Haiku

what did the elves do
while the dwarves went barreling?
they feasted on flesh...

The oak’s smokiness
Enhances the grape’s flavour
Drawn out of the wood.

the river maid's song
echoes still in mirkwood's vales
with spiders on strings

in a greener time
when the world was young and new
sun shone through the trees

fair Goldberry's song
washed through the wood, like rivers
running wide in spring

her melody flowed
throughout the sun-dappled wood
before spiders came

from east, a shadow,
growing, searching for the ring,
swallowed up the land

in shadows and gloom,
spiders crept 'neath canopy
through the murky wood

(I know, I know. I cheated.)

Beautiful...

fair galadriel
sees all but her own beauty
in her mirror's gaze

Remember her well.
The universe claims us all,
But many live on.
