That would be the dine and dash and we hate people that do it, it's not funny, it's not a cute little stunt. In most places that comes directly out of the server or bartenders pocket- leaving them having worked hard all day for nothing AND having to pay taxes on it.
Thankfully, now, they prosecute for as little as $20.
I waited tables for years while I got my degree and now tend bar for a friend a couple nights a month, it's really not cool to screw with people like that.
