Her Hero Found

Aubrey frowned and looked up at James, "What the hell James!" she said out loud and pushed away from him. "I know what was going on over there, they were having fun!"

Either from years of being so spoiled or just having some freedom for once in her life, Aubrey knew she was walking a fine line...despite the drinks. "I can look after myself you know!"

James stepped back from her. "Is that what you want? Do you want to take care of yourself? Fine, you've got it. I will be on the next plane back to the states."

It was time she grew up and learned that she couldn't spend the rest of her life being a spoiled brat. James turned and walked away from Aubrey. He stopped and turned around for a second. "Remember, your name is Karen now."

Then he continued back toward the hotel lobby. He walked toward the concierge desk and asked when the next flight was going back to the states. When the concierge asked where in the states, James replied, "It doesn't matter... anywhere."

The concierge frowned as he looked up the next flights before turning to James, "The next plane that is US bound is not until tomorrow morning and it will be landing in Texas."

On the beach, Aubrey was sitting, staring at the ocean. What the hell just happened? She was going over it all in her head when she realized that James didn't have to get mad at her like that. So what if she was having a little fun. That's why they were here right?

She did what him to protect him but not against everything. There wasn't really a threat out here, was there?

"Damnit!" she said outloud. He was just going to leave her here... alone.

It was a good thing she had her sunglasses on, the tears started to fall as she sat there.

******

Aubrey didn't return to the room. She didn't feel like it. Besides, James was probably gone anyway... what did it matter?

Most of the day was spent wandering around the many shops along the beach and in the hotels. She didn't buy anything. She didn't want anything.

During another walk along the beach that night, her sarong wrapped around her hips once more, her arms crossed in front of her, Aubrey never felt so alone in her life.

"Nothing until tomorrow? What the hell.... go ahead and book me on it." He was so mad at Aubrey. Hadn't he warned her about guys trying to take advantage of female tourists, especially the attractive ones?

She was way too spoiled and had never been out in the world on her own. Well now she will be. If that is what she wants, she can have it. Her words kept racing through his head.

"I can look after myself you know"

She had never looked after herself in her entire life. Her father always had someone to take care of her. If she wants to be on her own.... fine. James became more and more frustrated. He didn't go up to the room. He decided to go for a long walk on the beach... he needed to walk off the frustration and anger he was feeling.

"Hey! I remember you!" A voice said, startling Aubrey. She turned to see the same guy from the party earlier in the day. She rolled her eyes at being disturbed from her personal thoughts. She really wasn't in the mood for this right now.

"A pretty girl sitting all alone should be a crime!" He immediately walked over to her and grabbed her by the hand, "Hey come on, there's a party going on in one of the rooms, we could have some major fun!"

Aubrey yanked her hand away. Ordinarily she would've gone but she just wasn't in the mood. "Go away, huh? Go find someone else to take!" She told him before turning her attention back to the ocean.

Not used to his offers being refused, the guy reached out again, grabbing the girl by the hair, "What the fuck, bitch!"

The pain made Aubrey cry out... how did she always manage to get in trouble?

As James walked out of the hotel he saw the kid that had been feeding Aubrey drinks earlier talking with a girl. Then he heard some screaming and saw the guy grab the girl by the hair. It was then that he realized that the girl was Aubrey.

James sprinted to them. He did not hit the punk. James grabbed him by the neck and led him to the ocean. James threw him into the water. Then James grabbed his hair and held his head under the water. After a minute, he pulled his head out of the water. "Did you think I was fucking with you punk?" Back under the water his head went... his face pushed into the sand.

James pulled the kid's head out of the water again. "The next time I even lay eyes on you you will wish that you were dead. Are we clear?" With that James left him gasping for air and went to Aubrey. "Would you care to go up to the room with me, or do you want to stay here with your friend?"

Friend? Aubrey couldn't help but watch the man stagger out of the water and head in the opposite direction of herself and James.

She was holding her head where her hair was pulled before looking up at James. She didn't bother to answer him, "I thought you'd be out of here by now.." she said, pouting and looking back at the ocean.

