Group Sex question

No... and yes... :cathappy:

There's lots of threesomes in Group Sex (mostly because people like to avoid Loving Wives like the plague. Also group sex with more than three people can get quite complicated and difficult to write. Can be done... but it's not easy to do well.)

And yes, me, the redhead. ;)
I read on a How to Write Porn Blog, way back, and since dissapeared, that porn focuses on single acts, and that the story - I'm paraphrasing, but I think it went, "porn is about Two people fucking, that's the story - as soon as you have Two other people fucking, you don't have a story anymore, you have two stories".

Thus, you can expand this to Three or even four, or a gangbang, but as soon as you have more than one sexual act going on, you have another story.

i.e., if you can juggle more than one act and make it work, that's good, rules were made to be broken, but I think you have to know the rules to break them, the danger here being that an full blown orgy story might tend to lose focus and just drift all over the place, which again, could be good or bad depending on how you handle it.

I think if I did it, I'd focus on one person, in a series of encounters. Otherwise, you're writing a novel, i.e., multiple plot lines, etc.

That doesn't make any sense to me at all. That is like saying that having two characters needs two stories. There is no logic there at all...

I agree. I have written quite a few group sex stories, and the minimum is three participants. That is actually included in the description. I have one with seven people, and a celeb story with seven. I lost count of how many were included in the two part story about Mrs. Claus.

I only classify something as group if nothing else fits. It's not a very popular category, judging by views, etc. on the smut I have written.

They obviously weren't thinking about double penetration and whatnot.

Though, I agree that it's hard work to make a group story intimate and cohesive. But, that challenge is always what brings me back to writing it every time. Anybody can write the in's and out's of a group scene, but not everyone can make it interesting or tell the story of what brought the characters to this point. The "why" is always hotter than the "how". ;)

When I write a group sex scene (I don't think I have published any, but I have written them), I like to focus on one or two of the characters, and everyone else is just an extra hand or ten helping pleasure those couple of central characters.

I think the point is, if you're writing about one sexual encounter, and you cut to a different one, you now have two different stories going at once.

Point being, I guess, that a threesome is one story, but I guess when I think of group sex, I usally think orgy, which is multiple stories.

The rule I think is that sexual encounters should be dealt with one at a time, and taken to their logical conclusion before you start another. It's probobly a theory based largely on male sexual response and appealing to.

Of course, it is porn, so, whatever works, works.

With a fairly large group, you are going to do some switching back and forth between different sex acts, but you can also have one person taking on three or four or even five. Five is probably the maximum though. Of course, as soon as one couple finishes, they change partners.
