Stepping boldly in front of Don Diego, Kitty places both hands on her hips and glares at the drunk and dirty ranch hand who seems bent on causing trouble.
I've warned you before about comin into my place dirty and smellin like cheap whiskey and a horse barn Cowboy. If you don't leave now, and get yourself cleaned up and presentable, you'll never set foot in the Long Branch again! I'll not have my girls pawed at by men with no manners who start a brawl everytime they come in.
Kittys' burst of temper were legendary, not so much for their ferocity, but for the cosequences to her appearance. Poised as she was and emphasizing each sentence with a stamp of her foot drew the eyes of her combatant squarely to the creamy mounds above her bodice. Even strong men were quickly mersmerized by the sight. The ranch hand was no exception.
"Miz Kitty...ya cain't mean it!! I didn't mean nuthin by it...I waz just funnin him...I didn't mean no harm..."
The prospect of permanent ejection from Kitty and her girls was usually enough treat to straighten things out, and this was no exception. The cowboy seemed sincere and looked at Don Diego as if hoping for support.
"I'm sorry I ran inta ya Mister....No hard feelins?"
Don Diego, it turned out was not only handsome and genteel, he was also wise. He gave a curt nod.
"Think nothing of it, my friend. No harm done."
Well, thats just fine, then. Now, you go on over to the bath house and get yourself cleaned up, then when you get back I'll have one of the girls bring you over a nice glass of good whiskey.
Kittys beaming smile and the prospect of a free drink and female company were all the incentive the cowboy needed and he quickly turned and left.
The people gathered nearest let out a collective sigh.
Sam, a round of the good stuff, if you please. Don Diego, thank you. It's not every man who will see that there is some more strenght in avoiding the fight than winning it.
I'm sure you would have won, but I'm glad we didn't have to witness it. Blood makes such a mess of the bar you know.
Now, about your young lady. I belive that Doc is right, you'll find her at Pearls place at the end of the street. Better drink up before you go, if she's there I doubt you'll like what you find.