"It is a good thing for you that there were no flights until tomorrow morning," James said to Aubrey as he dragged her off the beach toward the hotel. "We are going to have a little chat upstairs about what you need to do to protect yourself once I leave here."

They got on the elevator and rode up to the penthouse. Aubrey had her pouty face on but James didn't pay any attention to her.

Once the elevator reached the penthouse, Aubrey refused to move out of the elevator. She crossed her arms in front of her and sulked. She knew she was acting childish but she couldn't help it. She didn't want James to go. Without him, she'd be alone and well, defenseless...

She reached for the button to close the doors after James got off, waiting for her... Aubrey started to punch at the button but it wasn't working for her...at least it wasn't working fast enough for her...

"Stop acting like a little child and get off the elevator. You told me that you can look after yourself yet you are acting like a 5 year old. Start acting like a young woman."

James waited for Aubrey to get off the elevator, but she continued to sulk and pout. James reached into the elevator and dragged Aubrey out and allowed the elevator to go back into service. "If you want to act like a child go to your room. You can pout there."

Aubrey was taken back, "Excuse me?! You do not talk to me like that James!" She said, in a challenging tone. "Why don't you just leave now? Go away James!! You were so anxious to leave but you're still here!"

She pushed past him and went directly to the mini bar in her room. Damnit, she was beyond frustrated. Why didn't he see that? Her whole world was in turmoil that she barely had time to get used to it!

"Is that what you want? Is it, you spoiled little brat? Do you want me to leave you? Make sure to have another drink. Get yourself another drink... get drunk... that will do you a lot of good. You are on your own now. Find someone else to rescue you from the next guy that wants to assault you."

James turned and headed back toward the elevator. He tried to calm down, but he couldn't. She had him so frustrated. She had no idea of what the world outside her bubble was like.

***2 hours later***

James still hadn't returned back to the room and Aubrey had finally stopped crying.

He kept calling her a spoiled brat...even when he was joking but tonight, he said it with such hatred that it sobered her up. He was right. She was spoiled. All her life she had someone taking care of her. Even when she was first kidnapped, she had a nanny...

What 14 year old out there has a damn nanny?

The drinks in the minibar were long forgotten as Aubrey sat at the desk and wrote on the hotel stationary a letter to James...

James,

I'm so sorry for what I said earlier. You're right. I am a spoiled brat. I'm so damn frustrated with everything that I feel so alone. I left you a present on your bed. It's not much. I did finally get to count it, just over 6 million dollars, not including the bonds and such..I'm not sure, there are some weird sort of titles in the mix, I hope you can make heads or tails out of it.

I need to take care of myself. I won't bother you again. Please believe me when I say thank you for what you did with Daddy..what ever it was.

Take care James, I love you...in more ways than one.

Love, Aubrey

Where he had gone, Aubrey wasn't sure. But she couldn't stay here. Things had changed drastically and she didn't want to spend another night in this place without knowing he wasn't in the next suite or at the very least, some where close by.

Aubrey didn't take any of the clothes she had gotten earlier. She left her fake "Karen" ID on the bed. The only thing she took was her wallet.

James sat in the lobby of the hotel facing the elevator. As mad as he was, he could never leave Aubrey unprotected. Despite how much of a pain in the ass she had been today, he was not going to leave her alone. He had to make sure that he taught her how to survive in the "real" world.

He watched her get off the elevator and walk toward the entrance. He followed her, without her seeing him. When she stopped outside at the hotel and looked around, James walked up behind her and said, "Hey girl, you look good. Want to party with me tonight?" When Aubrey turned around and saw it was him James said to her, "going somewhere?"

She didn't say anything. Aubrey looked up at James...she didn't smile, didn't acknowledge him and turned back around. She walked down the boardwalk, her mind in a completely different place...

Aubrey could feel him right behind her. She didn't know what to say to him. She was embarassed for the way she acted before. Right now, if she was going to survive in the real world...it was about time she started. Even with all she said on the note, she truly needed to get out on her own.

"Bre, come back up to the room and talk with me. We need to work through what happened today. We can do it. You know that I would never let anything happen to you."

