Gas below $2/gal.

I'm thinking it mighta been nicer to live in the days of the wild west. Yeah, the local wildlife problem would have also included hostile Indians but there wouldn't be any Karens church keying my Rolls.

I get to thinking that sometimes, but then I remember that I'm a real big fan of antibiotics, V8's and autoloaders.

So 1928 is as far back as I would want to go.

Californians could be looking at $10 a gallon gas by next April.
And that's going to spill over to states that relied on those refineries that Newsom has forced closed and is now crying about. I believe that AZ, and NV. are indirectly impacted.

I'm still paying mid $3s needing to use premium but at least the Mrs hasn't bought gas in like 3 years since she's had a Tesla in that time.

I'm willing to give Dementia Don credit for this one. In 2025, gas prices have declined from a national average of $3.04 per gallon overall to $2.96.

Eight fucking cents a gallon.

Sure we had to put up with a rise in inflation and unemployment and creeping fascism as well, but gas prices are down.

DOWN, God Damn It!

Hay now... 1911 was a really good year. Just like 1906.

As for earlier years; I cut my teeth on the butt of a SA 6 shooter, and I know how to ride and drive a team of horses, and kinda sorta know my way around a steam traction engine and a bottom plow or 4. I know how to harvest and preserve food too.

The no antibiotics thing, however, is the deal killer. That don't mean I like today's crazy Karens. It's just that I'd prefer a more quiet life than dealing with them and their friends on a regular basis.

Depending on whether someone puts a bug in their ear, the Feds could buy the Vallejo refinery in the bay because it produces the fuels the military needs. They'd sell the excess into the general market and the State can just go fuck themselves if they believe they can impose any standards on the refinery if the Feds own it.

Beyond that, even Newsom is panicking because he sees his policies causing State residents to understand how fucked up he would be as President and they won't vote for him. Just like how Kamala couldn't win the California primary. His only savior is for someone to buy the Vallejo refinery and for him to give them a pass on the air quality standards.

At this point he won't because of political pressure from his party and the nutballs in the State. That doesn't mean next year's campaign won't change that position.

Why do all California MAGAts constantly whine about the cost of living there while the Dems in California just seem to enjoy their fellow Californians and the weather?

Because Dems in California know THEY are the cause of the cost of living in Calfornia, among some other very major problems and they know everyone else knows too.

2.72 per gallon in MT, my bronado in Oklahoma sent me pic's of his at 2.10/gal just a couple days ago, google says your average is 3 bucks per gallon in ID with lows in the 2.30~ price range . Sounds like you're getting fucked.

Which doesn't change the fact that gas is way down everywhere but blue shit holes which keep piling on taxes and regs and wondering why gas is so fucking insanely priced.
It’s lower in Colorado.

Whatever drives up the price of gas will one way or aother drive up the price of electricity.

Paid $4.29 and 9 yesterday for regular grade dinosaur squeezins.

Which means we here in Coastal Southern California pay approximately twice what everyone else in the country is paying. Blue hell hole State is why.
It's still over $3 a gallon in Idaho, which is a RED hellhole - live in a red hellhole and you trade one set of issues for another. It's not the utopia you might think. Well maybe YOU will like it, "no pesky minorities here, right?" Government constantly strong-arming people out of their personal freedoms, etc." but for everyone else... red state hell, blue state hell, it's still hell.

Gas has always been expensive in California. But they also have real air pollution issues that other states don't have. Anyone remember the yellow haze over Los Angeles in the 1970s? That's not caused by being a "Blue State" or by "Liberals" but by people of ALL political persuasions burning fossil fuels at the same time. Shutting down the refineries? Not a good idea, but they also have health issues there that other states don't have. Cancer rates near Richmond and Vallejo (for example) are off the charts compared to other areas not located near a refinery.

The cost of living is high in CA for the same reason it's high in NY and low in Mexico. It's always higher in rich places. In Japan it's higher still.

When a company takes a billion dollar loss just to leave, you know there is something seriously wrong with the company.
What is wrong in California is regulatory crazy Gyno-Fascists. For instance, the California Coastal Commission, which controls vast amounts of business activity along the 1100 mile coastal zone, has a voting majority composed of far-left females who have zero business experience and hate growth and capitalism. In addition, the upper management of the California Environmental Protection Agency is jammed with 11 out of its 14 seats made up of far-left females who have zero business experience or sympathy for business or economics. This is why Chevron, Phillips 66 in LA, and Valero will be leaving California. It is no longer a business-friendly state. Just so you know, California refineries produce 88 % of Nevada's gasoline and a big share of Arizona's gas supply as well. This is what far-left Democrats in California have done to the West.
