exorcism" button among other things.

It was oddly fun. The girls were griping at me (and not helping), as "He's not doing anything bad to you!" or somesuch. Pfft. He was Alliance and PVP flagged on an RP server. He was up to no good, period.

Anyway, first PVP experience, and it was fun. Not sure I'd want a consistent diet of it, but it was exciting.

hahaha! Can't use exorcism on players ><!!!

You should play on a PvP server. It gets really cut-throat!! My "birth server" was an RP server, so my current guildies call me a "carebear". I refuse to leave Dalaran unless my hearth is up (bubble-hearthing ftw). I even try to help hordies.

To the first part, a most definite yes!! You see them everywhere, you just have to know what to look for. Guild Masters and/or Raid Leaders should have many of the call signs of being Doms: Force people to do things they might rather not do, give orders, organize activities, set goals, ect. They are the boss of the raid/guild, that's pretty close to the definition of Dom. There are other people that show obvious signs of being a Dom, you just have to look for them. But, keep in mind that many vanilla people show signs of having dominate personalities without being part of the BDSM lifestyle, so good luck to you in your search.

And to the second part: Not nearly that rare, I hope.

Haha, yea, I try to feel out GM's and RL's first. I'm getting really good at dropping key words that'll be ignored by vanilla folk, but picked up on in a heart beat by anyone in the lifestyle. Sadly, I haven't found any local Dom's that way, which is odd, seeing that SF is just around the corner...

I am far too much a n00b at this to add the additional stress of PvP aggro all over the place. I've helped many an opposed faction player, though I am more likely to do it when playing Horde. Those Alliance guys just seem to need more help than Horde players :D

There was one night elf that I wound up bailing out a couple of times. She hugged me.

You know, the single best GL and RL that I've ever played with was not dominant at all. His wife was dominant as shit though. He was a genial guy that just had a real talent for organising things and motivating people. It helped that he was an upper level NCO in the Coast Guard in RL, and was used to motivating his fellow Coasties.

His right-hand man, however, was most assuredly a dominant, and one of the very few that I immediately got on well with. Fantastic guys both, and I really truly wish they were playing these days. I did not care for raiding, but had fun raiding with them.

Yes, Doms play video games. They just may not know they are Doms yet. ;)
It is where B and I met. He's not in my immediate area, but close enough for visits. :cattail: Just keep your mind open. You never know who you might already know that has have Domness in them.

even better: Tome of Cold Weather Flying

at level 80 players can buy this heirloom item for 1,000 gold and send it to an alt of the same realm, faction and account. The tome can be used to learn Cold Weather Flying at level 68, consuming the tome in the process.

Really? The "lower the mount cost" patch? *hops up and down*

Our little team of blood elves made 30 a couple of days ago. My pally of course got his mount, and the girls have been eyeing me with some moderate discontent. As a result, I've not been using said mount. Mounts for them were judged to be a bit too heavy an expense right yet, especially with this patch. So now they can get mounts, and I can use mine. I personally feel like this calls for a woot.

WooT!

I am liking the fact my little lvl 70 lock tailor can fly once I pool some money!!!!

& by the time I get my Paladin to 68, I should have the money to have him flying in Northrend (right now he's sitting in Dalaran working on the last 3 points of Blacksmithing)

& the grub will be very very happy to have a mount. I'll have to get his little hunter to 20

It is rough to travel together with different speed mounts. There's no way around the irritation factor. I've seen the ass end of Ulaven's mounts disappear in the distance enough for my own woot!

Yaaaay!

Yup, everyone I have now will be able to have some mount. Even the little ones I made when my account got hacked are close enough. I stopped playing them for a bit because I didn't want to go over 20 and then be tempted to spend too much because...I hate not having mounts.

Now I can't wait to canter up and down the road from Darkshire, avoiding Stitches :)

ok, looked it up. will add a clicky
suffice to say, we are getting our talent points reimbursed.

from what my DK guildies have been saying (& my DK is mostly there for the professions, not to raid) tanking got hammered with the nerf bat.

I know what I am doing for my DPS (Blood) spec, but I have not a clue what to do for tanking. I was going with a mix of unholy & frost, but right now I am not sure what I will do.

(besides, I got raptors to farm & that permenant repair bot schematic to farm before screwing with the DK. Yay! more pets!!!!)

Death Knights

Due to significant talent changes, all death knight talents will be reset for players.
Blood Plague: Damage done increased by 15%.
Chains of Ice: Now reduces movement by 95% instead of 100%. The main effect of this change will be that targets of Chains of Ice will not have to re-issue a movement command to continue moving.
Frost Fever: Damage done increased by 15%.
Frost Presence: 10% bonus health reduced to 6% bonus stamina.
Frost Strike: This ability can now be dodged, parried, or blocked. Weapon damage bonus reduced to 55%, down from 60%.
Icebound Fortitude: Cooldown increased to 2 minutes.
Talents
Blood
Bloody Strikes: This talent now provides 5/10/15% increased damage to Blood Strike instead of 15/30/45%.
Dancing Rune Weapon: This ability now has a fixed duration of 12 seconds (which can still be modified by its glyph) and a fixed cost of 60 runic power.
Veteran of the Third War: Stamina bonus reduced to 1/2/3%.
Frost
Blood of the North: Reduced to a 3-point talent. Increases Blood Strike and Frost Strike damage by 3/6/10%. There is now a 33/66/100% chance whenever you hit with Blood Strike or Pestilence that the Blood Rune will become a Death Rune when it activates.
Lichborne: Duration reduced to 10 seconds, and cooldown reduced to 2 minutes.
Threat of Thassarian: New 3-point talent. When dual-wielding, your Death Strikes, Obliterates, Plague Strikes, Blood Strikes and Frost Strikes have a 30/60/100% chance to also deal damage with your off-hand weapon. Off-hand strikes are roughly one half the effect of the original strike.
Toughness: This talent now grants 2/4/6/8/10% armor instead of 3/6/9/12/15%, placing it in line with similar abilities of other classes.
Unholy
Desecration: This talent has been reduced to 2 points for 25/50% snare and no longer increases damage done by the death knight. It has also been moved one tier earlier in the tree and its spell effect has been made more transparent.
Desolation: New talent. This talent is in the position formerly occupied by Desecration. It causes Blood Strikes to increase all damage the death knight deals by 1/2/3/4/5% for 12 seconds.
Scourge Strike: Weapon damage bonus reduced to 40%, down from 45%. Damage increased by 10% per disease on the target, down from 11%.
Summon Gargoyle: The gargoyle now flies lower to the ground, making it susceptible to melee attacks. This ability now has a fixed duration of 30 seconds and a fixed cost of 60 runic power.
Unholy Blight: This talent has been redesigned. It no longer deals damage to nearby targets. Instead, when you deal damage with Death Coil, the target will take periodic damage for 10 seconds equal to 20% of the damage done by Death Coil. This damage accumulates in the same way as Ignite and Deep Wounds.
