I have never been able to read his last book. After he died I just sat it aside. I haven’t reread his books in years. I think I lost most of them in a flood last year. I may need to start rebuying them for my kindle.

I own almost all of them in physical form, so I felt ok with a quick torrent download - now I have them available on my phone anytime.

Nice same here. I have owned them all at one time. I even felt like the movies they made were good. I can hardly say that about movies adapted from books!

I need to start over and re-read them all. I have my daughter hooked on the Tiffany Aching series. Have you read the Long Earth series? I really enjoyed it.

I read it... I cried... it was honestly one of the celebrity deaths that hit me the hardest... right up there with Gord Downey but that's probably a Canadian thing...

I didn't watch either and I genuinely felt like half the show was lost on me. Which, to me anyway, is a huge failing for a lot of Disney media these days.

*Rant imcoming*

I just want to enjoy a show or a movie without needing to have seen three other movies and two other TV shows oh and you better be playing Fortnite too or you'll miss an important detail. If the callbacks were subtle it would be better, but there are long, pregnant pauses in the story telling where it's obvious they're making a reference I don't get which really hurts the pacing... I like Rosario Dawson and Ray Stevenson so I'll probably finish it but if there's a Jack Black/Lizzo style episode I'm throwing in the towel.

Man, I was so over that when DC did their multiverse shit with crossover episodes in all their shows
I only watched a couple of the shows, so gave up on those as well as I didn't have a fucking clue what was going on anymore.
So instead of them encouraging me to watch more shows, I actually watched less.

I loved the MCU up until End Game and then everything that followed just seemed excessive and unnecessary. I might have watched one show and two movies since and just have absolutely no desire to watch any of it anymore and neither do my kids which says a lot. I'll take Villeneuve's Dune over anything Disney or DC puts out... and not just because I want to support a fellow Québecois.

No. You'll be missing the finer details of some of the backstory, but the broad strokes that drive the story are all presented in the first episode.

My gf has never seen any of the cartoons and she loved it.
 
For you Trekkies...some numbers...
  • Speed of light - 186,000 miles per second, or 0.671 trillion miles per hour
  • Warp 1 = the speed of light
  • Full impulse speed = 0.25 the speed of light
  • 1 parsec = 3.1 light years
  • To calculate warp speed numbers above 1, it is the warp number cubed. So warp 3 = 3X3X3, or 27 times the speed of light.
  • In the Milky Way, the average distance between stars is ~ 4.5 light years. At warp 3, that means it would take 60 days to go from a star to another. That's why they travel at higher warp speeds for longer distances. At warp 6, it would take just over 7.5 days.
 
finally pushed myself to finish RDR2... now into the Epilogue and it's....not the same...

Still good though. I'm ready to restart it ButI also started a modded Skyrim run last week
