greek mythology

My vision of dryads is that they are tree spirits. I've drawn a dryad as a tree with a woman's head sticking out of it.

*taking a bow*

Thank you! I try to be careful with foreign words/names, and make sure I don't spell them the wrong way. I've impressed a lot of Arabian/Persian/Kurdish immigrants that way.

Davoud Saeid: "How did you know that's how I spell my name?"
Me: "Is there any other way to spell it?"

:D

"Is there any other way to spell it?"

In the western alphabet, there is. I've seen it spelled Said and Saeed. However, in the Arabic alphabet, it's just one way. My first husband's name was spelled about three different ways in Texas, but in Iran, there was only one.

True, true. I was just boasting - both to him and to everyone in here.

I pay very close attention to the spelling of Arabic names, because I know how irritating it is when someone will spell your name wrong. I usually try to see how they themselves spell their name, and then I try to remember it for future eventualities.

So how about Artemis and Athena competing for the same human woman? You could even throw in Aphrodite (I bet she swings both ways) and make it a lesbian "Judgment of Paris" scene.

One of the hottest scenes that Rita Mae Brown ever wrote was this scene where the heroine got hit by lightning and found herself in Olympus, making it with Hermes...and while he was fucking her, Aphrodite grew a cock and fucked him. The book? Venus Envy, of course.

I would LOVE to see what position they used..!

THAT is an intriguing aspect of centaurs.......horses too for that matter.
an erect stallion does have a remarkable resemblance to a human erection except in size. Then there is the issue of human centaur/centaurette...."interaction"
definately material to ponder.
which i am pondering right now.

hmmmm (ponder, ponder...oh be do..who wrote the book of myths?)

I remember this comic strip, where a naked woman and her mare were both drinking water from the same river, and behind them, there was a male centaur, flipping a coin...:D

That is a great idea. Athena definitely had some lesbian tendencies.

I believe I have seen that as well.
some of the old Playboy magazines had comics like that...I used to have my father's collection..but I dismembered them for the Brad Holland illustrations.

The Artist who did the comics that I am thinking of did quite a few on the Satyr, nymph, centaur theme. I'll have to look him up.

You're not talking about Jonathon Earl Bowser, are you? He makes some really nice paintings! Or perhaps you were thinking of Boris Vallejo?

(His wife, Julie Bell, is also a great artist - she's a genius when it comes to painting metal!!!)

centaurs, nymphs and satyrs

:p