He watched her. There was something on her mind. She was stubborn. She anted to do something. He could tell, but what it was, he wasn't exactly sure. "Come on Bre. Come with me."

"You wouldn't let anything happen to me?!" That got to her. "James, you said you were going to LEAVE ME!!" She exclaimed. Several people had walked by, staring at them. Aubrey turned away from him, her eyes searching the ocean in the distance.

"Look, I'm tired of fighting OK? You were right. I am spoiled James. I realize that....now..." she had changed into a different top and a pair of jeans but the cool air was something had expected. "Maybe it is best if you leave. I mean, I'm pretty confident that I'll be OK..."

Won't I? she thought in the end...

"Bre, come upstairs with me. If was going to leave you I would be long gone. I care about you Bre. I always have. I just want you to understand how you have been sheltered. I had hoped to ease you into it, but that asshole today sped up the process."

James was not going to drag her. Aubrey was going to come on her own, or she wasn't going to come with him at all. He waited for her response.

She wanted to pull her hair out when he said something about what had happened earlier that day...

Sighing loudly, Aubrey finally turned toward him, "That's the thing James, you want me to see things for myself? Then let me experience them! You didn't have any faith in me that I knew what I was doing out there, did you?!"

She answered for him, "No James... I appreciate it... I love the fact that you're looking out for me but... I don't know... I'm so mixed up, I don't know what to do! And with you disappearing on me today, I had a lot of time to think. I don't want you to think that you have to hover over me all the time OK?"

"Bre, I am not going to beg you. I want to help you, but you need to want my help. If you don't, that is your decision. I am going to go up to the room. I will wait for you to come up. If you do not, I wil know your answer."

James turned and went back into the hotel. He rode the elevator up to the penthouse and got into the shower. He needed to wash the nastiness of the day away, and he needed to be prepared to check out if Aubrey didn't come back up.

After about 10 minutes, Aubrey finally just muttered a curse under her breath and headed back up to the room also. What the hell. She did want James' help but why can't he just give it?

Maybe tomorrow would be a better day?

When she entered the suite, she faintly heard the shower in his room running and that's when she remembered the letter...damnit! Running into his room, she grabbed the letter off the bed and quickly trashed it. What would've been close...

The shower was still running when she got an idea...entered his bathroom, Aubrey hurriedly and stripped before she chickened out. Her naked form entering the shower, James' back was to her...

James stepped into the warm shower and allowed the water to cascade over his body. it felt good. It was very relaxing. He stood in the shower mindless... not thinking about anything....... just enjoying the warm shower.

James stood directly under the stream of water tilting his head so the shower was directed right in his face. As he stood there he felt something. He didn't feel it physically, but it was as if someone was watching him... from nearby. How could that be? He was in the shower. He turned around and saw aubrey standing there in the shower with him. His jaw dropped. "Bre?"

She could tell by the look on his face that he was beyond surprised. Smiling, Aubrey leaned forward, the heat of the water already misting her body, making it almost glow, "Yes?" she said, her eyes full of innocence as she took a step forward... "What's wrong James...?"

Nothing else was said as she just stood there, her body glistening, her nipples harding from the mixture of cool and warm air...

James was speechless, but his body spoke volumes. He looked at Aubrey's beautiful body before him.... her supple breasts, her hard nipples. He looked into her eyes... trying to figure out what was on her mind.... as if he didn't know.

He wanted to touch her. He wanted his hands to move over her body, but this was Aubrey... the girl that he had protected as a young teacher... the girl that he once thought of as almost a sister. His feelings were confused... in his head yesterday. His body wsn't reacting with any confusion, however.

Aubrey couldn't help but have a look of slyness in her eyes as she took another step forward, this time closer to James...the water was now splashing on her, little drops of water running down her skin between her breasts...

She looked James over, her eyes freely roaming with no shame...they stopped at the sight of his semi erect cock and she couldn't help but reach for it, taking it in one hand and giving a firm squeeze... "What's wrong?" she repeated as she gave him another squeeze.
