The pinkie ring was my Mothers..I claimed that and her owl ornament and plate collections when she died at the young age of 61, some 9 years ago now. I NEVER take it off, I have worn it every day for all of those years, I even kiss the ring at nights. Silly, I know, but it's like I am kissing her goodnight.

awww

what a lovely story

thats so sweet... (and Im being serious.. )

I was just thinking it takes a big man to wear a pinkie ring...

but it takes a big man to remember his mother that well

I never even think about what people might think or say..all I know is that I loved and still do love my Mother. Funny thing, today being the 27th of August, was the day Mum and Dad married. How eerie you should bring the subject up. 52 years ago today, Mum and Dad married...and so did my Dads Mother (my gran) at the same Church. Her husband (My Grandfather) died in the Second World War and she married "Uncle Albert" as he was know, he didn't want to be called Granddad, out of respect. I was born 10 months later!

in this age of mobile families, its wonderful that you remember and care about yours so much

I can relate to the mobile life..I spent 25 years in the British Army, left home at the tender age of 15 years, 3 months and 5 days old...stayed in until I was 40. Yet, my Parents remained in the village where I lived..even ran the village pub. Our house is some 220 years old lol...the Church (opposite the pub) circa 12th Century.

Anyway...enough of me and my family..this is YOUR Thread and you cannot be having much fun with my ramblings lol

oh Im having a great time

I had no idea you were british

quite a tan you have there for a UK boy

I tan fairly easily..a consequence of serving in Cyprus for six months...every afternoon out on the beach (no suntan oils in those days). Plus I have been in CA for some 15 months now..and took advantage of some time off to tan ;)

Impressive none-the-less

I have medium skin, often with a fake bake

The more I look at that little pic, the more I believe your long fingers are not quite covering everything up down there

;)

I was in the Pay Department, spent the last 9 years investigating fraud and malpractise cases. I did 25 years all in all.

I only became a tax advisor over here..studied for the exam whilst in Spain at my sisters house..lazing on the beach, reading and studying...what a life ;)

Thank you for the compliment ;)
