Spenser .....I know what you mean about the heat wave....it is the same hear...about 30 to 45 minutes from you......WE NEED RAIN....bad......Hope your keeping cool....I am but damn the electric bill will be out of side....the things we have to do to keep cool..... Well have a fabulous weekend!!!​

Talk about trying to stay cool, I got a ICEE. Hadn't one of those in years. Got the largest one they had. It was 102 before it got cloudy here. But I came might close to pouring it all over me it was so hot.

So.... what are some of the way you are keeping cool Mary? Anyone else want to share. One thing I do is jump into a COLD shower... it feel so good... but then you get out and your hot again... so it only lasts a few minutes.

Anyone else want to share how they keep cool?

Morning Sunshine! One way to stay cool is to take a hand towel, wet it , hang it over the back of your neck. When I cleaned windows they would get so hot it felt 200 degrees so me and my girls all had our towels. When at home I stick my feet in cold water. As long as my feet are cool so am i.

Lance... Where have you been.. I have missed you. I hope you come visit me soon.

Living here in south Florida, I am hot most of the time, so I have learned a few things...

1) Get a spray bottle that mists.. fill it will ice water and mist yourself periodically.. If you are sitting in front of a fan, it works even better..

2) Like EW said, wet towels around the neck.. but also put an ice cube in a snack size ziplock bag and slide it up and down your arm from wrist to the inside of your elbow.. You cool the blood that runs there and it helps cool your body off.

3) Also like EW said.. keeping your feet in cold water.. Always a big help.

I have little battery operated fans.. after losing power from Hurricanes Francis and Jeanne, and having no ice or cold drinks available.. I made sure I got a bunch of them.

I even have them in my car.. that has no a/c at the moment..it went on vacation. but I am doing something about that over the next few days... Fat woman + no a/c= the recipe for heat rash..
