We always watch on Monday nights when they have a new line up. I'm mainly into Monster House and Garage..and hubby likes those, but he really loves OCC guys the best (I can't stand em..they get on my nerves)

Yeah, we have several of their channels...but the main one is the one we watch the most.

I read Jaws when I was 13. It's what started my obsession with sharks. And not the part where the shark is chassing them..because sharks do NOT behave that way..that is ALL fiction. But because of the size of the shark. In the book, it's like 25 to 30 feet long..in the movie, I think it's like 20 feet. I remember taking a tape measure and figuring out how big exactly that is. Let's just say it scared the shit out of me.
Then I started watching shark week, and I came to love how beautiful and graceful they look underwater..and I just started learning more and more about them. One of my biggest dreams I'd like to do someday is work with sharks...maybe on a boat taking info down about them..or out on the waters trying to stop poachers or educate fisherman (there are some that take the fisherman out and let them catch them..in a SAFE way, and then they tag them and get the info and release them back in the waters..would love to be involved with that) Sharks are NOT man eaters, they're not "evil"...they can't help it that they're eating machines and we decide to swim in their world!

My buddy goes shark fishing sometimes, last year he fought a 5 foot thresher for a few hours before bringing it up to the boat for a few pix. Then just cut the line because nobody wanted to try and unhook him!

Yup sharks are relatively peaceful creatures, just got a bad rap sometimes but probably no worse for attacks than other creatures. they just get teh publicity more

I can't stand when people hunt for sport
now..if you want to hunt for food, for the pelt to keep warm..if you're going to be like the Native Americans were and use every inch of that animal, then fine. But stay away from the endangered species, don't over do it, and don't do it for sport..for a trophey.

Like with deer...they are so overpopulated here...I have no problem with the hunting season we have for them. But tons of boats out on the ocean hauling up thousands of sharks a day to cut off their fins and throw them back in the water to die a slow, horrible, painful death..and for what? shark fin soup..which is so expensive and people say tastes like shit anyway....no, I can't tolerate that. And I can't tolerate hoisting a shark up just to mount it on a wall or cut it's jaws out as a trophy. They are in our oceans for a reason...they keep the seal population down. It's the nature of things..people need to be better educated on it. And sharks don't "go after" humans (well, except for the tiger, or was it bull? shark in the 1800's that Jaws was based after.) I remember on show during a shark week were they had a helicopter flying over the ocean and there were two people out there, and all around them were like 50 great whites...and the sharks were not going near the humans. (You should see the new ads for shark week..they're pretty cool )
