Norelco body Groomer is at Target for about $35. It works great although you may nick yourself if you are not careful.

I wanted to chime in that in my experience, I'm just as happy if a guy is trimmed than if he's shaved. If you trim carefully, there shouldn't be any nastiness...

For shaving you might check into a product called "Bump Remover" which might help with some of the after-shaving ugliness and irritation. I'm not even so concerend about cutting myself as with the regrowth being ugly and stiff.

Try shaving a tiny place first, to make sure you don't have any adverse effects - allergies to your shaving cream, irritation from the razor, etc.

For best results use a brand new blade each time you shave.

Just go for it...

The scrotum is the easiest thing to shave ever... it will surprise you. And it feels so nice...

I would trim with something before you start shaving the rest of your hair, though. I have a bodygroom - not incredibly impressed, but would be good if I was more trimmed rather than shaved. It has three different attachments so you can decide how long you want your hair to be., Trim it all up and then maybe shave some to clean it even more. I started with shaving my actual penis and the area around the base. Now I basically have a square type shape going on which I shave every other day or so. The girl loves it!

The genitals themselves aren't really all that difficult to shave and are pretty resiliant. It's shaving in the area around the genitals that I think most people experience problems. That skin is sensitive and not accustomed to that kind of abrasion.

I recommend sitting in a warm bath for five or ten minutes before shaving. It plumps up the skin so the hair is easier to remove and it somewhat smooths the skin to help reduce razor burn.

Use fresh razors. Dull or clogged razors cause a lot more irritation so don't be afraid to grab a new one.

If you shave above or around your genitals try to shave in the direction of the hair and not against it.

Soaking in the tub for a few minutes after a shave is nice on the skin too.

Use some good, alcohol/fragrance free lotion afterward. And if you get razor burn, acne cream can help.

I've been shaving for years and wouldn't ever want to go back to natural. :)

I shave and so far no bad cuts just the usual small ones that come time to time. I shave about every 2 days I use a normal razor 2 blade with the comfort strip, and I also use warm shaving cream from a of course a shaving cream warmer? Not really sure if that makes the difference or not. I also do shave under and around my balls like the others said it seems to be the easiest area to do.

I only trim...never shave. I did that once for chest hair but almost died over the next several days sa it grew back in...the spikey itch of new hairs drove me crazy....I use a #2 attachment to the electric shaver. This makes it about the lenght of a Don Johson beard...but not spikey. I finally trimed the lower regions and was pleasantly surprized with the result.

Prior to the snip snip "vasectomy", I started shaving the family jewels.

Started with the Gillette Mach 3. I currently use the Gillette Fusion. Never a nick or cut. Use the uncented Oil of Olay soap. Very inexpencive and will leave you Smooooooother than a babys bottom.

The nurse commented she had never seen them so clean and smooth. The best prep she had ever seen. (True story)

 While I have used clippers with no attachments to easily shave pubes, the rest feels SOOOOO risky. Close clippers on my dick and balls always cause minor bleeding, but a cold blade BOUNCING along and gouging my shaft is horrifying! The furrows and elusive skin on my scrotum hate blades too. I never got past two swipes and two bleeders there!

At least I can see most of what I'm doing there whenever I get brave or forget the last experience! How does ONE guy remove anal hair? I can't see the area and don't have enough hands to hold a mirror, stretch my skin and shave. That's the only hair on my body I HATE. So how do I get rid of it safely? Is there a safe cream that won't be a problem when it gets inside an anus?

I wonder if one of those nose hair trimer might do the job? Of course it would have to be dedicated to that job alone.

I don't know if you would consider waxing as an option. I know more men are having it done in various places. I get a bikini wax and my technician shares much insight about her services. She did tell me that this part of the body can also be "attended to". I'm not interested in it (not for myself) so can't speak to the discomfort, but I will share that I don't find the bikini waxing to be painful in the least. Of course I do have a pretty high tolerance to pain.

Good luck if you elect this option.

The body groom by far is great, but have found that using that to do the long hair, then taking a hot towel and just softing the brissel helps, then going over it with a good lubricating gell shave cream, and a NEW blade works wonders, sometimes you might even take a second blade or reshave after washing to make sure you get it all, just take your time. The more you shave, the tougher the skin gets and you got to keep it up every other day to stay ahead of it.

Or better yet, do your girlfriend, and let her do you, then you get all the parts done, and you don't have to play twister to get all those parts, and you both can enjoy it!!!!

DONOT,repeat DO NOT use Old Spice on you newly shaved balls. Go ahead, ask me how I know. ( a memorable experience indeed)

Be very careful. Yo could develop razor bumps on your genitalia, which curtails any sexual enjoyment for weeks.

About the only problem I have had when I shaved was an ingrown hair 2 different times. But I fixed those with no problem. I've at times thought about getting waxed or buying a waxing kit but so far havent.

Old Spice, only thing I can say to that is, hmmm, sink still on the wall. LMAO Learn quick don't you as far as that goes.

There is in the mature section on the Ebay board, some one selling a dry power you mix with water and put it on as a paste. Some say it's the best no bumps or rash.

re

For the stem and scrotum, its also a lot easier if you're aroused while shaving. I only trim the above areas, way better than having to maintain the stubble you get after a few days of growth.

Be careful down there!

I shave from time to time. I use a beard trimmer that I have no other use for (the beard went years ago) - just remember to take it steady, this is not a sheep shearing contest.

The scrotum is more difficult: it isn't solid, is quite tender and more folds of skin than a wrinkled prune. This is where I managed to draw blood on one occasion. Done properly though, the finished result is like velvet.

When it starts to grow back, be prepared for an itchy phase.

Are you removing your hair for the benefit of a girlfriend/significant other?

If so, perhaps you two should invest in materials to do waxing.

Lots of women get waxed to remove all the hair from their mons to their anus. (I think they call it a Brazilian wax.) And, many say if it's done properly, it is not painful - well, not that painful.

So, if your S/O wants you to be smooth, they shouldn't mind giving you a bit of help, right?

Been shaving using various razors for over 10 years. Never really had a problem. I sometimes use a trimmer first and then use the razor for a no-bump feel, and usualy shave under the shower. The warm water softens the hair and skin so helps ensure there are no cuts.

My partner (male) and I use something called "Magic shaving powder". It's a depilatory powder (it's actually meant for black men to use on their face and necks, because they are prone to ingrown hairs from shaving). Just mix it with water, apply it liberally, and wash it off.

Anyway, it gets things alot smoother than shaving does, doesn't irritate the skin, and you dont run the risk of cutting something important.

Stuff can be found in most pharmacy type places.
