Harriet Tubman Will Replace Andrew Jackson on the $20

Huh.

A black woman who helped liberate slaves during the Civil War era was a Republican who carried a gun?

Shocking.

And don't forget:

...revered God and, thus, most likely considered abortion for convenience the murder it is and judged homosexuality as the abomination her God says it is.

Fact is, if Harriet Tubman was alive today and speaking her mind, GB progressives would be crucifying her, too.

Must be nice totally, gnostically, eternally ensconed within that wannabe cloud of I don't fart / I'm not a hypocrite crap.

Waiting to read all the wannabes now need so gnostically insist...

Yeah, but,Tubman would've been a Democrat/liberal/progressive today...

It's impossible to make said judgement.

Her spirit is definitely with those groups though.

It's also telling that you have to go back 150 years to find a time when the Republican platform wasn't an abomination.

Your act is as tired as your politics.

this is simple ... waste of money

but those in government don't give a shit about that because they don't earn money as government employees rape tax payers

The trope us as bullshit as Zumi's insistamce that White privelege accounts for failure in the black community.

Yeeesh. What an intersectional mess this is. I'm impressed that you've only mentioned me once in this fail as opposed to ten times and/or over, but do yourself a favor and eat a nutritional lunch before you attempt this again, buddy. :)

Maybe they should put Prince on the 20.

And use purple stock.

It's just unfathomable.

I do not buy the whole " I went to school in the south" bit as an explanation of ignorance.

Unless they are much older than I am, I changed schools all across the south and southwest and learned about her several times with no bias.

She wasn't much more than a paragraph or two in any school in any location. But honestly there is just not that much to say. She escaped Slavery, made a lot of trips back to save more, and worked for the union as a nurse and spy during the civil war.

Pochahantis would have me cooler. Or Sacajawea.

You said it's impossible (despite knowing what was common in societal mores of the time) then go on to include her "spirit" in the goals of those groups today?

Caesar Chaves? Sure. Harriet Tubman? I wouldn't be so sure. I realize Democrats "own" the "black vote," but I think it a stretch to suggest she helped slaves escape in hopes their decendants woud become wards of the state in large, Democratic Party run failed inner cities.

Yet another thinly disguised "Welfare Queen" post from Queerbait.

Knowing what societal mores of the time is kind of pointless. If she were alive today she would have lived through the interim. There is no denying that she was a radical liberal at the time however.

Racist smeer aside.

Would you suggest that Robert Lee fought for the south so they could live in a failed region? I mean completely outright, the inner city is largely something that was done TO blacks. The South is just what happens when conservatives are allowed free reign for their terrible plans.

And those cities are still successes on the whole.

Let's just keep dead Presidents on our money and forget the rest.

The way the future looks not many Americans will have any $20's left and they'll barely buy a loaf of day old white bread.

Shall we remove Franklin, then?

The only people , if any at all deserving to be on the money are founders. If were going to open up the money to other people who contributed historically, then How about George Washington Carver? Frederick Douglas? Abigail Adams? Margaret Sanger? Harriet Beecher Stowe

Why not. I don't want Margaret Sanger and I don't know off hand who Harriet Beecher is but I have no problem with the rest of that list.

Are. Younger Americans are. If we insist on insulting my intelligence I insist on being insulted with proper grammar or not at all.

Sanger for sure would be controversial but you can't deny her impact on America.

Beecher Stowe was an abolitionist and wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin, which basically introduced all of America to life as a slave through literature.

A lot of the arguments against Tubman being on the $20 sound like political correctness.

Welcome to the "dark side", hypocrites. ;)
