Couple of hundred bucks depending on which one you get.
Why?

I'm worn out on MacBooks.
I've only done 2 towers in the last 2 months.
The towers are awesome.
LTR is pissed at me because Pete has me looking at eight core processors.
What do you have now, Sean?
He's referring to the Intel processor inside your Mac.
Six core AMD 3.2 GHz. I'm looking at an eight core 4.0 GHz. Surprisingly cheap.
You built your own, didn't you?

Is that the FX8? I think I recall Intel said it would be coming out with one soon.
Quite a nice lump of silicone at that price.

Pricey compared to the U.S. cost: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRH...8458&sr=8-1&keywords=AMD+FX8350+Black+Edition
ETA: not that pricey. Thought the fX rate was more.

£35 difference.
Laurel said all GB threads go downhill after eight pages. I'm going to need less civility and more tossing of RAM at each other, please.
I'll wait over here, by my Mac laptop.
I have an HP Pavilion Laptop with Intel Core 2, It runs Windows Vista and hasn't been upgraded with anything since I bought it off the shelf way back in 2008 or whenever. . .
I'm happy with a junker, it only has to run Word, Excel, Photoshop and Autocad. And it doesn't need to do those fast or fancy.
That should explode the geek's and techhead's heads.
