Had my cat spayed

I'm on my third tuxedo cat - two boys and one girl. I've always been a big fan of Siamese cats but I'm concluding that tuxies are every bit as good/satisfactory in a different way, and maybe even a bit better.

They always seem to be no more than half a step back to feral. They are oral, and they can be nibblers. Calling them biters is a bit harsh. It's a Kitty Kiss . . . with teeth. Get used to it and don't be a pussy. You are being marked and possessed. Mine also likes a good swat on the ass and to be rough-housed, too. He'll act scared and get up and run. One step. And then turn to see if I'm still playing. We play Soft White Underbelly. He loves it. But there was that one time where the ex-roomie managed to let him out, and he freaked and it took a week to get him back in. It was like nothing had happened when he finally got back in the house. He's also talkative.

My girl tuxie, rest her gorgeous soul, was full throttle. I also had a tortoise-shell, rest her soul, at the same time, and they were playmates. Racing through the house, running into everything, and banging the tortie's head on the floor or doorjambs was regular stuff. The tuxie was sweet and personable, but because she had a Live Stuffed Cat to play with, we didn't bond as closely as we might have. She appeared on a job one day as a kitten and applied for a home, so I took her up on it. Never regretted it for a second. My first tuxie did the same thing. I miss them both and remember them fondly.

A friend is blessed with a new tuxie girl this year, so she's been posting The Kitten Diaries on her social media all summer. Her's is a licker, a biter, and a talker, too. Her old cat hates her, and the kitten stalks her. The pics are a riot and the narratives quite entertaining.

So, get used to her, or put her in a crate and ship her here. I have room for more tuxedo goodness, always.

All three of mine were biters as kittens, none of them bite now. It's natural. Don't spray her. Don't. You'll make her wicked and wary of you. Cats don't like that kinda shit, and they bear a grudge unlike a dog.

She's a baby, she'll grow out of it. Just give her lots of love and plenty of toys to bite and kick the shit out of. She'll be fine petal. Neutering tends to calm males down more than girls in my experience.

Grudge. Ha ha. I've noticed she's a bit of a bitch LOL. But I love her.

Yeah, I'll do that instead. I don't like the thought of spraying her TBH. I tell her no when she's naughty and I point my finger like this 👆:D. When she's really naughty I put her in the laundry room for time out.

Thanks love

If she's got any Siberian tiger in her be very careful, they hold grudges and seek vengeance. You might wake up in the night and she'll have the hosepipe on you.

She's adorable - good on you for taking her in. She'll settle down - she's still a kitten, and attacking is really 'playing' for them, and also learning how to be a cat. Just be firm with her. I think ferals have a special kind of love for the people who rescue them. (I once had a cat that literally brought a feral kitten home with him one dark and stormy night - true story. Once I tamed him, he was the happiest cat ever.)
I in bed typing this, with my enormous tabby curled up next to me. He was a rescue cat, and is the best company. I pretty much always have to have a cat, and especially now that I live alone most of the time. They cost a fortune, they kill things randomly, they leave hair everywhere, but they're the best thing ever.
I think you are cat people now. :)

Devil Cat will own you. Devil Cat will tear your stuff up, scare away your loved ones, and lick your toothbrush.

Get out while you still can.

To be clear, we never sprayed any of ours with water for biting, only for jumping on the counter, climbing Xmas tree or stuff like that.

I miss being a cat people, but I think the little mutt would not be god with cats.

Kittens are careless with their claws. Feral cats/kittens will bite a lot when playing too.

Time will make changes in her behavior as she grows and settles in. The cat laser toy is a good way to tucker them out. They can get "addicted" to it though.

I don't think water will hurt her but I imagine it would be very, very unpleasant. This, I know. Often, she watches me shower and occasionally she will try to join me, only to find her utter disdain for water on her paws makes it impossible. It's like me and the dick. Just no. I cannot. I imagine being subjected to penis every time I bit someone. How horrible.

We played a lot this morning after breakfast. She's sleeping now. I've worn her out.

Thank you everyone.

6 months.

She was a stray. Fleas and worms. She was dumped in a park and left. We took her into our home a few months ago. She was an outside cat, but now she's mostly an inside cat. She's been chipped and vaccinated as well. Haven't registered yet but it's coming.

Thing is, she's a bit wild. She often bites and attacks. A lot. I tell her no when she attacks me. I bought her toys and a water fountain. New feeder. A ball game. A tower. Some fluffy toys. She bit Simba's tail off.

She was desexed the other day and the vet said it may calm her down a bit. It didn't LOL. She likes my attention.

I think she just likes to hunt. Any tips or advice? My first cat. I've had some help from the council. They sent me some reading material. Codes for discounts on treatment etc., but not much about behaviour.

Hubby brought a young female home that had been a Walmart cat for several months. Someone had thrown her out of a car and drove off. She was very standoffish even to the point of hiding behind a desk drawer for a couple of days. She'd come out to eat and use the litter box when we were out of the room.

Flash forward about 3 months I guess. We're sitting on the couch one night after she'd gotten more friendly and was laying beside him. Suddenly she howled the loudest I'd ever heard from a cat. Turns out she was pregnant. By 6am we had 4 more kittens.

And I know what the one poster said about the skiddishness is true. To this day, 4 years later, when a cola can is opened, she jumps and runs. We're thinking the asshole that threw her out must have thrown cans at her as a kitten. They never forget.

I've noticed she is a bit jumpy. Fucking assholes. She gets little frights and I know her heart is racing. Lots of cuddles and pets and love.

I'll learn about cats, you fuckers. You just watch me. Soon Laurel will have to change my name to thecatwhisperer

Quite a few people talked about rescue cats.

But come to think of it, they really aren't.
A cat can well survive on it's own in a city, threre are plenty of birds / mice / critters out there.
A dog can't, and it's much more likely to be caught & put down & run over.

Feral cats and dogs are picked up and a lot of the time they're put down, so yes, they really are rescues.

Do you have a drug, drinking problem?

There are more horses living on this planet than cows.

Yet the treehuggers aren't saying a thing about eliminating all those horses and their farts.

There are many more cats and dogs living on this planet than cows and horses.

Yet selfish girlsmelly now entreats to be responsible for even more cat farts that are sure to threaten our climate even further.

Selfish girlsmelly is a direct threat to civilization.

Not saying selfish girlsmelly should be euthanized.

But her smelly new cat and all other smelly cats should be euthanized to save our planet from their farts.

YOU, can be replaced with CGI. Which will save us from your farts. :)

Interesting.

Apparently there are 9.5 million horses in America.

I'll go one up. There are 74 million sheep in Australia.

ETA: 15 mil in Western Australia

Didn’t read everything so...

Deballing the pup didn’t tone down the behavior like I’d hoped so he’s on Prozac to decrease reactivity and I’m being more mindful about things so as to avoid problems.

A friends dog was on Buspar after he was resource guarding an orange among other things.

Another friend declawed their indoor cat but it was still startling when he pounced out from under the coffee table and batted the crap out of your ankles.
