Haiku

Bubbles in the muck.
Thick white, sweet... Gushing mouthward.
Does a body good.

Whisper-silent. Tense.
So sleek, the curve of the bow.
Arrow is the best.

Autumn walk, sore feet.
Home beckons. Now all is well.
Hot steam from the tea.

Cause? Effect? To wit:
No matter where it comes from,
Steam is OF the tea.

Hot drink, cold morning:
Out the window all is grey.
Today, it's coffee.

Succulent red flesh.
Charred crust, juices oozing forth.
Tri-tip tastes so good.

Dark, sweetly quaking,
Savory gelid goodness.
Gravy, the next day.

Winter shroud, new snow.
The plows leave dark stripes behind.
A black-and-white world.

Unraveling thread.
New life dwindles; old is stale.
None will post haikus.

Halved life for kids now.
Carefree past happinesses...
Now, each breath matters.

Crooked nosed, toothless,
Shod in slivered silver blades:
Hockey season starts!
