No idea sweetie...I'm always stuck with the damn description field myself....I never know what to put here and I always end up asking my husband for help.
Well damn. :(

Can I throw some ideas out and you'll pick one?

I've only seen the movie and read the book. I loved the books a bunch. The movie was better than expected, but there was no chance for it to even get close to the books.

We haven't seen the movie yet ... have the DVD, but haven't had a chance to watch it. I was a bit worried about being disappointed with it. But I'll take you at your word that its better than expected (if you are wrong, I will never forgive you). The radio play and tv series were British productions (the tv series had special effects at the level of Dr Who ... which made it so enjoyable to watch) and both really did a great job translating the story into other mediums.

You can PM me a synopsis ... maybe I'll be hit with a bolt of creativity and come up with something for you.

Don't watch the movie!!! Please don't! We watched it...and let me assure you that my husband wanted to kick himself for letting me watch it before understanding what the Hitchhiker's craze is all about. Now I SURE don't want to understand it. The movie is, according to my husband, so bad and idiotic that it's an insult to Hitchhiker's

Argh. Don't hold me to that!

It was rather different, I liked that about it. They did change quite a lot of stuff and interpreted some quite freely, which put me off for a while, but I still thought "hey, that was pretty good!" when I walked out of the theater.

Wow, that's sure a very different opinion than I have :D

I would agree though not to watch the movie before reading the book. It's a nice supplement, but it just wouldn't make sense to anyone without the books.

Keep in mind that my husband is Brit, Jen. So, he heard the radio play, and saw the tv series when it came out or not much later. So, for him the movie was a bad, bad, bad interpretation of the true spirit of Hitchhiker's.

As for me, I have no opinion, apart than to say I thought the movie was stupid but it's only my personal taste and most of what people consider funny I think it's stupid so don't let my personal taste get in the way.

Hmmm, two dissenters ... this doesn't bode well.

I'm usually pretty lenient about bad movies, although my patience does seem to be getting a little thinner in recent years. In our house we have a benchmark movie to judge all other movies by. For awhile it was The Postman (Dances With Postage) ... which equated three and half hours of our lives that we would never get back. That was replaced by Wing Commander (don't ask ... it was a rainy Sunday) which starred Freddy Prinze Jr and contained no Wing Commanders (don't ask ... it was a rainy Sunday).

What I am asking you, in all seriousness, is Hitchhikers likely to be worse than Wing Commander? (Please note, Catwoman and Fantastic Four nearly replaced Wing Commander ... but it's held on to its spot)

IMHO it is...but don't hold me to that. As I said, I have very different taste from anyone.

Well, so far, all the ideas I have are

A second encounter in the art room

or

A good luck charm for Seth (I don't even know if that one really makes sense)

In my opinion, both are kind of stupid  Hence the cry for help.

Hey it's not stupid...I like the "good luck charm for Seth"...have to say that I get it because I read the story though...not sure lots of people would before reading it :(

Hmm, well, do they need to get it? I mean, I usually consider the descriptions just as a tool for catching someone's attention. They don't need to get what it means, right?

Ahh, I don't know.

You're right....they don't need to get it. :)

Stick with "good luck charm for Seth"

If they've read the first one, they will already know who Seth is and what happened in the first part. You want the description to be a teaser ... not give away the story. Just my opinion. All I would recommend is that you don't use an overly alliterative descripion ... those make my teeth clench.

What does that mean, if I may ask?

Okay, thank you

"A good luck charm for Seth"

Is that exactly the way I would write it, no hyphens or anything of the sort? Just making sure it's perfect :)

Here's a few I thought that you might enjoy RL... I'm heading towards the Avatar hunt stage myself, so glad to help a fellow man out.

Supremely seductive, sexy sophomores sucking Sam would be highly alliterative

Okay ... some misspellings ... my teeth were clenched!

Alliteration: Lusty lactating lesbians

I had a whole sentence written out with L's but it was just damn silly. :D
