Good Erotic Movies

Caligula is erotic in the same way a twenty car pile up is interesting. You will either love it or hate it, I don't think there is much inbetween.

One movie i found erotic was the old john Wayne movie McClintok. Not the whole move, in fact only one scene, but Maureen O'hara in her corset & stays getting a OTK spanking is hard to forget.

I have peculiar taste when it comes to erotica, so consider yourself forewarned. Many contain little to no sex, and are very wordy with a high pyschological factor.

Yui: If you enjoyed Quills, you might appreciate the foriegn film titled "Sade." I'm just assuming you have already seen "The Secretary."

You have great taste in movies, Helene. :) I have not seen "Sade" but I have put it on my list. Thank you!

It lacks that certain sublime grace of most well done erotica, and might not even be considered erotica, but Sex and Zen is a consistently funny Category III Chinese cult film. The segment with the doctor, the scholar, and the dog makes me laugh now thing about it. It might say so many negative things about me, but I loved it. :D

Y tu mama tambien has wanking, fucking and mucho sensuality. At the end the female lead does a sexy dancing-walk toward the two teenage boys she's traveled with, one of the sexiest scenes on film.

I want to see it sometime. If only for the academic curiosity of finding out how the film manages to sell Maribel Verdu as an "older" woman.
Rumps, she's 'older' to the teenage boys who want her, I don't think she's made out to be much more than late 20s in the film. You'll love it, let me know what you think when you do see it.

Perdita,

That'll work. It's far back in time, but I can still remember when college girls seemed like "older women."

Kinda of reminds me of "The Summer of '42" with Jennifer O'Neill as the older woman.

Rumple Foreskin

Rumps, you've called to mind that Playboy once did a spread on "older" women and I laughed cos they were all in their 30s.

I second the vote on the Malkovich "Dangerous Liaisons." Although I do have an absolutely terrible fetish for period clothing. Malkovich is delicious in that. It's the first thing I ever saw him in, and it made me think him a wonderful actor. Alas, everything since has been a dissapointment, but I can't quite give up on him - for that one movie.

I highly recommend the book as well, btw. Brilliant stuff crammed with the most dangerously fascinating insight into the human animal.

Yeah, but I thought what happened to her at the end was a cop-out, whicj slightly spoilt it for me.

And nobody mixes a better sex/humour coctail than Pedro Almodovar.

But Joe, the clues were there in the very beginning, it was expected and therefore gave reason for her agreeing to go on the trip and remain in 'paradise'.

I adore Almodovar, he gives some of the best imagery to sex I've ever seen on film.

True about the fact that it was set up. But it made it, how shall I put it, a bit gay....

I loved it for the more gritty rural Mexico it showed.

Yes, I agree with some of your choices. But I get frustrated when there's a buildup of sexual tension and no sex. Imagination is a wonderful thing, but there are times when you want not to have to work at it. Show me what happens, dammit!

Wouldn't it be fabulous if some sleazeball Hollywood con artist, prepared to leave the country to avoid prosecution, decided to get rich by turning quality films like "Dangerous Liasons" into hard-core porn - he'd find body doubles for the stars, shoot the sex scenes with sufficient artistry that we wouldn't be too jolted by the unmatched lighting and sets - then edit them in where appropriate. No talking, no attempt to match the music. Just panting.

How many movies would you love to watch made-over that way, with explicit sex to pay off the psychological tension?

I'd pay to find out what goes on when Scarlett is carried upstairs by Rhett and he pays off his line, "Tonight there will only be one man in my bed." Does he really end his affair with Ashley Wilkes? Does he makes Ashley watch? I bet Scarlett gets a spanking.
The King's Mistress A king becomes obsessed with a poor peasant girl. Little sex, but extreme power exchange element.

I'm glad someone else had the courage to list that one. "The Warlord" was sexy too, until I became old enough to think that sex with Charlton Heston would make me laugh.

"Wild Orchid," along with "9 1/2 Weeks" would benefit enormously from an interactive DVD that gave viewers a choice of anonymous male heads to paste over Mickey Roarke's.

Edited to add: Great soundtrack of Brazilian music for "Wild Orchid."

See, that's where I differ, and likely why my stories are so boring. For me, that build up of sexual tension IS the actual climax, not just the foreplay. The tease seems to have more of an effect on me than the physical encounter.

That, and if it is left open-ended, I can dream up my own conclusions whilst errm... soaking in the tub.

Don't get me wrong though... I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing your idea in action (if only to prove I'm not as much of a prude as I just made myself sound.) ;)

Black Shanglan: You should give the original Liasons with Rupert Everett and Catherine Denueve a shot. You would enjoy the wardrobe style and houses even more so. It seems to set more of an atmosphere, and if subtitles aren't your thing, the CD set comes with an English version.

P.S. If you are a Malkovich fan, try on the dark comedy "Being John Malkovich."

Thank you for the recommendation! I will have to have a look for it. I did quite like "Being John Malkovich," although for some reason my favorite part of it was Charlie Sheen's performance as himself.

My favorite part was when they walk into the restaurant full of Malkovichs' and all they can say is "Malkovich, Malkovich." The female versions of him are priceless, and they couldn't have picked a better actor to star in such a warped storyline.

But, I digress...

The Hairdresser's Husband (French title Le Mari de la coiffeuse)

I seem to recall a couple of very erotic scenes.

Has anyone else seen Sex And Lucia or Secretary? Those two movies had some great scenes in them. I had a hard time keeping my hands off my boyfriend.

I also like Swiming Pool, not as erotic though.

If that's your style, you would likely enjoy "In the Cut," Meg Ryan's first attempt at the erotica genre. Jennifer Jason Liegh and the guy from "Shakepeare in Love" also star.

For fans of the extreme, grotessque, and bizzare, Ross from "Friends" debutes his movie making ablities in "Hotel."

I found it boring, but that doesn't mean you will. It has an all star cast but is hard to come by likely because of it's controversial nature (and probably 'cause the actors are embarassed about having their names associated with it.)

Sex, bondage, BDSM, and cannabilism. Crash and Caligula fans might want to give it a try.

What a brilliant movie. I've never heard a theater audience laugh so hard that most of us missed half of the dialogue. I guess the subject-matter (and the opening puppet show) made the movie self-selecting for an audience that could appreciate it.

Has there ever been a funnier moment of dark comedy than the scene where Cameron Diaz is simultaneously stirring the spaghetti sauce and taking care of her sick iguana while the dog at her feet is being asssaulted by the diaper-wearing chimpanzee, with an enraged parrot screeching nearby...and she asks her husband, "Have you thought anymore about our having a baby?"

:D

My eyes water.

Thanks, Sincerely H. I needed a good laugh. It's time to watch the DVD again.

He also gets physical with Maureen in The Quiet Man as well. No spanky but a rather rough toss into the sack as I recall.

Yes, there was something charming and extra-sad about a man who has to seek romantic advice from Charlie Sheen.

"Hot lesbian witches?!"

So no one has seen The Pillow Book? I ask because I'm a non-renter (a non-returner eventually has to swear off renting) so when I see a movie that isn't in the theaters and isn't owned by a friend, I have to buy it. I hate committing to one that's billed as erotica if none of you pornsters have seen it.

Two or three folks at the beginning of the thread had seen it. I think Carson & RGraham and maybe Yui?

I dunno. I need to go to bed. (pray for sleep...)
