Here is an update. Things are a mess down there. Going to meet with the people who manage apts on Monday. Been trying to talk her into at least consider it. She is fighting it. She can not stay by herself any more and her health is not the best. She can not afford to take care of the place and it is not worth much either.
But something has to be done, and no one in the family seems like they care willing to deal with it, so I am going to have to.
I knew this was going to be difficult and it has been proven to be true. Will not be on much but am thinking of everyone.

They may know of someone who can help her, maybe they have a pairing program.. Someone who needs a place to stay in exchange for helping your mother.. Also, if there is a college close by that has a social service program or nursing program.. maybe there is a student in need of a room that will exchange helping your mother for room and board..

Those are some great ideas. My mom is not a church going woman, but I went to my old church and they gave me as much help as they could. I have a woman from my old church who is a nurse that comes by and check on her. The problem is not getting someone to live with my mom, the problem is the house is in a very bad neighborhood and the house is in much need of major repairs that she can not afford, nor can I or my brothers. And the fact is that my mom really does not need to be alone as she can not remember her meds or take care of her books, which I am going to have to take over, nor can she no longer drive. She needs full time caretaker and we can not afford that.
This apt place that we are looking into, has staff on hand all the time, it gives her fellowship of other seniors that she so desperately needs as she just sits at home and watches tv in the dark.
I do thank everyone for their suggestions and they are great ideas. But with what we are dealing with, the only thing that will work are these apts or living assisted place.
I am meeting with people today about it and just hope all works out.

OK folks. Saw the retirement center and it was awesome. Very very nice and works with her budget. The main thing was to get her come and see it. After talking with her tonight, she has agreed to at least go and look. I am hoping she will like it. If she does that we have a plan. Only thing is, there is a 5-6 month waiting list. But at least we have a plan.
I will let you know how it goes.

Good news. She has agreed to it. Now we have the paper work to fill out and get her on a 6 month waiting list. But I am also having to deal with other issues.
I am going to get power of attny and take over her financial issues which things are very messed up. And while I was doing all this, my car was hit by someone in the parking lot and am looking at $380 worth of repairs and my front brakes went out and I had to pay $130 to fix them.
Lord this trip has been very expensive as well as very stressful. Man do I need a break....

Hey everyone! We just got out of our care conference a short time ago. They said that Daneil had been accepted to Pate Rehabilitation but cannot get in there until next Tues. But since he has been accepted they are releasing him from here on Fri. We are supposed to tour it on Fri. so they are releasing him earlier than usual so he can tour it also. They will pick him up in the morning and then return him home that afternoon. He will be there from 9-3:30 M-f. It is going to be alot like school and is geared to getting him back in school as quickly as possible. Thanks for a the thoughts, prayers, etc.. during these past 3 months. We do not know how long he will be at PAte. But things are definitely looking alot brighter. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel. He is so excited about going home. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts and again THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

But the work is just beginning as I begin to do the paper work to get her in the center and start calling all the creditors and bill collectors and all the others to get them to back off and let me work something out with them.
